American Psycho

American Psycho, both film directed by Mary Harron and Novel written by Bret Easton Ellis, undoubtedly has moments of dark comedy or commentary critiquing male vanity and 1980's materialism and greed, but it is also quite a disturbing tale about the vulnerable human mind trapped within this consumerism-centric dystopia of wealth and a lack of individuality, and detailing the effects this bleak empty reality has had on charming investment banker by day, and cold murderer by night, Patrick Bateman.
