We will be budget travelling- hostels and air BnB's and street food and the whole bit. Thanks!
Thank you for watching! Do you guys love Melaka as much as we do?
What do you guys think about us putting our own personal situations like the drone issues into our vlog? Should we keep showing clips of what’s going on behind the scenes next time?
✨
Don’t forget to us on instagram (@jetlagwarriors) for behind the scenes and daily stories! www.instagram.com
You are super natural . Its kind of making the whole clips more interesting. Like your vlog.
hi guys, viewer from kota kinabalu here. you guys should come and visit.
you guys should check our these travel deals if you plan on travelling to east malaysia(borneo). holidays.malaysiaairlines.com/mhholidays-home.html
Definitely. It feels more personal, as if we're in the journey with you. Not just a travel channel program
Yes..it's always good to share even setbacks encountered and whatever both of you feel ok to share with viewers..I have no Instagram and do not know anything about Instagram privacy ,etc so not sign up Instagram account..just share your good and bad encounters in your travel adventure..as long as whatever you share not bring you problems with law of countries..be careful not to lose your drone in the river , or sea
@@alexacky9390 totally agree
Love the red buildings around there, so unique 😊
When the Dutch build those buildings, they painted it white. When the English came, they repainted all the Dutch buildings red, and it remains like that to this day.
Hanya Kami nice info! Thanks!
The Dutch had an advanced civil engineering during that era, where they have the drain system under the building, to which, the British built the ditch outside as they don't know abut it, when the took over Malacca
@@hanazliabdulhalim8080 The Brits still dont know about it till today 😆
@Bouya Its not crap, it is the truth! Actually it was the local authorities in Malacca that painted it to its current colour and the British had earlier painted it bright red. You really need to read more. Here is a scholarly article about it from academia. The Dutch embassy has more information about it too. You just need to research before commenting negatively:

Welcome to my home town.. enjoy it!!!!
Please wear mask when you're in public as it can create awareness to those who watch yr videos. This is because the level of awareness start to decline and as you can see in the news the number of cases start to rise again. COVID19 is still in the community, we didn't win it yet. Thank you. Great video btw.
Agreed... Mostly melaka is crowded esp in weekend
Totally true.
Also because the govt is trying to pass the bill to fine or even jail ppl who refuse to wear mask
Yes indeed...a few cluster has been detected 😩😩😩
Good point.
Melaka looks beautiful!
And now you're here!
Pre covid19, you wouldn't have been able to move around without encountering large crowds everywhere. Now Malacca is a ghost town without foreign tourists. So it's a great time to visit
If you like tandoori chicken and naan, give Pak Putra a try. Selvam also has nice banana leaf. Keep eating!
Banana leaf meal is always delicious.
Oh yes, Pak Putra's tandoori chicken + cheese naan is the best! 😋
Melaka is the best place to be. My hometown.
Glad u love malacca! 🤗

As usual for Portuguese to not leaving any traces of the previous ruler in any places they set foot on. Look into what they doing in the Americas, they demolish native Mexican civilization... They do it so for Malacca Sultanate... They take all precious gold and jewels and precious records owned by the Sultans and demolished their palace then built their own fortresses. Luckily The Dutch are not like Portuguese, if not, there will be never any traces of Portuguese landmarks as we can see nowadays in Malacca.
Behind the walking bridge on your 1st 1:46 was among popular Satay in Kampung Jawa. Opened around 12pm.
Welcome to Melaka
enjoy your stay guys..Melaka offer lots of delicious food..asam pedas..kuih keria antarabangsa..coconut shake..dodol..and you can take a short trip to Muar,Johor for mee bandung
I love Melaka! Wish I could work there one day 😅
Very beautiful...or should I say charming. Can't wait for more! Enjoy!😁
Since you are in Melaka for 1 week, can take a local bus to Muar town as a day trip (around 1 hour) and enjoy the food there...Parit Jawa is 10-15 mins from Muar town and the assam fish and other seafood dishes there is fantastic.Enjoy your Melaka stay.
