Welcome to Dallas Newbies. #1- If you're not doing 90mph, stay out of the left lane! #2- Traffic is fine compared to NYC, Atlanta, most of Calif, etc. #3-There is no natural beauty, mountains, ocean, etc. which is why it's typically been the nation's #1 test kitchen for restaurant concepts. Not much else to do but the food is better and cheaper than Vegas. #4- The city is virtually recession proof even during the worst downturns because every industry is here. #5-Float around the DFW area for a few years to find your groove. Each area is very different. Birds of a feather flock to specific zip codes. #6-The property tax (if you own property) is in lieu of not have state income tax. #7- DFW Airport - that's a toll road cutting through the airport, not an airport tax. #8-Find the live music. You'll meet cool people in those places. Class dismissed for today.

As somebody who lived in Dallas for 10 years from 2008 to 2018, all of this is true. As a joke, when is the Dallas North Tollway going to be expanded to Oklahoma and when is Prosper North as I call it being developed to facilitate this? Inside joke of course. LOL

Hahaha!!! I’ve never watched a more accurate breakdown of Dallas than in this video. I moved from NYC last year and I absolutely love it, but I’m always so upset when I have to pick anyone up from the airport and it got so hot one day I literally could not get into my car. Also hated that housing prices went up so rapidly and I didn’t like what I heard about the the property taxes when I started looking for a house..simply ridiculous. All in all it’s still a great place to live and I like that I can mostly mitigate the negatives. Great video still. 👌🏽
I’ve lived in Charlotte for 3 years and am looking at moving to Dallas soon for the same reason. Thanks for the info & love your channel! You are hilarious
Long time NYC here considering a move to Dallas! Im planning to bring my business as a residential painter to service ft worth and dallas. Do you rec a good area to look?
Dallas has some live entertainment districts. The pandemic made Dallas a little boring. But lately since the weather has been nice I have been impressed how lively Dallas is now. I’ve been enjoying myself.
Very good point! I always tell people Dallas is more for the 30 and up crowd, but 20 somethings can have fun too. I’m from NC and spent most of my 20’s in Atlanta. By the time I moved to Dallas, it was perfect for me!
Thank you so much for this! I’m looking to move here from Chicago sometime next year! No one drives worse than Arizona drivers 😂 literally accidents every 30 minutes.
I have been living in both cities, houston and dallas. I highly prefer Houston over dallas. Houston has so much great food to offer and I can enjoy it anywhere in Houston. In dallas, really I actually live in plano so everywhere fun I want to go, parks. museums, great restaurants... I have to go to Downtown area vs in houston I could enjoy most in local areas. so if you live in frisco, you have drive an hour for some amusements. It does not take that long to reach Houston downtown, dallas is just not as good as I thought and provides very little space for average people to live in. If you don't wanna be mugged, you have to be rich vs in houston, you can be an average person to live safe.
I'm a Queen city native and it's really starting too basically just suck here, the housing market is getting ridiculous. my wife and I have been talking about moving to Dallas. Ive moved a few different states, but she hasn't been nowhere, but Nc I got 4 cities I'm thinking about and it's looking more and more liking Dallas.
Thanks for this I visited Dallas twice in passing for some style stuff with J. bolin and was like this may be a nice place to live but yea I see a lot of ppl are moving here just like Atlanta so I know for sure them prices is up.
I mean NYC it’s $5000 for a studio with shared laundry, that same gets you a penthouse in Dallas with a pool, gym, doorman etc, so it’s ain’t so bad, and still a 3 hour flight to Manhattan.
@@julianasekai yeah I know. Its crazy how many people are moving to Dallas and even tho the cost of living is rising its still low compared to other cities and I Love Dallas and the only other cities I could live in would be Miami or Los Angeles

Thanks for sharing!! I'm so happy to see that you are from the Charlotte area. I live in NC and I want to relocate to the Dallas area but, don't know where to start. Should I go there and rent first or look for a job first? Any suggestions? Thank You!
Every time I moved to a new city or state I made sure I had a job lined up or a substantial amount of income coming in. What helped me find a job when I moved to Dallas was putting the city I planned on moving to on my resume when I applied to jobs and on my Linkedin and Monster profiles, while disclosing I was relocating there. Recruiters would contact me with job opportunities. Also, since remote roles are more common now. You can look for a remote role (if it works for the industry you are in) that way you work anywhere.
Houston has a younger vibe with the HBCU. Dallas social/nightlife is heavily geared toward 30+ grown professionals. It's a more conservative social scene
I think your comment is a little backwards when it comes to Dallas. Most people who haven’t been here assume there is nothing to do here and go to Houston or Austin instead when in actuality, it surprises most and is a great place to live especially for the 30 and up crowd! If you don’t believe me, look at where people move to after they’ve had fun in Miami and Atlanta for 5 years or so.
