I currently live in Wa state. I have had a desire to move to Dallas for years. I have children and have been torn with taking them from being near their dad, however the urge to move is getting stronger to the point I may just pack up the car and just roll out. Thank you sharing your journey.

funny story on tickets, i was pulled over one day for a minor traffic infraction - officer went back to car. came back and told me i was under arrest and my car had to be impounded. i've never done anything illegal or even had a speeding ticket. apparently a city parking ticket i didn't pay had gone to court. they sent the court summons to an old address and since i didn't show up they suspended my license. so i was driving with a suspended license (up to 1 year in jail). all over a parking ticket. anyway had to hire a lawyer and got that cleared up but it cost me a chunk of change. - WW

Nah, it’s not a dry heat. Dallas has a humid subtropical climate. When people in Texas say “dry heat” usually they’re comparing it to the gulf coast of Texas like Houston (which has VERY high humidity). Dallas does not have a desert dry heat like Phoenix or Las Vegas.
I moved here from Atlanta 11 years ago. I packed my car and made the drive just like you did. It’s been a great experience here. 😊

Not too sound like a copycat lol, but babe when I say I’ve been considering moving from MN for MONTHS NOW; I’m so serious lbvs! Short story: I moved from WI to MN to be closer to my immediate family, but lately I’ve REALLY felt led in my spirit to move! I’m so unhappy here, mostly because where I physically! I knew in my heart that this was not for me months ago, but I tried to make it work for the sake of my 7 year -old son. I wanted to give him a better life. Now I keep having the urge to leave. I’ve been debating on Atlanta or Texas a lot! Lately I’m finding myself doing more research about Texas for some reason. Dallas isnt bad. Im from south carolina and moved to Atlanta 21 years ago. I visited and worked in Dallas for a short time. In my opinion Texas is a great move. I love the Houston area more than Dallas. But i like both more than Atlanta.

Wow! You’re video has really given me a ton of insight. The fact that I’m holding on to this job offer in Dallas due to the nervous side of leaving home is crazy. I live in Birmingham and I really been thinking for the past 4-5yrs on relocating. My top states of consideration is Texas, FL and NC. Crazy thing is Im under consideration for a position in all 3 states (But God🙌🏾)! The ending of your video........ It was def the motivational part for me! I have dealt with friends and fam telling me I shouldn’t move, it’s too far, you’re leaving your job to go try another job in another state with no friends or fam is asinine and all of that! Hi Don ! Congrats on the promotion(s) that is AMAZING !!! Haslet is considered Tarrant County . You could live in Arlington, Grand Prairie, and Fort-Worth. The fact that you have 3 offers in 3 different states is enough confirmation that your time is up in Birmingham. I’ve live in NC & I now live I TX and loved both.

Let’s connect!!! I’m moving to Dallas for a Masters program from Orlando Florida. Needed this.
I am 66 yrs old and I have traveled to the majority of the major cities in America and Dallas pound for pound is by far the best major city to be in America. First the school system in Dallas is top notch and excellent compared to other major city's and there are no state taxes but when it comes to the state of TX Dallas is by far the best. Houston is what allot texans call the armpit of the state the air is polluted with about 4-5 oil refinerys. The crime is exploding and illegals are flooding Houston to beyond total overload because they are positioned right there by the border. Austin Tx has the same similar problems as Houston. SanAntonio has 5 big military bases and is alright but Dallas has the jobs and way less crime and better schools plus as I mentioned before no state taxes. The weather does mild snow in the winter about 2x a year so its minimal. Money and jobs are flowing in Dallas. Atlanta can't touch Dallas in education Dallas has way less crime than Atlanta and Atlanta has state taxes.

I still love it here. No crazy issues it’s becoming more diverse as people move here . The cost of living is more expensive than Houston . The job market was better for me in Houston since I’m in healthcare and Houston is the largest Medical Hub in the world. I’d say it depends on what you’re seeking.

Consider Fort Worth, I've been here almost 5 years. I'm not a fan of Dallas for many reasons. Look up pros/cons videos, put in do you like living... Also, Areavibes.com scores cities on a lot of metrics. Hope this helps.

Dallas over Ft. Worth. Only move to Ft. Worth if you like living in a big, country city. It's hard to explain, let's just say it's a snoozer but Ft. Worth downtown is beautiful...that's the best part of it to me, other than that...don't live there. Austin is great! However, my cousin lived there and said all her friends worked fast food because they didn't have degrees. She has her degree so she had a great position. So, that may be something to think about.