Yeah definitely would recommend Muar, was about to comment the same thing.
The game that Ivana said is also available in Indonesia is called Congkak. Incidentally the game exists in every country in South East Asia, just like sepak takraw, which also exists in every country in SEA.
Would love to play it!!!
Also a similar game exists in Africa as well
I have played congkak since I was 6 years old
We love Melaka, really wish we were there now without the crowds.
If you like Tandoori chicken you.must go to Pak Putra Tandoori/Nann restaurant.
It is about 5 mins walk past Casa del Rio Hotel.
Walk to end of road and go right, there are lots of other food places nearby but Pak Putra is few minutes walk on right hand side.
Opens 5.30?
It is very popular.
As Malaysian, we occasionally travel to Melaka just to relax . That area that you’re currently travelling is called Melaka City. Other parts of Melaka is nice and charming too. For some reason, melaka feels a bit hotter than kl . The museums are nice too
👍🏻💫 channel presents good videos, interesting places, in malaysian good people, foreigners are respected, thanks to the owner couple, every day I watch related videos, congratulations for answering the messages 👏😉
Hey! Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoy
Melaka known for ikan bakar and other seafood bakar (grilled) and masak assam with different kind of fish.
Yes, I love Malacca as much as u guys do, simply bcoz I was born in Alor Gajah, Malacca. Thanks again for all d wonderful videos in Malacca.
Woww.. I miss Malacca. My favourite food there is always Nyonya Laksa, a peranakan cuisine & cendol of course.
GO TO UMBAI, IKAN BAKAR PARAMESWARA, open for dinner only, 6pm is highly recommended, beautiful sunset, enjoy fresh seafood by the sea,🤩
As small.state as Malacca.i still could not explore all.of it. It always been new attraction and every inch of Malacca is real interesting. Have fun exploring

Those were traditional game called CONGKAK 😁
Yesss another river cruise!

During dusk ... as the river lights come on
Hey Steve & Ivana, thank you for visiting our country. It wouldn't be complete if you don't visit Kuching in Sarawak, it might be a bit of a hassle on the entry point due to covid-19 SOP but you will be rewarded with what is waiting for you in the city, the attractions, the food, the views, the traditions and cultural village, and many more. You will love it. Do put put it in you plan. Enjoy you stay in our beautiful country and stay safe.
Ah, we would love to explore Borneo! But as you said, it might be a hassle with covid-19. We are not sure if we can make it during this trip... but we hope to! Stay tuned
Came here after watching the Ken Abroad Melaka video who mention your visit few months ago.
STEVE AND IVANA YOU BOTH AWESOME... ALL YOUR VIDEOS IS NEUTRAL NOT TOO MUCH EDITING AND YOUR CONTENT IS NOT BORING... 😍 👍 REGARDS FROM LANGKAWI MALAYSIA 🇲🇾
Thank you!!
The chicken rice balls look great!
KC Liew Not sure when we’ll make it there, but we will!
D durian popsicle looked amazing. It's shaped like a durian too. Nice cool treat for a hot humid weather.
So nice to see your vid with a bird eye view of Melaka from your drone. Hope u get the drone fixed asap to shoot wonder views that are not 'humanly' possible.
There is the Mods Cafe with a VW van fitted with coffee machines & paraphernalia parked inside the shop. Sometimes, the owner drives out to sell coffee in tourist spots. A novelty in selling coffee.
Wonderful n beautiful Malacca. Love this city, d food, d people etc. Hope u have had a marvelous time like any other tourists do.
You are the first youtuber i watch that said Malacca’s building looks like South America 😂
Haha it’s true! Got that South American feeling
Moonshine and lemongrass at his Bukit Cina vlog also mentioned that certain similarities to Mexico..
Try Malacca lovely beach
Nice sightseeing. It's raining season, good to bring umbrella, especially in the evening.
Melaka is a must place to visit when travelling to Malaysia. The scenery is epic and beautiful, the food? Awesome!
