Hey everyone, hope you enjoy this easy mitered granny pattern. Please check the description box to see an important tip that I accidentally edited out regarding how to keep your blanket nice and straight. xx
Thank you so much for sharing this design. Instead of making it continous, I'm making squares about 14 rows deep to join together. I was given tons of yarn by some family members so it's an excellent way to use it up! Thanks again.
So inspired! I'm looking for an easy summer project that I can on road trips. I've never done granny squares or mitered anything! After watching this I can see myself doing this because your explanation was so good. And that shimmering variegated yarn is lovely!
Hi Roz this is so lovely I love your colour choices always gorgeous.thanks so much I love your channel.i know this is an older video but I love watching you..💝💝
Thank you sooo much I started to make this for my niece and a different video had me sooo confused because my blanket was looking very wonky at the ends or sides and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out why! Now I think it might be a combo of needing to add a chain intermittently and doing chain 2’s instead of 3’s for straighter edges 😊
Join as you would be a bit challenging since the final round of the square is not going all the way around the square. I’d recommend you look at my playlist for joining square techniques to see what you like best. I prefer invisible or flat seam joins for these type of squares but you might find something you like better . 💕
You add chains in the corners to help keep those corners from getting too tight as well as giving a space to place the next round of corner clusters. You can take it down to two chains if it's getting too loose or wide for you.
I don’t think it will maintain the miter effect. I could be wrong, but I think you’ll end up with stripes on one side (once you stop increasing on both sides). It would look quite pretty , though! Good idea 👍🏻
Thank you. You are so clear in your instructions. Explanation for why you are adding chains at certain points is masterful.
So happy you found it helpful, thank you ! 💕

do you have a video on how to join the mitered granny squares...can you use the join as you go method?

What is the advantage to chain 3 in the corner
You add chains in the corners to help keep those corners from getting too tight as well as giving a space to place the next round of corner clusters. You can take it down to two chains if it's getting too loose or wide for you.
If I wanted to do this with a bulky 5 yarn, what hook size would you recommend?
Your yarn label should tell you what size to use but usually it’s ranges between 6 to 9mm for a bulky 5.
Could I do the 2 sides till it was the size I want, but then keep doing 1 side to make a rectangle?
I don’t think it will maintain the miter effect. I could be wrong, but I think you’ll end up with stripes on one side (once you stop increasing on both sides). It would look quite pretty , though! Good idea 👍🏻
U crochet like me lol is it wrapped around your little finger lol
I saw a dot of blood on your left hand, did you poke yourself by accident .
lol I don’t remember . It was more likely a result of playtime with the 😺
