Surely, enough of us have asked for a cast recording by now? Though maybe there can never be enough of us asking for a cast recording.

I love that they found Natalie a stool to sit on. But all the jokes aside this was gorgeous.

Like the voices, but Caissie is too young to play this role. There are more the sisters from Frozen. The emotional aspect of the role of Diane is in my opinion mostly because of her age

There's a 21 year age difference between these two. And Diana had Gabe while in college. So they fit the character ages pretty well. Diana was a young mother

Alice ripley was 46 when she played Diana on Broadway. Caissie is 43.

you're wrong. Diana and Dan were young when they had kids. It's mentioned in the story several times. They were pretty much 'kids themselves when they started their family. They were in their early twenties. The kids in this are 18 and 16. Caissie is 43. The character of Diana is 40. She's the perfect age for the part.

I take it back then. I did not know Caissie was (already) 43..could have checked it though. To me, she just looks like 32. In other words, age-wise she's fine. I have to admit that I have seen versions where the actresses who played Diane were often older (50+).

I have not been convinced by any of the videos of Cassie Levy as Diana. I don't hear any fear or anguish in her voice. It just sounds...pretty. Like a country singer doing an open mic. Maybe her performance is different in the show itself? After seeing numerous Diana's, including Alice Ripley and Marin Mazzie on Broadway, as well as two phenomenal Korean Diana's in Seoul, I'm just not feeling this interpretation. Like, I'd believe this Diana has at least a couple of Stanley cups and a favorite T Swift era.

she definitely shows fear and anguish in her actual performance she does the role justice and literally cries multiple times during the show or at least when i saw it in my opinion she shows a more broken Diana especially at the end of act 1

I saw the show at the Donmar last year. Caissie is incredible in this role. She's much more nuanced than Alice Ripley's interpretation. I prefer it. More authentic and believable. And country music is full of storytelling and heartache, so this isn't a bad analogy!
