I would like to say that majority of Oneplus users shifted to iPhone in 2021 when that useless brand bricked their older phones through updates, buried their OG Oxygen OS, then overpriced their phones.
Not just Oneplus, majority of Android brands played this cheap trick of bricking phones through updates which resulted in many users shifting to iPhones just for peace of mind. I was one of them as well.

I can afford to buy a base model of iPhone, but I am still not willing to spend above 30K on a phone. My current realme 8 5G is 15K and brought a Xiaomi 6 tab for 22K. The whole concept of buying iphones is so funny. The best product that apple really have is the MacBook and iPad ( not all models really) but people are never buy those in India. Apple is all about the ecosystem. That's what it is about. It's good to see Samsung building a similar and effective ecosystem in the windows and Android world. One major flaw in iPhones that no one addresses is battery ( I known people who are forced to change battery of iphone after 2 years, battery health is less than 75%) (heavy users) I used oneplus 5 for 4 years and didnt had to replace its battery even once. Maybe apple wants their users to upgrade to new iphone every 2 years

I use iphone 13, battery life is good but it decreases 1% every month, last july i had bought, now its 86%. Service centre claims its normal. I will be forced to change its battery in next 6 months (and battery is costly : 10k) oneplus had offered me free replacement of battery just by paying 1000 rs service charge (one plus 5)

Another reason - Midrange smartphones are getting costly and premium smartphone are getting cheaper.so people choose to buy premium smartphone at 40k instead of spending 25-30k on Midrange.
The quality of smartphone under 20k is declining they lack features which were present in smartphone under 20k ,3-4 years ago like amoled display, double speaker,ultra wide lens etc

I agree but i bought a iphone 13 at EMI, I could have bought it for cash in full but there were bank discounts and during phone search the no phone in 30k range was good.. Camera , Display etc one thing is good but other is just pathetic. So, decided to buy Iphone for 50k and it is worth. There are literally no other good phone in the market at this point of time under 40-45k in android..So, if we are spending 45k why not spend 50k for a much better experience.

I literally shifted to iPhone because I got if free😂. iPhone xr from my brother and I'm still using and it's still better in everyday use. Yeah, the battery is still a problem. But as he said in the video about the apple ecosystem it really matters alot. iPhone+ mac is really a great combination from apple. The whole user interface is better than windows+android or windows+ios

I couldn’t get it when you said young Indians are getting more salary. Those who are purchasing iPhones are unemployed (daddy’s money) or on EMIs. Another thing to notice nowadays within 50k or 60k there are only Chinese junks available. If someone's getting an iPhone with that price range even if on EMIs, it gets its value eventually over time. A android is lasting for 2 years only (green lines, battery issues, lack of updates etc) whereas an iPhone lasts for more than 4 years without hesitation. Moral : iPhone wins in some circumstances.

I was using 11 pro since it's launch but from last year I switched to Android thinking that nothing would change in my daily life (I am a photographer).
But say what you want no brand can replace the reliability of an iOS device whether it's the simplicity of OS or the RAM management or less distracting interface. And optimisation of popular productive apps is next level on an iPhone. If you can afford it without EMIs then why not buy a device that will make you more productive.

2018 downfall of iphone is because of Jio 4G, As people that time are more excited to buy a new 4G phone than a premium iphone. Also At that time the price of iphone are Way higher than today’s price if we see the inflation.
2020 Peak is bcz now the people are getting used to 4G and now they want to upgrade their previous phones so they’ve two options android or iphone and now the game changer BIG BILLION DAYS come into role the iphones which people used to buy in 80k or above suddenly come to 50k.

Bought 2 Iphones (13&14) 3 months back No Cost EMI. I had money to buy it on cash (payment in one go) kept the money in ETF's when the payment is due I withdraw that amount by selling those ETF's. made little profit out of these 3 months. (can say I got discount on 2 Phones) still investments are on lets see now how much discount I get over it. Point is No Cost EMI is not always bad if you have limit on your spendings

1. Good value at base models as compared to android. Good resale value.
2. Better software support. Good camera.
3. A lot of people want to see whats on the other side. An android bought becomes irrelevant in 6 months because they are playing the specs game.
At around 50k-60k apple is a better product as its competitors samsung loses value like crazy and oneplus is chinese and it also has a lot of issues.
Good analysis 👍 . I would like to add some more points.
1. Small form factor. Lot of people don’t want loiterer around carrying a 6.5 or bigger hot bricks. iPhone nicely fills that gap.
2. Extended OS support. Any new iPhone easily goes for five years.
3. Waterproof certification. Lot many droids are not waterproof. Spill tea and droids go buzzzzz 🤣.
4. All iPhones support wireless charging.

2018-2019 was the best era for android…. Crazy phones were releasing every month… but don’t know what happened after covid android phones started showing issues (newer models)… -(talking about midrange phones)
My friends bought iqoo, Samsung, realme, nord etc -all around 20k-25k many of them started facing major issues like camera portrait modes weren’t working, battery issue, green line, display was turning purple, software etc.. while the phone I bought Realme X back in 2019 was working without issue… just recently it’s pop up camera stopped working…
Now we all started college this year and majority of us weren’t able trust android phones and then news started coming out that premium android phones are also facing green line issues… then we concluded to switch to iPhones…

Very nicely explained. I just differ on one aspect though, iPhones are considered valuable all around the world not just India. And so what BMC n Saket witnessed after iPhone 15 launch, USA and other countries have been experiencing it - The phenomena. Educated earning youth carrying their tent and camping around apple store just to be the first get the iPhone. Just like we now watch less cringe and more valuable content on OTT/Cinemas, time is due we think about value for money and other aspects and not just a logo with dated features wedded to the Alnwick ecosystem.
