Idea! Have a video where you read a couple of books and try to guess which has a higher goodreads rating. Even better if you read like 3 or 4 and tried to rank them by how you think they're rated!
would love to see a mood reading vlog! you could just make it a "how many pages I read in a week" video or even do a random number generator chooses the time/pages you read each day. but love your videos as always and will watch whatever you put out so although I love these concepts, don't feel like you have to sacrifice your mood reading for the sake of a video ❤
I think I was able to “enjoy” the nightingale so much because I listened to the audio for most of it. The French names of towns and things were so much easier and I think it was much smoother to understand in audio ❤ such a good read
You don't need to worry about how books you read in a video. We will watch it regardless. I also hate dnfing books but there are some books that I should have dnfed and didn't (they didn't get better). Also your reaction to that book being published by Penguin is the same reaction I had to Pucking around by published by the same publisher lol.
Yes, another video!! Love you and this concept!❤❤ And I think I'm speaking for a lot of us when i say we really don't mind you DNF-ing books, we just want to see you read books you love, so don't force yourself through books that you don't! Plus it's super helpful to know what book maybe to avoid after hearing your explanations. Just keep doing what you're doing, you and your videos are wonderful and I hope you get out of this stressful phase quickly and don't end up too burnt out. Take care of yourself ❤ Sophia
@@bookswithellen You're welcome ❤ And I think I said it before, but it means the world that you make such an effort to reply and like peoples comments, this made my night so much better! Have a wonderful week!
Girl, respect for DNFing the book. I need to take on the mindset of “I have so many books I’m excited to read”, when I’m disliking a book and debating on DNFing it.
I know this is a stretch, but a cool idea could be picking books or authors to read based on your initials. this way you're still mood reading and you're also getting to books you probably put off or aren't gravitating to normally. just a thought ☺️💭
Highly recommend Firefly Lane as your next Kristin Hannah. I did get teary at The Nightingale but Firefly Lane I actually sobbed and I have no sobbed reading a book like that since. Love Kristin Hannah 🫶🏼
Have you thought about switching over to fable? I LOVE IT- it’s everything I wanted from Goodreads & more. The only part I don’t like is some of my fav UA-camrs aren’t on it😭😂 & you can important everything from Goodreads, do half stars, and DNF. I sound like they pay me😂
I got Bloodstream in the self pubbed version years ago, and dnf’d it about 80 pages in… It’s… interesting to hear that even the trad published version is still not good. But also glad to hear it wasn’t just me 😅
I just finished The Nightingale 2 hours ago and I feel the same way about rating it. Usually 5 stars is a feeling, but it’s hard to have a happy feeling when the topic is this heavy.
Love the video as always !! I really hope you're going to read the new book in the serpent and the wings of night series bc it just came out, and I'm excited to see what you thought of it ☺️
Listen I need you to read Metal Slinger by Rachel Schneider like right now. It’s on KU. It got me out of a bad slump and it’s truly one of the best books I’ve read all year
Also life’s too short babe DNF’ing is always an option you should take if you feel like you will rate a book very low. You have so many amazing books that you’re actually excited about
I read The Nightingale this year and thought it was a fine read. There were a number of points where I was skeptical of how deeply the author knew the topic they were writing about. An average rating of 4.63/5 on Goodreads that it has currently is far too high IMO (that's higher than classics like Pride and Prejudice or the Lord of the Rings!), an average of around 4.0 would be less surprising.
The Stormlight Archive is SO MUCH better than Mistborn imo. Mistborn feels pretty YA, and I (a diehard sanderson stan) DNFd the second book because I was so bored
girl you can dnf as many books you want and we wouldn't care! reading is a personal hobby and we would want to see you actually enjoy the books you read !
Should do a video about moodreading physical tbr for a week 🤎might make a better dent on your tbr list if you reading books you actually want to read
This!
"this is published by PENGUIN???" i'm dying 😭😭

Now we need a video "reading till I cry from a book"

Ellens back again, answering the book gods!! Ive added so many book to my tbr from your videos, its getting crazy, 300+!!

I’m obsessed with bloodstream! It was my first F1 romance and I loved it! I recently also bought another of her books retrograde, it looks so good!

this is my sign to read the nightingale, I've been low key avoiding it cause I know that it will be heart wrenching!!!!

Could you do a video where you only pick books from Kindle Unlimited? I can't remember if you use Kindle Unlimited or not.
I love how you’re trying to be so nice about how much you dislike the second book 😂😭
I’ve always felt The Nightingale is a poor man’s All the Light we Cannot See (maybe just because I read them the same year).
This is so funny - I‘m currently recording the exact same format and my highest rated book is the nightingale😂 Looove it!🫂
Im currently reading the way of kings by Brandon Sanderson. I keep hearing more and more about jade city. People have been raving about it online
Jade City is amazing!!
