There's something to be said for the principle of altruism. Giving without want or expectation of return. You have to really share from a space of genuine joyful gratitude and not claiming credit for it. Wonderfully awesome things come your way when you do and *that* for me is the miracle of the universe.
@Lukas Einstein said something like "reality is an illusion, albeit a very persistent one!' LOL! Having considered the necessity of ‘sides’ to things, like good and evil, up and down, even happy and sad, I’ve finally concluded that the concept is not a necessity for existence. Unlike the ancient concept of Oneness, which is realized upon one’s enlightenment, my perspective was reached through some writers such as Marin Reese and his book Just Six Numbers wherein he explains how the conditions of this universe do allow for our existence, but that just small alterations could have made it very different. This type of study along with a persistent thought regarding GOD and the concept of a Kingdom wherein no pain or suffering exists kept me thinking. Currently I see this reality as a set of conditions that creatures cannot escape, regardless of their impressive stubbornness to do so. Everyone dies. No one WANTS to die and all (mentally/physically sound) resist it with extreme vehemence. Everyone contributes something to the negative ‘side’ of things here, even the most benign individual. However, life/death; good/evil; etc. are facets only of this reality and are NOT necessary in all ‘reality’. This reality is as Shakespeare said, a stage. More like a demonstration. Here we get to actively witness the destructive nature of choosing to be selfish in a free will realm. Everyone has free will, everyone endures repercussions or benefits of choices made by self AND others. Here evil is clear, and yes, created by GOD to show how selfishness and ego/pride can corrupt. We have the parameters of space - that is length, height and width, along with the parameter of Time. In addition there are natural laws - gravity etc., all of which show result of choice one way or another. This is all about choice and there is plenty of evidence to observe that can assist us in making proper choices, but still we fall because our own pride and lack of understanding interfere with reason. When the Creator’s work is complete, we will not be restricted to such parameters as they will no longer serve a purpose. Rather, having free will still, we will also have perfect understanding that will allow for right choices every instance. I cannot even imagine what we will be able to know and do in such a world with a reality so different than this very limited one. Sorry so long, I have much to say on this topic, but time and space restrict me to this bit😊 Be well, be wise.
The strive to an ideal self we aim at, is the reason behind judgment. Suppressing or acceptance are just emotional states. Of course we all have shadows, but some act upon it, others don’t. It is an emotional state of being, the acceptance of the shadow. Acceptance doesn’t mean acting upon. Here’s where self discipline kicks in. The ego is like a small child. If you give in, to the child every time it cries, although well fed, then it becomes spoilt and entitled. Lean the child off gently but firmly. It really is simple and doesn’t need so many difficult metaphors. It takes practice and time. It doesn’t happen at once. Monasticism is the reason behind suppressing emotions. It is complete denial of the human need for survival. If we give the ego enough to survive, all the extras are just excessive needs for gratification, to discipline. Plus if you don’t master the art of restraint, everything will become boring and ordinary in the end. The art of restraint is what gives you massive pleasure from the smallest things. Even a simple smile can give you gratification.
Thank you brother from Los Angeles Ca. This page has been so revealing. I am so appreciative of your time. Thank you for taking the time to present complex philosophy in a poetic and understanding method.
Individual self realization gets corrupted by society and even upbringing. It is important to take time out through study and meditation break down a corrupted barrier. It takes time....
I agree. In looking closer at it, the shadow and the self are not seperate, the self becomes shadowed over time. The shadow consists of our creation, societal creation and upbringing, all created from beliefs, to break down the barrier, a much deeper look at beliefs should be done and reality should not be denied,,,the reality has a tendancy to shine much stronger then the belief, if one is willing to see it . According to Jung, the ego is the self and can be quite the conundrum, all depending upon the company we keep.
This is exactly what i needed to hear according to my nearest development. There is indeed a Creator. What a Strange world we have within us which does not fit to the environment out of the human nature. Assalamualeikum.
Agreed, discovering our Shadow, both individually and collectively is probably the most important thing we can do as a species to avoid our endless, and destructive Tribal cycles of hating on the ebil Other. Though even when we try, the really hard part is HOW to identify our Shadow 'stuff'... which wants to remain hidden by its very nature.
Spot on! Love it! Shadow work is a lot like the Alchemical marriage in spiritual alchemy. When those two areas balanced people are simply healthier. Thank you!
Very much so! A lot of Shadow Work has to do with the integration of opposites. And when opposites merge, an alchemical marriage and divine child emerges from the union of opposites. It's a bit like how the combination of the poles of man/woman coming together in intercourse to create a child. Only it is on the internal level, and the child that is created is an ever more exalted version of the self.
I love this channel, so the way you should analysis your crush is the same, but no the same, with the people what you averse. One is about your past and the other is about your inner personality.
Never forget that going back and checking on your earliest versions can be a tricky mind-game. The human mechanism is built up this way, so that patterns, experiences and traumas of the beginning of the earhly life can be processed and dealt with ongoingly. There is nothing to be done, absolutely nothing, apart from releasing the mental and emotional baggage of the experiential inscriptions. Nothing could have been done in a different manner. Engage with releasing mental patterns and sticking to the present moment, just observing will heal you, no regrets, no guilt. I will soon upload my own experience from mindfulness, so that others can benefit! Blessings for all!
Rybar Fear is always the biggest barrier to integration. And fear of undermining one’s own self-image of goodness makes it especially difficult to shine light on the Shadow. And are some genuinely dark things in the unconscious mind. In everyone there are drives that are downright barbaric and murderous. The conflict of good and evil is in the collective unconscious... so everyone has that dark drive inside of them. But it’s also very impersonal. It can be observed and to really that it means nothing about you as a person or your sense of worth. And the Shadow is also a treasure trove of untapped potential. But you must face the dragon to get the treasure from the cave.
@@TheDiamondNet Thanks, you helped me think about something that made me unsettled. You put it in a way that relieves my worry that the video states to "integrate" therefore simply accept those dark aspects. Just because something is part of your shadow and thought patterns doesn't mean it's worth anything to you - the acknowledgement of the feeling itself is its killer; much like we don't get stuck on thinking about how the sky is blue all the time or why sugar tastes sweet, we simply accept those things and don't mind it. That's the basis for freeing yourself from the string-pulling of your shadow.
Hi Rybar. The voice that says that ["I'm terrified that my "true self" is something sick and horrible"], and the identification to what that voice says is what is sick and horrible. The recognition that this is so is the beginning of freedom from that voice and the beginning of an extraordinary journey into the natural beauty of who we truly are.

