The dev needs to let poison stack. That way tougher enemies can feel the pain. Like stacked up to 20 on a boss might be a useful ability. As is, it's pretty bad.
Agreed, the poison damage is just so meh in the game, by the time you get the Fang or Toxic Stench evolves it the poison doesn't really do much to anything.
And they just updated the game today so that Poison/Burn can stack with each other, and among themselves. It also seems they reduced the damage a single stack of either does; however, since the same weapon can apply multiple stacks, 1 per hit, it's fine. A maxed Blaze against a boss at point blank, with it's 11 shots now applies 11 stacks of burn. And that's on top of other poisoning/burning weapons.
Ultimate build I found is a very tanky one, the Wristband of Grudge that increases your damage as you get damaged synergizes great with the Armor of Thorns which damages enemies that hit you, and throw on an Elixir of Health so you can eat all the damage taken combine that with some upgrades to your regen and you can literally just stand on a boss and chomp it's health to zero super quick.
Your Army of Ruin vids have convinced me to buy it! I love the AOE build... Ogol with the Wolfs Fang, Fireballs, Toxic Stench, Necro Gauntlet and then Magnifier and Bracer for attack speed, can almost remain completely static with it, I also find levelling the weapons early is better than taking trinkets early. Great game! keep the vids coming :)
I've been really enjoying playing Army of Ruin. I purchased it after Toms first video on it. I've already got 6.9 hours of play time on it. I'm really loving the variety and the progress on which you unlock new things. Honestly with how many games I buy after watching Tom play, I wish he got money off of referrals 😄
Bwahaha I had such a amssive brain fart. When you mentioned Simon my reaction was: "Oh wow, a Yogscast reference. Didn't expect to hear that here." Then I remembered who you are rofl.
dont get extra weapon and trinket slots until you are running longer stages, and have the XP boost fully levelled, otherwise its just a waste and you wont evolve much
Outside of achievement hunting, there's no point in ever using certain evolved weapons. Wolf Fang is better than Dire Fang, because it means you aren't forced to take 2 Nature trinkets, unless you actually want the trinkets for their effects. Blaze, which comes with a character you don't have yet, is way stronger at killing elites and bosses than it's evolved version which is better for mobbing. Also, that coin trinket you keep skipping gives you a % of your xp bar per coin/crown you pick up. At level 1, it gives 5% of your xp bar, so it takes up to 20 coins/crowns to level you up. At level 2, it gives 10%, so it takes up to 10 coins/crows to level up. The effectiveness tapers per level fro 3 to 5, capping at 18% per coin/crown. However, it's still a better way to level than the Scroll, as it's fixed chunks of your overall bar. So if you need 100,000 to level up and enemies give 10 xp when killed, even with +110% xp from max scroll and shop upgrade, it will take 4,762 enemies, or up to 6 coins/crowns.
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1127 Just a grand time, do enjoy this game You know, the Green and Purple always makes me think of the Green Goblin, or an old TV show I used to watch as a toddler OOO new character for next time, can't wait :D I do enjoy robits myself :D
I know this is EXACTLY the same type of game as you usually play (HoloCure, the cowboy game, the roguelike,...), but I really feel like the artstyle doesn't do this game-genre justice... The 3D artstyle/animation makes it look very slow and chunky (probably cuz I'm used to that artstyle being in shooters and MOBA games...

Poison and Burn both need to stack.

As it is, it's a 10%ish buff that goes up if you miss an attack. That's not a terrible buff.

@@AhranMaoDante Sweet! Love it when devs listen to fans (sometimes).
It's always grand when you can tell that Tom is genuinely having a good time with a game. Also, happy 2023 everybody!

Tom really does recommend the _best_ games by having good taste.

I really love the graphics and art style of this game. Well played.
Tom, you should try One step from Eden, it's a fun roguelike.
I'm also enjoying this game really much. Hope you keep playing for a while!
