Street Fighter II: Champion Edition Longplay (PC Engine) [60 FPS]: Capcom worked their magic with this conversion of their seminal fighter for the PC Engine! Read the video description for my review!
Maybe the single most impressive game on the PC Engine. Damn impressive for an 8 bit CPU with a 16 bit graphics system. Really, REALLY clean voice samples, too. What a game. Stellar port, considering the system's limitations.
I had a tg 16 and you couldn't find any of these great tg16 games in any Canadian stores. Turbo graphics never got a fair chance over here. That is a nice port.
I'm almost 100% sure this game suported the 6 buttons turbopad. The port was designed to play with that controller if I'm not mistaken. If that is the case your criticisms seem unfair. Also if you haven't check out another "impossible" pc engine port, try to play the fatal fury 2 port. It suffers from a few minor problems (e.g.: big bear sprite seems a tad wee iffy perhaps given it's size) and it's slightly not as good as the neo geo version. But still. You can find it using it's original name: garou densetsu special. Great channel and insightfull reviews. I love your arcade, amiga and turbografx analysis.
Those were the original names, but they were changed overseas because of fear of lawsuits form Mike Tysons lawyers. Wish they would have kept these names instead of swapping them around.
Japan M Bison=US Balrog Japan Balrog=US Vega Sagat unchanged since he was in Street Fighter I Japan Vega=US M Bison They were all shifted because Capcom USA feared a lawsuit from Mike Tyson for likeness

If we're not counting sgx cards or cds/super cds then it might be...
There are many impressive games and especially arcade conversions on the PC Engine. Even Out Run is one of the best arcade conversion.
E. Honda and M. Bison apparently have their themes in the Super Street Fighter II keys.
At times it sounds even better than the sample-fixed Genesis port. And I say this despite that port is my favourite.

I've always wondered, does the PCE / TG16 have a 6 button controller to properly play this? I can't imagine this with the default controller.
there was a 6 button pad available, but I used to play this on the Portable Pc Engine and it was really good... after a while
It's called the Avenue Pad 6.
I didn't realize they got the Shadaloo bosses' names all mixed up!

M Bison is supposed to be Mike Tyson.

@@FirebirdCamaro1220Also, Vega is a Spanish name.
In cross-cultural contexts, people say boxer, claw, and dictator to be unambiguous
Why is this the Japanese version?
Because this specific port only came out in Japan.
