The attention to detail and the way kids play with Barbie is pretty amazing. The whole look of the film is beautifully done. There's so much to look at!
This is what we want to see in a live Action movie, it doesn't have to be realistic and it doesn't need to make sense because realism strips the fantasy away. I'm definitely excited to see Barbie in the cinema!
It will be in the future trust me. You think that will just go to the garbage or even recycled? No way. It will be for the public and of course you have to pay! Nothing is free! Lol
I knew Greta was the woman for this because I've always admired her attention to detail in the cinematography, inflection of an actor's voice and the way they should dress, walk and talk. The fact that she thought "you never bring your Barbie down the stairs, she floats down to the car by the grip of a little girl's hand" is just asdihweoguhreog I´m in love already
I'm amazed at her level of thoughtfulness and that of her team! She also gave her collaborators a lot of freedom which I loe. Like asking Issa Rae what SHE thinks the president of Barbieland would wear: the sash and dress were Rae's idea.
Not a Barbie-fan and i dont think i’ll get the boys on this but i hope it does well. This kind of crafting and attention to detail is exactly what the movies are missing these days.
I couldn't describe the feeling until Greta said that you just want to "reach and touch everything" and then reminded us of what standing in front of all the Barbies in Toys R Us was like....I totally remember that feeling and feel that when I see the trailer! Can't wait for the movie
In the beginning of the video it says, “Margot Robbie/producer/Barbie”. I didn’t realize Robbie was also a producer on the movie! This actress is truly an icon! The roles she plays are all so versatile and she nails every single 1! She’s definitely a girl crush! Not just because she’s stunning but also because she is amazingly talented!
They did such an amazing job, my mind just couldn’t wrap around the idea that the houses were actual human size and that everyone hadn’t been shrunk down and put into a toy land!
I love how “physical” the set is! And the backgrounds are handmade? That’s even better! Just shows that craftsmanship still have a place in filmmaking. You don’t need to rely on CGI entirely.
EXACTLY! I'm loving how Hollywood is slowly going back to its older roots and tricks for making movies. There's so much charm and character that always surprises me. I always loved seeing the behind the scenes content and seeing the imagination come to reality. All the long concepts. All the little details. It's incredible. I've been watching a LOT of movies that bring back to the pre-CGI/early CGI times (i.e., The Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, Cabinet of Curiosities (Made in 2022 but uses little to no CGI)) and letting puppetry, SFX makeup in maximum detail, and set lighting for the PERFECT moods is SO worth it.
It would be so cool if in the future they use the set for tourism purposes cuz the set is just too perfect to just throw away after the filming. The set is a perfect opportunity to use for a fun area for both adults & kids to feel nostalgic while possibly eating Barbie themed foods 😊
My sister is so happy that Barbie's dreamhouse (and the other parts of Barbie Land) are exactly how they should be (and there's so much pink). She said this is way better than the very bleak Alfea in "Fate: The Winx Saga".
The clueless reference, the way it looks like a barbie dreamhouse, and every prop shown is how we know it's gonna be a masterpiece. They know their audience and have such a vision I'm so excited.
TOTALLY agree! Time for the girls to step up. I got a few ideas myself and I hope to bring them to life someday. Just seeing so many people with wonderful imaginations and creative hands makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and out.
I remember I used to have a Barbie dream house when I was little. Playing with Barbies is my childhood. I collect Barbies and I keep them in their boxes
As someone who used Barbies and always paid special attention to how the toys were made, this is perfectly accurate in every way. This needs to win an Oscar for Production Design. I can't accept any other suggestions.
The crew definitely put heart and soul into the set design. You can definitely tell, and it's impressive. Not many movies lately have this intricate level of design due to using CGI/green screen instead. I hope this movie wins some set design awards.

The fact that they actually thought of letting AD into the set - they know the buildings are also essentially part of the Barbie brand, the designs, the colours. Amazing.

The studio did an outstanding job creating this set down to the details. I want to go play on the set and get a feel of feeling like a Barbie doll!!! 🤩😍
Barbie is gonna be one of the best films in movie history I just feel it. I mean the sets, the meta humor, the references, the acting, the soundtrack. If there was such a thing as the perfect movie, its definitely this movie
They will make the script dark (Barbie thinking about death? Seriously?), the entire character of Ken will be stupid, and we have already seen girls smashing baby dolls in the trailer. I hope I am wrong, because the set is amazingly cute... But Hollywood today cannot be sincere to save its life. Even though it just needed a simple, satisfying story that girls would like, we won't get it.
@@suburbanbanshee I think you're missing the point of the film. Literally everything you just mentioned is why its gonna be so great. Its a movie that doesn't take itself seriously. I think it's a complete waste if actual children (and/or people who used to be children) never get to see it. I'd pay for an entire cross world trip to the US specifically to go see Barbieland.
Yeah, forget disneyworld, i wanna visit barbieland
Great idea! Also, I don't know what it's made of, but it also feels like a literal waste if they just throw it all away once the movie's done 😅
They have achieved what Disney has consistently failed to do with their live action movies.
I just watched wolf of wallstreet and just said she looks like a Barbie ❤
There is actually something like this in Canada. A life-size Barbie world.
You can look it up, I don’t know much details 😂
As a child who always dreamed about Barbie house and never got one, this is just stunning. I wanna go live there.

