What you requoted as "kerala being a retirement home" in its present condition is something I've been talking about myself to my family who keep insisting that I should settle in kerala. Kerala is most educated but most unemployed. Shashi Tharoor’s brilliant speech gives a clear indication of the status of employment in Kerala, besides what are the actions to be taken to bring back talent which is moved out of the state. In spite of being the most educated state, Kerala has the largest unemployment in the country. There is no doubt that this situation is the result of poor political leadership who has not only mismanaged the state but failed to understand the potential of people of Kerala. Even in the field of agriculture Kerala is blessed with abundant water from 45 rivers which no other state or country can boast of. It's an irony that people have abandoned the Gods' own land and ran away to live in desert like places like gulf countries and extreme climates like Canada and Australia. The state is best placed to develop at a fast pace , only a good leader is required who can convert the strengths to opportunities. Presently, Kerala is a hell for business with companies closing down and shifting out every other day. There are strikes and Nokku kooli for almost everything. This is driving the state to an abyss from where there is no return. Kerala needs a change of political leadership. Both LDF and UDF are equally bad. Dr Shashi Tharoor as the chief minister is the only hope. Only a person of his eminence can bring forth the reforms and to put the state on a path of progress. The bad governance has also resulted in making Kerala as one of the most indebted state in India. Since there is little business , there is little income for the state government. Thus it is dependent only on increasing taxes on fuel and liquor. External remittances have also reduced drastically. In the present situation the government is continuing to borrow unabated without any means to pay back. The per capita debt is in lakhs. To turn around the state there is a need to Reduce the size of the government, Privatise the PSUs, Prevent strikes and hartals, Protect industry from Nokku Kooli , Set up special economic zones( SEZs), invite industry leaders to set up business, encourage start-ups and Make cities smart by implementing projects on PPP model. With the best HDI in the world, Kerala is poised for growth , if only it gets the right leadership.
പറഞ്ഞത് എല്ലാം കറക്റ്റ് ആണ്..! കേരളം ഒരു ഓൾഡ് age ഹോം തന്നെയാണ്...!!! അഭ്യസ്ഥവിദ്യരായ യുവാക്കൾ ജോലി ചെയ്തു മാന്യമായി ജീവിക്കണമെങ്കിൽ എത്രയും പെട്ടെന്ന് കേരളം വിട്ടോടിയാലേ രക്ഷയുള്ളൂ...!!! ഞാൻ 20 വർഷം മുൻപ് ആ തീരുമാനം എടുത്തു... അന്ന് അത്ര അത്യാവശ്യമില്ലായിരുന്നു.... ഇന്ന് അത് അത്യാവശ്യമായിത്തീർന്നു.... എത്രയൊക്കെ പഠിച്ചാലും റാങ്ക് മേടിച്ചാൽ പോലും സ്വന്തം പാർട്ടിയിലുള്ളവരോ അനുഭാവികൾക്കോ മാത്രമേ ഈ രാഷ്രീയഭരണകൂടങ്ങൾ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്ന ജോലികൾ ലഭിക്കുകയുള്ളു!... അങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരുടെ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം പോലും പ്രശ്നമല്ല, വേണമെങ്കിൽ അവർക്കു വേണ്ടി ജോലികൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കും, ലക്ഷങ്ങൾ സാലറി കൊടുക്കാവുന്ന തട്ടിക്കൂട്ട് തസ്തികകളും ജോലികളും...!! സ്തുതിപാഠകർക്ക് മാത്രമേ എന്തെങ്കിലും രക്ഷയുള്ളൂ... ബാക്കിയെല്ലാം ചത്തു ജീർണ്ണിച്ചു ഇവറ്റകൾക്ക് തന്നെ വളമാവും... ഈ ശവം തീനികൾക്ക്...! രക്ഷപ്പെടാൻ കഴിയുന്നവർ രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടോളുക... ഇത് കാണുമ്പോൾ വിഷമമുണ്ട്... എന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ മകൻ ഈ അവസ്ഥയിലൂടെ കടന്നു പോകേണ്ടി വരും.. ഇപ്പോൾ പഠിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഓരോ കുട്ടികളും ഈ അവസ്ഥ നേരിടേണ്ടി വരും.. സാഹചര്യങ്ങൾ കൂടുതൽ വഷളാവും... കാരണം ഗൾഫ് എല്ലാത്തിനെയും പുറത്താക്കി ശുദ്ധികലശം നടത്തിത്തുടങ്ങി... I really wonder why a person like Shashi Tharoor is not chosen to lead the Congress party, as he alone can bring unity and a new vigour to the party! I hope commonsense prevails!
Kerala is most educated but most unemployed. Shashi Tharoor’s brilliant speech gives a clear indication of the status of employment in Kerala, besides what are the actions to be taken to bring back talent which is moved out of the state. In spite of being the most educated state, Kerala has the largest unemployment in the country. There is no doubt that this situation is the result of poor political leadership who has not only mismanaged the state but failed to understand the potential of people of Kerala. Even in the field of agriculture Kerala is blessed with abundant water from 45 rivers which no other state or country can boast of. It's an irony that people have abandoned the Gods' own land and ran away to live in desert like places like gulf countries and extreme climates like Canada and Australia.
The state is best placed to develop at a fast pace , only a good leader is required who can convert the strengths to opportunities. Presently, Kerala is a hell for business with companies closing down and shifting out every other day. There are strikes and Nokku kooli for almost everything. This is driving the state to an abyss from where there is no return. Kerala needs a change of political leadership. Both LDF and UDF are equally bad. Dr Shashi Tharoor as the chief minister is the only hope. Only a person of his eminence can bring forth the reforms and to put the state on a path of progress.
The bad governance has also resulted in making Kerala as one of the most indebted state in India. Since there is little business , there is little income for the state government. Thus it is dependent only on increasing taxes on fuel and liquor. External remittances have also reduced drastically. In the present situation the government is continuing to borrow unabated without any means to pay back. The per capita debt is in lakhs.
To turn around the state there is a need to Reduce the size of the government, Privatise the PSUs, Prevent strikes and hartals, Protect industry from Nokku Kooli , Set up special economic zones( SEZs), invite industry leaders to set up business, encourage start-ups and Make cities smart by implementing projects on PPP model.
With the best HDI in the world, Kerala is poised for growth , if only it gets the right leadership.
