She dragged the barrel out into the pond-mind you, without stepping in anything or touching the mud-but still made footprints with a second pair of shoes she then ate, hopped on into the barrel, waited to OD or asphyxiated herself while closing the lid. Oh and she did all of this several days after she went missing so her body could look pretty for the open casket.

There isn’t a motive for anyone so it’s very possible a police officer did it based purely on the piss-poor police work and the fact the killer left a lot of evidence they were there that was just ignored.
I think the beer cans are a distraction. The killer was pretty obviously thinking clearly when they did this. Otherwise they wouldn’t have removed her body and taunted her case. The voicemail being calm also rules out any drunken stupor. Whoever did this has experience either with crime scenes or with murder as well based on their actions. They also knew they wouldn’t get caught *because* they left that voicemail and a lot of DNA evidence. So they either knew the police wouldn’t do their job right or they are a cop and knew they’d be backed. Whoever did this either is a cop or at least has ties to cops. It can’t just be shitty police work. This was digging in their heels and refusing to investigate.

Here’s what I think may have happened: The man who left the voice mail could have been payed/ tricked into leaving it, and the person who killed her knew that the man who left the voicemail was interested in her. The reason why she looked relaxed when she died may be because she could have been slipped something in a drink by someone she knew (Since there were beer cans is her yard). I can’t think of why the car would be in a different spot than it usually is other than the fact that someone else drove it (But why?). This is my first time leaving a “theory” comment, so I’m sorry if it sounded disrespectful. I absolutely do not want to come across as disrespectful. I hope the family and friends can get closure. If it was someone she didn't know I'm sure she wouldn't have gotten out of the car. Or, there isn't an explantion about her drive home from her shift (the route, how long, quiet/busy roads etc.) - perhaps she was driving and saw someone she knew, or someone was waiting for her at her car in the hospital carpark