Don’t forget to try sate celup, asam pedas, coconut shake, nyonya kuih and mee bodoh. Oh ya, authentic nyonya laksa is a must!
I’ll be travelling to melaka this coming hari raya for an away weekend with my wife. Hopefully the weather and experience be good to us too
Enjoy your hari raya! And thanks for the tips
JetLag Warriors no prob. Enjoy your melaka-tour. You can go to Menara Taming Sari to enjoy Melaka night view or go to The Shore Skytower to experience they glass floor deck
I'm so glad you guys love melaka..
In Melaka, you guys should go to Sungai Duyong and eat by the riverbay for the freshest seafood barbeque malaccan style ever like ikan bakar sambal/sweat sour (both salt and fresh water fish), sotong bakar, sotong goreng tepung (freakin huge calamari), udang black pepper (one of the ultimate reason why western imperialist came to melaka btw - black peppers!)..deep from the heart simply the best seafood experience you should never missed!! Kene order bro!!
Asam pedas guys! No melaka trip would be complete if u hadn't eaten asam pedas! I recommend you to go to Asam Pedas Pak Man! Sedap gilerrrr
Start from Friday to Sunday after 7pm,u guys can walk around jonker street,,have PASAR MALAM
Definitely my favourite state.. Melaka
Unusual time indeed. The places you guys went are usually packed with people.
I enjoy the video. U guys are genuinely loving your time there😁
Good to enjoy Malacca on weekdays. Less crowded and busy. You’ll have most cafes by yourselves. But weekend, prepare to see big crowds there. You can barely walk in Jonker Night Market on Saturday night.
*JetLag Warriors* Thanks for this! Can't wait for More. Oh Have a superior day! :d
Welcome to my hometown
The most famous chicken rice balls place was on your extreme right when you cross that bridge towards Jonker Walk
You must go down to Bunga Raya Road and try the awesome popiah, just ask around and the locals will show you where, I think it costs like RM5 per piece
If you get a chance to go to Little India, just adjacent to Bunga Raya Road, head over to the famous wanton noodle place, and theres also the famous satay celup near there.....enjoy your stay in Malacca
Ahh I went on the river cruise just an hour after you guys!
It’s great, right? We enjoyed it! Too bad we missed you 😝
Kopi O Kosong is the option for me. The bitter coffee really compliment wide range of food. The next best coffee for me is Kopi C Kosong.
Enjoy your stay in Malacca n also the food plus the cultures
So far, loving it! Lots of vlogs coming
Two of you are 5 stars too.
❤️✨
I just came back from Melaka last month. Best time to go there since it's really quiet and not many ppl + traffic. So you get to eat at famous eateries minus the crowd + queue. Try out Sun May Hiong Satay House's pork satay with pineapple sauce. It's soooooo good. Also the coconut shake in Pantai Klebang. Also for authentic Nyonya food, try Nancy's Kitchen.
Thanks for sharing. I love melaka 😍
3:41 Steve really did his homework. Kudos!
Try Kuih Nyonya for tea time
love your video PERFECT!
Whattttt!? 60M tourists wowwww!!! Amazinglah Melaka ni!
16M!!! Sorry I didn’t speak clearly. Still a lot!
Yay, happy that you love Melaka. I’m from Melaka and I can’t stand the weather there, lol.
If you have the time, try visiting the Cheng Hoon Teng temple, it has nice architecture. It is the street behind Jonker Walk, it’s the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia. The street where the temple is on is called Temple Street if I’m not wrong as there is three places of worship in a row, a Chinese temple, a Hindu temple and a mosque. If you walk along the streets of Jonker Walk and it’s surrounding, you may notice that there are a few tombs. These tombs are the tombs of the friends of Hang Tuah, a group of people that is very famous in Malaysia during the Malacca Sultanate days.