it's true; we've all created a fake personality; one that we believe best helps us navigate our way through life. At our very core, however, we are ALL the same. That is to say, the 'Light' within, that which gives us life, comes from the same 'Source' as EVERY other living thing's Light. Thus, when we bring harm to another, we, in fact, bring harm to ourselves. This is what is meant by, "We are one."
Anyone with a chronic medical condition should explore the work of Dr. John Sarno and Steve Ozanich. Many conditions are caused by repressed emotions and what Sarno referred to the reservoir of rage. This lies in the unconscious. Excellent video! Thank you

While Carl Jung wasn't discredited, exactly, his theories don't necessarily hold up to modern science. BUT! This is still a good theory -- knowing yourself, including those things you don't like, is the first step in ultimately either accepting and integrating them, or accepting they are there and then working to change them. You can't do either without knowing _what_ they are.
Can you elaborate? Or is it just not backed by science? I think all of us feel that there's some truth to his ideas. It's not like we understand the human psyche at this point. Far from it.
@@hgzmatt Oh, you're right, no doubt he had some good ideas that still ring true today, and was a pioneer, coming up with foundational concepts that no one had thought of before. And a lot of his archetypes are still used in contemporary writing. (Keeping in mind I'm not psychologist, just a layman with an interest that took a few classes in psychology and biology. Jung fascinates me partly due to his influence.) But as you say, a lot of it has no scientific backing and (unsurprisingly, since he was working from the early 20th century perspective) some of it has been found incomplete -- such as his focus on the role of dreams. That dreams reveal unconscious traumas or desires -- think of interpreting a disturbing dream with snakes as repressed phallic symbols, for example. He was right that humanity does have some common underlying patterns (a lot of cultures have heroes in their stories, and a surprising number of Cinderella-type tales), and his idea of archetypes may have some basis, but his way of looking at some things was without the benefit of 21st century knowledge of the brain. Now we know that sometimes, a dream IS just a dream, and one theory is that they are a way to encode events into long-term memory storage. A dream of snakes could simply be a result of you half-listening to a nature documentary that day, and not a sign of unconscious conflict. It isn't that dreams _can't_ be significant, but to Jung the idea of unconscious symbolism as a way to peer into the inner psyche was key to his approach. As relates to this video, I think one issue I have with Jungian psychology is what I perceive as the seeming 'passive acceptance' that is often implied alongside the idea of a negative Shadow, or the implication it must be 'integrated'. That it's this bugaboo that we can do nothing about and will grow ever-stronger if we 'repress' it. (A quick example I can think of where this might be taken wrong would be someone with anger issues deciding they should 'acknowledge and integrate their anger to become whole', rather than learning effective anger management skills that would teach them how to 'repress' it.) Also, this was before the ideas of evidence-based CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), that chemical imbalances can affect moods and thoughts, and recent discoveries that the brain can be 're-wired' to some degree -- an idea that didn't exist in Jung's time. No one knew that consistent, negative emotions or thought patterns (in OCD, for instance, or borderline personalities) can correlate with structural changes, or even be _reinforced_ by focusing on or accommodating them. It's known now that persistent negative or unwanted thought patterns _can_ be reduced/replaced/overcome, and don't have to be accepted as immutable or inevitable. Where I think Jung got it right, though, is his idea that you first have to understand and acknowledge those 'negative' parts of your psyche and where they come from before you can address them. (He just didn't have the knowledge and tools we have today when advising what to do about it.) His other theories such as Synchronicity (he was a believer in the paranormal), have been relegated to pseudoscience, and the Ego concept may seem a little simplistic now and has been expanded on, but like you said -- we're far from knowing everything. I guess it's just a matter of building and revising as we learn more, which is a lot easier now that psychology has become part of the accepted sciences. Heh, sorry this become so long. It just... grew.
