- Months of planning and weeks of sourcing all came down to this day! It was finally time to swap out the engine in Boris. Thankfully the day went as smoothly as it could have gone and the new lump glided in.
Im so glad we finally got it done with that much ease but I couldn’t of done it with out the support of:

These are great engines, thanks for your vid 😀. I just flowed a new head for my 300 TDI, ported-n-polished, swirl polished the valves too + flowed exhaust valves leading edge. She gets up a steep hill in third now, which used to need holding in 2nd gear.

My 300 is on 410,000 miles, still original ,never even had the head off. 1 turbo , 2 starters 1 clutch .
Defenders don’t wear out they just evolve😀

I’ve been toying with the idea of an LS swap into my 90- but the 300tdi engine isn’t bad at all- it’s not going to win any speed records but it does the job just fine.
An LS would be great. Or an M57 or OM606. Also original is always nice 👍

May be a trick of the light but at 16.02 it looks like a crack in the join on the exhaust manifold, if it was I would think you would hear it leaking