I can’t really recommend much food to you as I usually eat at home when I’m back in Melaka, haha. But here are the few that I like:
1. Nyonya Kuih at Soon Yen coffee shop in Tengkera (in the morning around 8am to 9am)
2. Cendol at Jonker 88 (lots of ppl go there for nyonya Asam laksa but I’m not an Asam laksa fan, so not sure how good it is)
3. Coconut shake at Klebang (very refreshing to counter the hot weather in Melaka)
4. Melaka pineapple tarts (can get this from shops in Jonker Street)
5. Nyonya food at Home Taste Restaurant @ Kota Laksamana (food here taste almost like home cooked Nyonya food and the price is reasonable)
Enjoy the quietness while you can. I think there will be lots of people during the weekend. :) Have fun! Looking forward to new vlogs.
Waiting for your video visit to klebang coconut shake and satay celup
Melaka the state of legendary Malay warrior named Hang Tuah.enjoy your trip guys and don't forget to try asam pedas Melaka👍👍
Just simple Malay language you can use at makan place
Kopi O = coffee with sugar
Kopi = coffee with condense milk
Kopi kosong = black coffee
Good luck!
I hope you two are always safe as there has been an increase in covid 19 cases in some places
Makes me relaxing tq for the good video
Such a stunning quaint town.
For coffee without sweetened milk or sugar is call kopi C kosong. They replace condensed milk in normal kopi with evaporated milk :)
You guys just have the best luck with drones!
Amazing right!! Lost connection less than 30m away, and decided to fly some random spot and hover. Says it can fly up to 4000m away.... sigh
@@JetLagWarriors I didn't see any vlog from.both of you 2 days..thinking maybe your new drone had problems or both busy doing research or filming and checking out..as to produce amazing vlogs again
Melaka is very calm right now because school just happen to reopen for all pupils this week. If you went there in recent weekends it would be chaos. Seriously chaos😂
.yes schools started and no new holidaymakers from Singapore, China and other countries can cross borders..perfect timing to be visiting any of the popular local holiday destination now..less crowd also enable opportunity for more beautiful videos and photos..so too with all popular spots in the popular places whole world...All said I really hope all operators do not simply hike prices and allow prices affordable for all categories of budget travellers and local Malaysians, esp from lower to middle income folks..it prices too high and expensive.. locals would just continue to seek other low budget destinations in Thailand,Indonesia, Vietnam, China , etc..
This place going to be massive crowded at the weekend...u should stay a bit longer to explore malacca..hehehehehe..every weekend i’ll going to malacca to ‘lepak2’...hehehehe
Love melaka..
When you were on the bridge, behind you, along the river, there’s a mosque... just beside the mosque is Restaurant Line Clear, Kampung Jawa.. they serve rojak, satay, mee goreng, mee rebus.. one of best in town.. long queues, and it’s always super packed...you will have to wait for tables.. people come from far to have it.. busy from the time they open till closing
If you want good coffees and place to chill and work, The Daily Fix cafe on jonker street or Alley no 5 (walking distance from that bridge)
If you go to the local coffee shop or kopitiam or cafe, they usually made the coffee with condensed milk, hence it becomes very sweet. Can ask for kopi O kosong (kosong mean zero sugar), with a little fresh milk on the side, which u can add according to your taste
malacca has a number of excellent nyonya restaurants. must try. this historical town is i believe the birth place of nyonyas, the intermarriage of Malays and Chinese in the early days. this city was conquered/colonized by the Portuguese, then Dutch, then English, then Japanese, then English...each left behind many tombstones. visit the Portuguese settlement outskirt of the town, to try out their cuisine. enjoy!
If you've watched Pirates of The Caribbean, East Indies (Nusantara) was the prized colonies of England & Dutch. The red building with big windows was the headquarters of VOC, The Dutch East Indies Company.
Melaka ikan bakar also the best 😋
Go to the museums. You'll learn everything!
Can’t wait to finally ( hopefully ) visit Melaka & onto Kuala Lumpur
Did you visit the museum inside the historical Dutch administration office at red square
Friday & Saturday nights you have the Jonker st markets ( if still on due to the coronavirus )
Did not explore inside the churches or museums yet, will have another video for that. Same goes for Jonker Walk on the weekends. We like to get a first inpressions video out early, as to get tips from locals of how to visit the attractions properly. (best time, things to bring, etc). Thanks for watching!