@@bacchante1 No, it's great. Thanks for that. I was worried you would discredit all his ideas. The idea of integrating the shadow is something that goes against the idea of political correctness which seeks to ban and ignore anything that's not safe. I agree with the notion that you should be aware that you are in fact dangerous so you only bring it out when required. I can see it in people who try hard to stay nice but eventually they burst and the ugly comes out. This is what prevents a new holocaust more so than banning symbols.
@@hgzmatt Sure, but here's something to think about -- you see people who try hard to stay nice and eventually burst, yes. But you have _no_ idea how many people work hard to stay nice and _succeed..._ because their success makes them invisible. It's the _failures_ that people see. And it's their visibility makes people think, 'Well, obviously, trying to hold it in doesn't work.' Because if it _works,_ you'll never know! I'm guessing that are a lot of people who others think are lifelong sweethearts or with upbeat, positive attitudes who have darker aspects, urges or tendencies that they have privately decided they are _not_ going to let get the upper hand -- and so the people around them never even find out they had struggles to begin with. Just some food for thought!
If we are beings that are in fragmentation how can we integrate aspects of our self that hurt ourselves and others ? How can we control not hurting others or ourselves subconciusly? For instance: being in a person's dark side to murder people should that person accept that? Or should that person heal to change it? This is where I get lost, isnt it to try to change it a way to scape from it? Whitch is the oposite to accept it?.
Carl Jung the psychiatrist that in his heart truly wanted to write fiction novels. He literally is just writing a fancy story with scary words, about how people are selfish or altruistic in their decisions. He's taken far too seriously just because he makes it sound more entertaining than what it really is. It's almost as if he has a cultive personality, that makes people feel special.

You have to really share from a space of genuine joyful gratitude and not claiming credit for it. Wonderfully awesome things come your way when you do and *that* for me is the miracle of the universe.
The point of altruism is not to expect any reciprocal benefit.
Miracle of the universe, I like that!!
@Flying Solo Thank you b🙏🙏
The mind/ego, shadow, and personality are "outside" of YOU! You don't HAVE a soul, you ARE a soul!
I love it when you talk about the shadow. It fascinates me.
I had a dark shadow cross my wall one day.
There has to be *darkness* for us to see the light.
only in the parameters of this reality. duality is an illusion.
Makes sense
exactly
O'SSÉIN - Master Your Mind With Me
And then you’re reabsorbed back into darkness.
Start crying at the end of this meditation. Really powerful. Bless you all!
The strive to an ideal self we aim at, is the reason behind judgment.
Suppressing or acceptance are just emotional states.
Of course we all have shadows, but some act upon it, others don’t.
It is an emotional state of being,
the acceptance of the shadow.
Thanks
Thank you, Priyesh!
Awaereness, acceptance, forgiveness then gratitude... those help me integrate my shadow.
This video spurred me to research Carl Jung. Super interesting. Thanks!
Always something to learn
How about Freud? 😏
I LOVE EMERALD.....how nice when my favorite youtubers join forces *-* thank u both
This is exactly what i needed to hear according to my nearest development. There is indeed a Creator. What a Strange world we have within us which does not fit to the environment out of the human nature. Assalamualeikum.
"When you do not need philosophy in your life anymore to guide you have achieved your goal of becoming a better Human Being"
Eckhart Tolle talks alot about this in his work.
I agree meditation is the key to integration.
I've learned this in the last few years: The more you WANT the more you're far from what you actually NEED.
We observe in others what we repress ourselves. Very powerful 😮
Crystal’s clarity is so helpful. I recommend her channel.
"Our darkness exists to make light truly count."

