    You are doing the best thing for Boris! Keeping him on the road is the responsible thing to do. Having numbers matching nuts and bolts etc., not so much! Good work on being a good steward of the Landy tradition.

    Watching the start of the video, it was like hearing myself when I bought my 110. A new chassis and bulkhead later, I'm happily worrying about other stuff 😂

    Please make sure you use stainless steel fixings wherever possible, highly recommend using dinatrol first for the cavities and then a top coat of Lanoguard once dry, after multiple applications of everything on the market and 35 years of bulkhead swaps, this is my go to recipe. Keep up the great work, we all have to learn sometime…

    Another great vlog, it must be daunting stripping Boris down this much, thank you for breaking it down. It was lovely meeting you at the LRO Belvoir show and the Boris sticker has pride of place on my tool chest. Cheers

    Very daunting job! I'm sure that we'll end up in exactly the same position, since we also maintain a Land Rover that we intend to keep forever. No signs of it yet for us, but for sure one day we'll endure the same task. I even have a savings pot going to help fund it when the time comes! Good luck to you with the job, I'm sure you will definitely get it done, and we will definitely look forward to the associated videos.

    Really pleased to have come across your channel, as a first time, and very green, Tdi 200 Defender 90 owner. Very informative and giving me the confidence to have a go at some of it myself.

    New dash wiring loom might be a good one to add to the list. Additionally how about a heated windscreen?

    • @BorisTheDefender
      @BorisTheDefender  Рік тому

      Both would be a nice addition! Heated windscreen would be very helpful

    Be a great video to see. Will need to change my bulkhead in a year or 2 I think. Tip maybe to label as many wires if you can see where they go. Makes fault finding and modification easier. I chased a cable for hours and it didn't do anything.

    Use marine grade stainless Steel nuts bolts washers etc A4 80 grade I've done most of my td5 in A4 it makes a huge difference in stopping corrosion creep and look fantastic

    Order a pack of the dash screws as you will find a lot rusty or missing the hold all the low dash on

    I know you’ve removed the sill rails as you have the bars on the side but for anyone else doing this definitely replace the sill rails and hardware at the same time. I had to completely cut mine out when replacing the outriggers as they had rusted so bad that the bolts sill rail and A Pillar feet had become one!

    Is the zinc bulkhead more expensive than a galvanised one?

    • @BorisTheDefender
      @BorisTheDefender  Місяць тому +1

      I’m not sure actually sorry. Have a look at the DDS website. I can imagine it isn’t more expensive