The part about Barbie floating down because nobody walks their Barbies down the stairs is nothing short of genius. As a huge doll lover and collector, I am in love with how much intelligence and detail has been put into this movie.

This film has a Oscar sniff to it for the most amount of Pink used in a film
i loved your videos so much as a kid :)
😄😄😄😄😄😄
Only when the Oscar is pink, too
Apparently there is a world wide shortage on the color pink, due to the set. 😄 At least so i’ve read.
Love how Pink is given a cap ;)
The dreamhouse came straight out of a fairytale book. It really is something Barbie would want to live in. As always, this channel is always the best at what they do.
It came straight out of a toy catalogue
Just like disneyland, there should also be a Barbie land for people to visit.
The fact that they actually build the set and not use CGI for everything makes everything more beautiful

N that bavkground painting is amazing
Fun Fact: this film made a pink shortage lol
Tough competition to christopher Nolan

It was a thing. Now it's a rarity sadly
it would be cool, but im afraid of *those* people that would ruin these beautiful architecture for "fun" :(
If this was the 90s, maybe, these days everything is done against a green screen.
It kind of is a thing, like at Universal Studios, Disneyland, Hobbiton and Ghibli World, but agree that it should definitely be more of a thing!!
this set literally feels so unreal and SO REAL AT THE SAME TIME 😭😭 ITS LITERALLY LIKE LOOKING AT A HUGE DOLLHOUSE
I love the fake pool🥹

Just testing the pinks on camera would have been fun.
i’ve actually never seen anything quite like this before. The attention to detail and just the size of the whole thing is honestly mind-blowing. “Barbie” should definitely win some awards for the production design.
I recall they actually constructed an imitation of a large part of pre-war Gion, Kyoto for Memoirs of a Geisha. Most of the movie was actually filmed in the US which is impressive, all issues aside.
This deserves an oscar for one of those production and costume design categories at least. This is my childhood come true.
I highly doubt that it will I just hope that it will be but we have to wait and see if it is.
This movie deserves quite a few Oscars for design, costumes, cinematography...

The decal fridge is so on point. And using the transparent boxes as wardrobes. They really thought of everything and I love it.

I am deaf, so watching movies in theaters without subtitles is very hard for me, but I will actually go to a movie theater for the first time in almost 5 years just to see this, I love everything about it and I fully support all the artists who put so much thought and detail and effort into this movie

Whoever's doing the PR for this film is doing a tremendously great job. It's not out till the latter bit of July and I've been seeing it everywhere for months! Hats down to the promo team!
The actors are also doing a worldwide promo in person this summer. The tickets are already sold out. Seems they didn't have any promo budget limitations for this one.

it also helps that its releasing the same day as oppenheimer, the competition keeps the talk for both films!
Hello friend!
I swear I remember reading it was June 21st
Growing up as a young boy in the late 70’s, not allowed to play with my sisters Barbie toys, but desperately wanting to, this literally brings tears to my eyes… It’s everything I could ask for and more 💕
Same! But I became an obsessed adult collector… So, still not allowed to play with the toys lol But my display room is everything to me 💕
Meanwhile, I wanted to play with my brother’s action figures and really disliked that they gave me Barbie instead.
Welcome to the current year my friend. Come enjoy the Barbie movie with us! :D

This is what we want to see in a live Action movie, it doesn't have to be realistic and it doesn't need to make sense because realism strips the fantasy away. I'm definitely excited to see Barbie in the cinema!
Exactly ! Let the fantasy flourish. Go wild. Pop the colors.
Looking at you, Disney. Smh.
Y'all say this until it's a Marvel movie😭😭😭
Yes. I laughed when. She mentioned floating off the edge instead of using the stairs. We all did that as lil girls.
I wish that they'll put the set into a museum or something where people can experience it themselves
It will be in the future trust me. You think that will just go to the garbage or even recycled? No way. It will be for the public and of course you have to pay! Nothing is free! Lol
Yessssssss! I was never even a barbie fan, only wanted to do their hair😂, but would love to tour it!
yes! absolutely
@@Moebad1111 But you should still pay to go in. If it's for free, people and the public will destroy the set.
@@Moebad1111 Yes. No way Greta will get rid of it entirely and out of the public. Just too legendary and precious. For her, like everyone.
What does "asdihweoguhreog" mean? Can't find it in a dictionary.
@@bensmyth450 it's random keyboards, I meant to express excitement, it doesn't mean anything 😅
Not a Barbie-fan and i dont think i’ll get the boys on this but i hope it does well. This kind of crafting and attention to detail is exactly what the movies are missing these days.
The people who worked on the architecture and costumes for this film need to be more in the spotlight, it's just incredible!

I couldn't describe the feeling until Greta said that you just want to "reach and touch everything" and then reminded us of what standing in front of all the Barbies in Toys R Us was like....I totally remember that feeling and feel that when I see the trailer! Can't wait for the movie
I love the way they really took a childs perspective and built around that as a main concept. Just perfect
