For as long as I’ve been crocheting which is about 40 years lol I’ve always wanted to make a granny log cabin. Yours is the best video, no waffle you just jump right in and make it very clear and easy. I might try this now ❤
Love the log cabin pattern. I use the granny square a lot. Thanks for all the information about the stitches and patterns. Live your way to hide and carry the extra colors. I am making a granny square with blue and white using your way of carry on the colors band hiding them on the back side. ❤😅
I learned to crochet when I was 10, but did nothing with it for 40 years. Your videos are the best on the internet for beginners. Thank you so much!!!!
You are an excellent teacher I finally saw a color change that I can follow and be able to complete it was so easy to do while I watched you on my tv. Thank you so much. My mother was teaching me when she passed away unexpectedly so watching you has brought back good memories. God bless.
FINALLY! A decent tutorial on this pattern. This is one I've wanted to do for a while but I didn't quite understand the process. You took the mystery out of this pattern for me. Thank you 💞💞
I love this perfectly beautiful pattern. I never knew it was called Log Cabin Granny Squares pattern !!! A long, long time ago, when I was a teen ager, I was fooling around and made a similar pattern just out of my imagination, never knowing this was a real pattern!! It's been decades that I even thought about it lol. Thank you for posting this pattern!!! I'm sure yours is much more perfect than mine would have been so long ago !!! This is so incredible to me because it has "Log Cabin" in the Title which I have always dreamed of owning some day. Well, I just turned 61 n am sort of giving up on that dream at this point, but you never know, miracles do happen n that's exactly what it would take. I have been reduced to moving back in with my Mother n it's not a happy situation here at all. Being on Disability I can't afford any place of my own right now, but who knows what will happen in the future. Sorry I rambled here, lol. I just wanted you to know, don't ask me why, lol. But thanks so much for this Video I loved seeing it!! You are an excellent Teacher !!!
That is amazing Mary! Thank you so much for sharing it with me, do you still have that blanket you made? I am sure yours was just as lovely! I am pleased you enjoy my videos too.🤗🥰
I made 4 squares approximately 13 inches, out of this pattern and joined them together to make a child’s poncho. Thank you for the great and easy to follow tutorial.
I just want to say, that as a newbie crocheter of 1 month, I really appreciate your videos. They are very easy to follow, and your voice is easy to listen to.
Ah if only we could actually crochet that fast! I've always loved the log cabin quilts and am happy to see one that's crocheted and so easy to understand! It's definitely going in my MAKE THIS section! Thanks for sharing!
Love your videos, Robin, you are the best of the crochet teachers. Fun fact for people thinking of a color palette for any log cabin design, the center square is historically red because it represents the chimney of the log cabin.
I am a beginner crocheter. I have made several granny square blankets. I had started to become incredibly bored. I actually believe I can make one of these gorgeous blankets. I'm so excited. You are an amazing teacher. 💕💕💕
Been crochet for a month not every day but when I feel I can concentrate as I am suffering mental health problems , your the only person I can follow , did a granny square monday for the first time in your tutorial it’s not perfect but best I have done so tonight when I logged onto your site this came up I am happy to say I am stopping for tonight but completed the first two colours I am so happy I can see one mistake but it’s nit too bad lol thank you so much shall continue tomorrow x
Awwh Fiona, well done. That is great progress, no putting yourself down saying it is not perfect. The truth is no crochet is perfect, so you're doing amazing! 🤗🧶
Gorgeous afghan and excellent colors used in it! I've been crocheting for over 51 years, so will be able to make this with ease. Thank you for the beautiful pattern, Robin.
I absolutely love it❣️ There's no way anyone can go wrong with your very concise instructions. It's great that you have a lovely voice which makes the tutorial even more enjoyable!!! I'll definitely make this log cabin granny square blanket this winter. I've got a large storage box full of yarn stocked up from before I started having problems with my wrists. Most of it hasn't even been used... but I don't think I have 7 colours of the same texture🤔 Thanks so much 🤗
I love this. At first I was confused on why sometimes you would end the L with 3 stitches and sometimes with one only 😂 but now I understand. I guess that's what you get for watching tutorials at 6 am. I will try this for sure. Thank you!
It was so easy to follow after you made so many rows. It was intimidating at first however I got it and made my daughter her first baby blanket. She's due in March so I'm going to make one for every month left
Your teaching is very clear, I can crochet but never had a teacher until now watching you. I'm older & wish I'd learnt this sooner in life but it's never too late to learn. Many thanks for your teachings 🤗💕💕💕
Robin I love this Log Cabin blanket. My mother in law did pieces quilts and she made a beautiful Log Cabin quilt. This will be on my list to do. Thank you for sharing it with us. And I also like to listen to you talk.
I would like to thank you for posting your log cabin stitch blanket. It's so awesome and very easy. I'm following your tutorial on this and it very easy. I'm a experienced crocheter of lots of years and just love the granny square pattern. So easy, so easy. Thank you!!!!
It definitely makes more sense once you're actually crocheting it (if that makes any sense at all!) Once the first 8 rows are out of the way it's simply 4 rows, rotate, 4 rows, rotate over and over :)
I love the blue background, makes it so much easier to see what you're doing. I have lots of scraps to make this afghan with and this stitch seems like a really easy one to do. Thanks for the tutorial.
I am liking this one. Might give it a go when I finish the Puff Border Shawl I am doing at the moment. I just LOVE your Tutorials, you are a fantastic teacher. Thank You for all the hard work. 🏴🏴🏴💕
I absolutely love it! This is perfect because I am a quilter too. I was going to make a regular granny square afghan with lots of squares but I like this so much better because it has a log cabin quilt theme to it. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this fantastic tutorial Robin.....I've been crocheting for about 8 yrs and love learning new skills, and I love ❤️ a granny blanket, so once again thank you 😊 x
This showed up as I'm finishing my first ever crochet project, which is a HUGE chunky blanket. This is such a delightful pattern, I went and bought yarn as soon as I'd finished watching it 😅 so keen to start! Thank you so much for your easy to follow tutorials & such an in-depth description box 🙏
your explanation is so clear and to the point, new favorite tutorial thank you. Being left hand is hard to lean but your video is the best. Thanks again
Excellent instruction. You make a very complicated looking blanket so easy to make. Best instruction for this pattern I've ever seen. It will be a fun winter project this year. Thank you.
That is Incredible! I tried to guess, from the thumbnail, how you constructed this. Needless to say, I wasn't even close 😅 This is like some kind of magic! Thanks so much, Robin. Great tutorial.
Magic! 😂 I hope the video helps and there is a pattern too to follow: www.hookedbyrobin.com/blog/crochet-log-cabin-blanket Thank you so much for watching!😃

