My mom can out drink anyone. I make fun of my sisters bf because he talks all kinds of shit about drinking. He can down 2 30 racks of lattes and be fine, but cant do 6 shots of liquor.
Our highschool drink of choice to drink on the bus and sneak into school was Purple Passion. If you are unaware since it's limited availability these days, it's essentially Grape koolaide mixed with Everclear. It came in 2 litre bottles like soda. LOL Good stuff. We always said it was like the Purple Koolaide Man just crashed through your door after you have drank a bit. LOL
I know what you mean. My dad is a very calm, peaceful bookworm. I found out a few weeks ago that, when he was in high school, he broke some guy's legs for insulting my grandma. When the cops showed up my dad was completely honest about what happened, and the cop was like "Oh, so it was self defense. You're free to go."

First time my future husband visited my parents’ house, I forgot to warn him about my mom’s margarita recipe. He later took me aside and was panicking because he was suddenly wasted. Then he understood why I told him we never made it to see watch the fireworks on 4th of July growing up.
The recipe is so easy and probably not uncommon, and though the people I share the recipe with haven’t heard of it and call them Megaritas, I didn’t come up with it, nor did my mom. It’s just a 1-1-1 ratio of a can of beer, a can of frozen limeade, and then fill that empty limeade can with your choice of tequila and throw that in and stir it up. It’s very sweet so you don’t notice the amount of tequila, and the beer adds some slight fizz and helps cut the other flavors from being way overpowering. You can use any flavor of those frozen juice mixes, orangeade, fruit punch, cranberry, whatever, and it makes a very easy, tasty, but sneaky drink, so best warn newbies!

He shrugged after a couple of tokes and pulled a raggedy, hand rolled joint out of his pocket that set my face on fire. Turns out, the old man has been blazing since before I was born and I had no idea. This was 30 years ago and he’s still going strong.

Mom liked Vodka, I liked it too, especially if I had something to mix in like mountain view and margarita mix. Dad and sister and I all like Peachtree. Dad used to drink Jim Beam when I was a kid. Eventually he stuck with Kessler's. When I was home from college in the summers Mom worked late evening shift and on Tuesdays dad and I would go to a small bit of nowhere and a place called 'the Dawgone Saloon for 'Quarter Draw night'. Fun was had by all. 😁 This makes my family sound like alcoholics. Naw,.not even close. Mom and Dad just didn't raise us as if we were in a cage. We were told early on, if we wanted to drink we could drink, at home. There was no need to rebel so it wasn't that important to us. Also my parents friends and cousins were all alcoholics and we could see the way that road would lead us.
