What a great quilt! I used to shy away from “disappearing” blocks because I didn’t have a rotating mat. Frugal tip: if you have a smaller cutting mat, (I have a 12x18) you can cut and turn the block on that. Does the same job and you f do not have to spend $ you don’t need to.
I don't have one, either. I just use a smaller mat (12x 18") that is good for putting a block on and trimming/ slicing up a block. I made a Disappearing Nine Patch for my niece's baby 10 years It was still easy without a rotating mat.😊
I came here to say this but you all beat me to it. The rotating mats look scary to me because they seem to wobble when you are cutting, and they are expensive. I, too, just use a regular small mat and spin it around. No lazy susan or anything fancy needed. :)
Donna, I've been quilting since my grandson was born 11 years ago. I love it. I've been using your ideas and my quilts have turned out great. Thanks for treating the disappearing blocks with the respect they deserve. Some people whip them up without lining up seams etc. great quilting Donna. Thanks Jan -Maree Warne
I enjoy watching your videos ❤️ I fell and broke my ankle and a few days later fell again and broke my wrist! Just had surgery today on my wrist, had plans on doing some quilting the last few weeks but thank goodness I can at least watch your videos
Thank you Donna for this beautiful pattern . I have made this with a mini red checkered fabric and used Muslin. Followed your instruction and have two beautiful Quilt Blocks. I have enough Mini red checkered fabric that i like to make this Quilt Pattern. It is a very easy and beautiful Block. Easy instructions to follow . Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.😊
Hello, I hope you are having a beautiful and creative day. I sent the day in my sewing room too and now I get to sit and watch you while I hand quilt. I hope you have a fabulous week ahead. Thank you for your time and posting this video!
Wow! This is so beautiful. You make it look so easy. I'm currently getting stuff together to start quilting for the first time. I'm going to have to have a go at your lovely pattern. Thank you for sharing.
Love this quilt! I agree with the sashing and cornerstones. You won't be disappointed in buying an Olfa rotating mat. Watch when JoAnn's has a sale and then they are not too expensive! There are other rotating mats that are wobbly.
Anyone else see the red and green border and think about Christmas layer cakes for the center? It would be a great way to show-off a Christmas layer cake, plus it makes a kind of star pattern with a pinwheel in the middle. This is a really cool design! Have a great day everyone!
My most favorite yet, been watching a long time. I am 87 and a mediocre quilter but I think I can make this one. Thank you, Donna, what an amazing woman you are!
I Love this quilt,it’s easy yet it’s looks like you cut up so many pieces, I have to try this one.. Donna you did it again Thank you I always look forward in seeing your videos, I work the night shift so it’s a pleasure to see your videos pop up.
Hey Donna Jordan! Since you first showed us your quilt design, I've learned that my niece is expecting her first baby & this is how I plan to make her a baby quilt. Baby shower is 1st of May, think I have time to sew one up & quilt it! Excited that my brother is going to be a papaw!
Ooooh, I love this!! I have a blues batik layer cake that will do nicely for this quilt. Tonal yet blocks will vary. One more family members quilt done. Thanks, Donna and team Jordan Fabrics.
Absolutely genius, love this.......one could also remove the centre and replace with back ground and then make a mini quilt ...genius...will definitely be making this....Thank you team ....
You are the best!!!!!! Fold toward "the dark side".......the Force is strong within you.

I use a 12x12 self healing mat (same mat I use for card making and scrapbooking). It’s easier to turn because its square and smaller.
I have a small mat too and a lazy Susan for turning.
