Welcome to day two of the conference

In this session, we will hear from two members of the Theme Leadership Group who direct the Theme's activities.
Heather Innes, President, Highland's and Islands Students' Association and Student Theme Leader
Heather reflected on the student-led project that explored the potential benefits of community partnerships in further and higher education. Specifically, looking at how such partnerships could enhance students' learning and teaching experiences and their engagement with the local community.
Professor Ruth Taylor, Vice Principal Education, University of Aberdeen and Deputy Theme Leader
Ruth reflected on being a member of the Theme Leaders Group for three years, focusing on evidence-based approaches and meeting student needs in the higher education sector. She goes on to highlight the importance of Resilient Learning Communities and how it allowed the sector to prioritise the needs of both students and staff.
