It's uncanny how much this looks like a Fatal Fury game without actually ripping any art off directly. It all looks similar, but appears to be completely original artwork. Also looks surprisingly decent for an Amiga fighting game.
@@ZEBASSindeed, the letters in the title screen have the same style and colors like in Fatal Fury Special, and the world map in the character selection screen looks nearly 1:1 like in Super Street Fighter 2.
Impressive game, specially for the Amiga, it almost feels like the port of a Neo Geo game that never existed. The Fatal Fury inspiration is undeniable but it is original enough to be it's own game.
It's just proper Amiga game. Amiga was able to have perfect arcade conversions of most of the popular fighting games. It just needed hard drive and at least 4MB of RAM. The fanstastic custom chips were marvel of technology, but limiting floppy medium and lack of RAM was the main problem. So saying 'it looks good especially for the Amiga' is a joke here. And if you look for the hardware specs of the arcades at the time you'll understand what I'm trying to say. Arcade machines of the early to mid 90's had sophisticated architecture and ROM memory to store data. Many of them had multiple CPUs, additional DSP processors that were comparable to heavily pimped A4000 with more RAM and soundcard. So being honest, for a home computer and it's price Amiga was kicking ass. We can leave alone the OS and multitasking capabilities that were ahead of it's time.
Many people are criticizing this game because it's an obvious rip off. The thing is, it was only released on the AMIGA. So, it was more of giving Street Fighter, King of Fighter and Fatal Fury to AMIGA players than trying to compete with these games on SuperNes or Neo Geo. It was a rip off because the goal was to show that they could do exactly the same thing.
It's not a ripoff. It has original characters. Only it takes the art style from Neo Geo fighting games. BTW, it's actually the most complete fighting game on the Amiga. Neo Geo had like a dozen of reskinned fighting games and nobody complained. Only Amiga users are bitching for no reason every fucking time.
Let's see, we got Hwa Jai with Terry Bogard's fireball. We've got John Crawley on the same Guile inspired stage that every American soldier guy gets in a fighting game. We've got a blue Ryo Sakazaki. Yes the resemblance with Ryuken is there... and I think it was on purpose. Hokuto no Ken was HUGE in Italy. It still has a cult following. So no doubt they paid homage to it.