Spot on!
That one dislike, its from Darth Vader.
Or Kylo Ren!

You just triggered my inner Vader! Stop judging!
Nah, these guys are light compared to Darth Sidious (emperor)
I love this channel, so the way you should analysis your crush is the same, but no the same, with the people what you averse. One is about your past and the other is about your inner personality.
Both of you have great channels on your own, but this collaboration was excellent. I hope you are able to work together again in the future.
James Campbell Thank you! 😊
I'm terrified that my "true self" is something sick and horrible...
The true self is absolutely fearless but at the same time highly compassionate.
it is but dont you worry, you will get over it...some day
I think the key is to realize that there Is no dark side, just a side of ourselves that we label as inappropriate. “Dark” is our judgement
Howw the fuck in the world or heaven and hell is your timing so impeccable?!

I am a shadow bender, thank you Carl Jung the father and first true shadow bender! Thank you for you guidance
Been watching a lot of your videos lately to help me out with some problems I've been having lately plus some stuff I've been aware of but couldn't quite label. Been doing my own shadow work trying to get over some emotional issues that I get with some people.
It's wonderful that you invited Emerald as a collaborator .
We look forward to more of such collaborations with various experts.
I am in my 1st year of Master's in psychology and your videos help me to get familiar with different concepts related to human behaviour and mind.
I would like to thank you on behalf of your subscribers.
Your videos always bring wisdom to my mind and a smile to my soul
So true ..They talk about doing shadow work also as part of being an empath.
Your content is very advanced spiritually. I am loving every video of yours I stumble upon.
Excellent collaboration. Thank you, both. Biggest take away for me is that our shadow is created to protect us at a time in our lives when we had no power.

Thank you both very much 🙏
Many thanks for this great, timely and lighting video. It gave some relief in my shadow time process.
it's true; we've all created a fake personality; one that we believe best helps us navigate our way through life.
Thank you
Your work is too helpful to atlest understand the realms of our being .. thankyou so much ..
You are doing such a huge work for humanity .Love .
Man your videos are always on point! Thanks for doing such a good job at explaining what is otherwise a recondite topic. I've tried to read yung before but couldn't make any sense of what he was saying. We are kindred spirits my friend take care

Jung fascinates me partly due to his influence.)
But as you say, a lot of it has no scientific backing and (unsurprisingly, since he was working from the early 20th century perspective) some of it has been found incomplete -- such as his focus on the role of dreams.
(A quick example I can think of where this might be taken wrong would be someone with anger issues deciding they should 'acknowledge and integrate their anger to become whole', rather than learning effective anger management skills that would teach them how to 'repress' it.)
Also, this was before the ideas of evidence-based CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), that chemical imbalances can affect moods and thoughts, and recent discoveries that the brain can be 're-wired' to some degree -- an idea that didn't exist in Jung's time.
(He just didn't have the knowledge and tools we have today when advising what to do about it.)
His other theories such as Synchronicity (he was a believer in the paranormal), have been relegated to pseudoscience, and the Ego concept may seem a little simplistic now and has been expanded on, but like you said -- we're far from knowing everything.
Just some food for thought!

wow! terrific! thank you both for your insight.
I started doing this a year ago after I started micro dosing with psilocybin mushrooms. I didn't even realise it had a name until recently.
This was incredibly useful and interesting. Thank you.
MANY thanks!
Beautiful video 😍
Ohhhh, this oughta be good💙😁

excellent collaboration!
Dude you are the best
