Thank you for your comments. First off, I would like to assure you this shoot was real and not created in photoshop. The shoot was conducted in the S. Pacific in a country where swimming with whales is 100% legal. The shoot was conducted with an operator that adheres to the highest international standard for interacting in the wild with whales. We waited patiently over 6 days for this interaction, waiting for that moment when the calf approached us. Lastly, humans interact every day with whales in the wild...but mostly in a negative way. Humans blast them with sonar, run over them with large ships, pollute their waters, entangle them in discarded fishing gear and even deliberately kill them in several regions. Through connection with these magnificent beings in their own habitat, we learn to appreciate them more and inspire others to do the same. Many members of this forum have also traveled to locations where whale interactions are legal and experienced the same joy and connection.
I appreciate your courage and passionate advocacy! I call myself Kyane, the mermaid nurse and I just started a page on fb 'secret mermaid stuff" and its twofold purpose is to protect the oceans and help women heal from violence by living creatively!
I did NOT expect the last part of this video. It nearly made me cry. This is too sad; these creatures are too beautiful, too peaceful, to deserve such harsh treatment. The whaling MUST be stopped.
It's all real encounters. We traveled to the South Pacific to swim with these whales. It took a week of being out on the open sea to get lucky enough to shoot what you see here.
Thankyou for sharing your incredible gift Hannah, and for sharing such an important message of senseless cruelty and betrayal....and Shawn....brilliant film.
Simply breathtaking! You Hannah are a truly beautiful soul! I hope people don't betray them again. We should appreciate these wonderful kind creatures. God bless x
This was an AMAZING and Powerful video. I cannot stand seeing these gentle and graceful creatures hurt like that, Hannah you are my biggest role model thank you for this.
Heartbreakingly beautiful. Thank you Hannah 🙏 you're a true inspiration to me. I hope to be like you when I grow up. (I'm 29;) heh. Seriously though- I saw that Whale Wars episode and saw the body be drug on deck and the giant smear of blood and the image and heartbreak has never left me. And the heart seems to break more and more all the time with every new Betrayal I learn of. Thankful you see and feel it too and are breaking hearts yourself... open hopefully.
Omg the last part was horrible to watch. You are such an inspiration for me and I want to be able to do this when I grow up but I can't stay afloat so still got a while lol. Anyways amazing video it's truly touching!!
Humans should know any better than that. Hannah, keep on going with these motivational vidoes of yours. Spread the word of the ocean and its creatures.
The one they shot? Yeah, eventually. An explosive harpoon to the guts is generally going to be fatal eventually, and they did haul it aboard and chop it up, so yes, within a few minutes that one was about as dead as either of these two guys: ua-cam.com/video/crpNBbxJ15Q/v-deo.html
