Facts. Every time I hear this, I think of the Dragon Maleficent boss fight in KH1. She was the first true wall for me in that game. She hit so hard and all of her attacks hit such a broad area. Truly memorable song for a truly memorable boss.
@@microphonejacket Oh no doubt. He’s pretty freaking hard but in the main story line, Dragon Maleficent is a true test and she don’t fuck around either.
By far one of my favorite bosses and the best music so far :( its so good I remember listening to the demo gameplay just to listen to this music and I'm glad The Deep End is finally here :(
Yeah but watching the demo video, the deep end music does ditch some of the percussions from the final version. Might call the demo version the alternate theme
@@TM-rk2qb nah man everyone experiences the game in different ways. Glad to know you just rain on everyone's parade..your parents probably hate you huh?😂😂😂
When I fought this boss I was like this song not bad but then the original boss theme from Kingdom Hearts 1 came I was omfg, this is gonna be one hell of ride.
Ive beaten the game quite some time ago but I restarted on critical mode as a always do its pretty much tradition for me but Rock Titan was so powerful on critical so the vibe of this theme came through so hard and its not even Ansem.
This version's okay. It definitely beats the 1.5 version of The Deep End. However, the original PS2 rip still has the best sense of "threat" throughout the score variants. With 2:44, I'll put this in second place, but the true original version is better in my opinion. Maybe if the tempo was a bit faster, it would be a close-second.
@@birdygamer5224 Nice. I may be a bit biased since I played the original PS2 disc back in 2002, but whenever I compare these two, the PS2 version just "feels" like I'm fighting a dangerous foe, while the 1.5 version just... tones it down.
@@kezare569 That's cool. The more I listened to both the 1 and 1.5 versions, the more I realize that the 2002 version's background instruments are more noticeable throughout the whole loop (which is what allows it to keep its tension/threatening tone even after the chrous), while the same background instruments in 1.5 is so faint that it lacks that same level of tension in place of a somewhat more somberly-relaxing tone rather than a *"if you don't defend yourself against this you're going to die"* tone. To me, keeping "that" tone is what makes both the track and the boss a legitimate boss. For 1.5's version, something in that track just feels wrong while fighting Ursula II, Malefiscent II, Ansem, Ice Titan, and Kurt Ziza. The lack of tension in the track makes both the track and them feel lazy and boring, which is jarring since they are some of the most difficult bosses in the game (with the exception of the Rock Titan; he's earned that 1.5 version track). It feels as though the "life" of the original is sucked out in the 1.5 due to its lack of sound dynamics.
As a guy who was getting tired of returning to the same world in nearly every game (despite loving the movie), I was genuinely surprised and pleased with this installment's take on "Olympus Coliseum"...or rather, "Olympus" and the fact that I don't need to fight round after round of Heartless to progress the story.
Im not kidding but this sounds like a pokemon legendary boss theme i think of rayquaza mewtwo shadow lugia ultra necrozma Giratina and arceus when listening to this theme

The Deep End music is Kingdom Hearts's BEST boss music. Period.

Same here I was so focus because of this theme
Is it bad that I like this more than the final boss theme?
Nope
It's tied for me. Both of them are epic.
Probably because it was indeed a theme for the final boss (Ansem) from Kingdom Hearts 1. To be precise the music started to play in major battles
Arthur Slytherin
And the theme for the final form of Maleficent, who was the decoy big bad

Why is the first boss theme way better then the last boss theme?! What a misuse of talent.
because this great piece was composed of Yoko herself, while another composer scored the last one (for some freaking reason which makes no sense)
