Great video~! I like the jig and will probably make one of these, as I need a tenoning jig...looks the same. I'm doing these joints now for the Thuma-style bed I'm making. I wish that I could use this jig for these joints, but the depth of the posts is 4"...deeper than my tablesaw can handle, so it's hand-tools in action. Can't wait to see the finished product~!

Great comment, because I was watching this to try to do a similar project. Curious how the hand tools worked out for you

I cut 12 of these by hand last year for my outdoor kamado cart! Great jig, makes the joint effortless!

New subscriber! The way you talk through your thinking on cutting things to the right sizes, and your reasons for using MDF and eschewing glue on your jigs were the convincing factors. It's all a very pragmatic and logical approach to woodworking!

Your timing is impeccable!! Not only do I need to make a tenoning jig for my table saw, but I wanted to incorporate the castle joint into my next project - a wall mounted liquor cabinet. Got your plans, now its time to head back out to the shop. Keep up the great work, love all your videos.

Hi Thanks for the video. I think I'll give this a go. I get the feeling there is more on the way too. I also have the incra miter gauge but even though its dialled in at 90 I find I cant make precise angled cuts like you're doing, I notice there is some small deflection of the fence if I push right on the far end. Have you had any problems with yours? it would be really cool if there was a way to make a sled that fits the gauge and you could hold the work piece down whilst cutting like the incra miter express, without paying out silly money for some red MDF with a hold down.

I’m curious why you went with adjustment knobs on the jig itself and riding the jig against your fence instead of building the jig over your fence and letting your fence be the adjustment point.