JetLag Warriors ... welcome - enjoy ( as I know you are over there )
I suggest you both go to Hang Tuah museum, Hang Tuah Well located a few meters from that museum and submarine museum
Looks interesting!! Would love to learn more
Can definitely see the comparisons to South America!
If u don't mind me asking, what actually d comparisons to South America? I've never been there, so this is a very naive question. Sorry. Could it be d colonialism history?
Yasin Affandi The architecture of the churches and the plazas. The colonial history could have something to do with that
@@FoodandFootprints Thank u for clearing it out. Look forward to your new videos.
I think Melaka it's much cleaner than south American city😊
@@FoodandFootprints By d way, jus to let u know, Malacca n Penang r listed in d UNESCO world heritage site. Not many sites listed from within Malaysia.
you should try cendol kampung hulu...go to pantai klebang in the evening
3:07 Saw you guys yesterday...but I was busy eating cendol durian across the street ...hahaha
Come say hi next time!!
Hainam chicken rice ball is cause of fisherman having their lunch while working on the sea at old day, just like sushi.Love to see u both at Malacca.
Very cool and different than other chicken rice!
Love your introduction on Malacca
It makes we Malaccan proud of our city
Thanks
Really enjoyable
You can order Kopi C kosong (kosong means no sugar). C means they put in evaporated milk which is not sweet. We don't drink "normal cow's milk" in Kopitiam.
There's a package of RM10 per person of museum entrance ticket, which you can enter 10 museums located within the city of Melaka. I must say, you must visit all the museums in the city of Melaka if you have the chance. They're very interesting, and very beautiful.
Sounds good! Thanks
Check out jonker walk night market on Saturday night. Raw oyster... yummmm
Melaka is one of the closest state to my heart. I studied in Melaka for 5 years. Jonker street is my favorite place to hang and eat. I love everything about Melaka except for its traffic on weekend 🤣 and yes i totally agree that restaurants/cafe around jonker street is quite pricey but still it is worth to try. Find Daily Fix Cafe (it is in a souvenier shop - KK souvenier if im not mistaken). It sells gula melaka pancake which is good. Jonker88 cafe sells the best nyonya asam laksa. There asam pedas restaurant near casa del rio hotel (mona asam pedas). Oh there's a lot of places you can go. Lol. Enjoy Melaka guys!
Ooh thanks so much for all your suggestions
@@JetLagWarriors i'll drop you a message on instagram if i have any other places to suggest 😁
Siti Nurhana Mohamad Pakharuddin thanks!
You should climb up St. Paul Hill to see the beautiful scenery of Malacca
Hi guys! Great videos. Ivana I love your dress. You look so easy going and so sweet in that dress.
Have you all visited the interior house of jonker walk? Anyone will do. These are the chinese olden days houses. They have an attic and a well in the house.
The unbearable heat is mostly from the tarmac rising up.. adding up to the already high temperature of the air from above.
hey guys go try coconut shakes too...and pls ask for authentic famous asam pedas & try they seafood barbecue at Serkam..downsouth another 45 minutes to my parents hometownn Muor and go try Mee Bandung plus satay (among famous in south peninsular)
Welcome to.Melaka😃
First time ever, malacca is not fully pack of people, due to the covid, that’s why you can enjoy it.
number 9 here yeyy
U guys should visit Capitol satay celup while in Melaka. Its the best in town!
Malacca is special place for my in-law as there are typical Peranakan families with strong family values and tradition....
The A Formosa, The Stadthuys, St. Paul Church ...Just some of the old relics in Malacca..... Chicken Rice balls, Peranakan or Nyonya food, Satay Celup are some of Malacca's specialities...
It's a little quiet now due to COVID-19 , hope things will get better much sooner......
Stay safe & happy travels..
Thank you!
Must try Malacca dish. Asam pedas
