Generally I used to carry my Primary phone all the time but now have changed to a new set up where I have downgraded from the iPhone 14 Pro and here are a few reasons. First of all, I bought a Unboxed iPhone SE 3 at 20K from a known phone store which I think is a good value for money phone compared to the newly launched flagships. Here are 5 benefits I noticed.
1. Smaller Phone - In the morning walks, I realized there was no need for me to carry the larger phone that also gave a lot of distraction and had a heavier weight compared to this little phone.
2. No Distraction - This little phone has just the Phone apps and my whatsapp, no other apps which means that after my work time of 7pm, I carry this personal phone with me to my home and hence have no distraction.
3. Reduced Social Media Usage - Because of this little phone, the benefit is that I have no access to the social media apps or useless websites that would generally make me waste my time or distract me, and down the line, we tend to speak to others if something comes up or just look at the emails or whatsapp and then stop the phone usage.
4. Personal Vs Work Phone - Now because of this setup, I have a work phone where I have hundreds of notifications, apps and everything around my work stays at my office while I can always carry the phone to home but you should also remember that its our choice and if the notifications are not seen then we might save some time or have less distractions.
5. Almost a Non-Smartphone - My idea was to switch to a feature phone itself but considering that the Whatsapp is now almost part of our live, we generally get most important communication through it, I opted for an iPhone but that's quite basic yet almost the latest.
Overall, This gives me the choice to focus on phone I'm with than on the phone, in short we notice even when people gather they are all on the phones while I can actually stay away from the phone because its not that smart anymore :)
I would suggest everyone to do some changes so you dont have only social media and distractions around you. Maybe if you cannot switch to another phone, just remove the apps that eat away your time.

I mean battery life would be still very bad. You could have just gone with iPhone 14 and for distractions use focus mode in ios.

Dumbest toh nahi hai...sare apps toh chal hi jayenge SE mai bhi....14 pro pe bhi sara uninstall karne se voh bhi dumb hi ho jayega na...samjha nahi yeh video

I appreciate your this step. I am also lover of small screen. But unfortunately all companies almost stopped making 6" or 5.8" phone. Pls make a video on your portfolio. How it is doing. I admire the way you have made your long term portfolio and investing philosophy.

I do not understand the logic and you are saying there is no any social media app in SE3. You can do the same thing in iPhone 14 pro, uninstall all unwanted apps from 14 pro.