Thank you Robin for the great tutorial!!! Very clear and easy to follow. I started my first one a while ago and instead of continuing to make one big blanket I've decided to make 4 squares and join them all together for a patchwork effect.
Wow! At first it looked so complicated! I’m a beginner I think I can follow this pattern. It’s working one color at a time on each side. I just have to pay close attention when I turn to make the right chain so it’s not increasing or decreasing. I will try this eventually! Thank you❤

I love this pattern. You explain everything so clearly. I can’t wait to get started. I know I can do it with the way you have explained it. I’m 70 going to get started right away. Only now… what colors! Lol❤️
Love this design. So colorful and quick with all dcs and no chains between clusters. I’m using my stash colors of Caron Simply Soft and H hook. Going great; thank you Robin for your detailed video.❤
THANK YOU !! YOU have just given me the perfect idea for the project I’ve been looking for since I bought myself 80 balls of wool last month 😅 with the idea to make a blanket but just didn’t know what style (Don’t tell my husband, he thinks I only bought 10 !🤣😉) I just love granny squares & I’ve NEVER seen this way/style before. I can’t wait to get started 😆 This is the 3rd project I’m doing using your videos- your explanations are so clear & simple to understand. Thank you for the ideas …. I’m a NEW fan !!!❤
Thanks for sharing. I'm going to make one using my left over yarn. I'm making 12 for Christmas presents this year. I've one and a half done and started a 3rd last night.
I'm going to make one with 2 colors of chunky for a baby blanket. I hope it comes out great. You did a great job teaching, so I feel sure I'll have no problems 😇🙂
Thank you so much for this video, I have been crocheting since beginning of the year and was always scared of attempting a mitre square, as you say it’s a trust the process pattern, I followed the video and now it all makes sense and going to carry on and make a full size blanket😊
Robin, your projects are always fabulous….for that reason I’m a new subscriber. Thanks for sharing your love of crocheting and your easy to follow directions❤️. Hugs🤗 P.S. the colors are fabulous❤️❤️
I’ve just started this! I’m a complete beginner as I’ve only made maybe 3 things so far 😅 but the tutorial is super easy to follow! I’ve made it a bit harder on myself by not doing color changes except when I’ve finished a skein/cake but otherwise I’m having so much fun doing this project!
Love Granny Squares? Then you'll love this video next! ua-cam.com/video/f4-6dBxkL8Q/v-deo.html 👈😀🧶

Love this design. So colorful and quick with all dcs and no chains between clusters. I’m using my stash colors of Caron Simply Soft and H hook. Going great; thank you Robin for your detailed video.❤
You're very welcome Joyce and that sounds great! I am glad it is going well.😃🧶
THANK YOU !!
I can’t wait to get started 😆
This is the 3rd project I’m doing using your videos- your explanations are so clear & simple to understand.
Thank you for the ideas …. I’m a NEW fan !!!❤
80 balls of wool...aka the dream! 🥰😂 Thank you so much for your wonderful kind comments too.x
Thanks for sharing. I'm going to make one using my left over yarn. I'm making 12 for Christmas presents this year. I've one and a half done and started a 3rd last night.
Oh wow, that sounds amazing! 😃🎄
Glad I am not the only one who has cat hair embedded into their crochet projects 😅Interesting pattern might have to give this one a go
Gotta love cats! 😂🐱 (if it's not cat hair, it's my OWN hair making it's way into my crochet 😂)
Thank you, I am now hooked on log cabin crochet blankets. 😊
Yay!😃
Simple easy but beautiful...stay blessed always...new and nice idea
Thank you so much! 🥰🧶
I'm going to make one with 2 colors of chunky for a baby blanket. I hope it comes out great. You did a great job teaching, so I feel sure I'll have no problems 😇🙂
That is a lovely idea Jody and thank you!🥰
Now I just need a log cabin, sorted!😀
😂
Thank you so much for this video, I have been crocheting since beginning of the year and was always scared of attempting a mitre square, as you say it’s a trust the process pattern, I followed the video and now it all makes sense and going to carry on and make a full size blanket😊
Absolutely trust the process, you have got this!😀🧶
Thank you so much for this pattern!! I just finished a queen-sized blanket for a wedding gift and it's my biggest project to date!
That sounds amazing Maggie!😍

Awh, thank you so much Robin! 🥰🤗
Yes yes yes......I love 💝 this so much can't wait to get started. Thank for such a great tutorial.
You're so welcome Johanna! 🥰
You are an amazing teacher!!! This one looks fun! I have made 3 mitered afghans!!
They were amazing also... and easy and fast!! Thank you!!!
It is so fun! 😃 and that’s amazing, thank you for such kind words Joyce.x
I’ve only just seen this as I was moving house but I’m so glad you enjoyed it.😃🥰
