I just got the ATEM Mini and like the device but not really liking not having a Multicam preview. Also, really hate the Black Magic website and trying to find the software to download for it. I mean, I found it but it takes too much scrolling to find it. They really need to clean that up. I’m looking forward to getting used to this device and hoping it grows on me more.

Hi vMix team, thank you for this video. I have setup vMix with Atem mini and I am happy with input and switching cameras using Atem minin and also live stream via vMix has been spotless! My current question and challenge. I have been able to live stream Church service using vMix and Atem mini fine (Which was easy) but now I need to live stream and project to Church projector for people at the Church at the same. So an Example of order of Service is : Playing pre-recorded Video, Singing items , Power point file, Talk (Camera), I want to do the same for projector but obviously do not want to show cameras on the projector for people present at the Church during the service. Please advise, thank you :-)
Why does an uncompressed video signal cause less CPU usage than an MJPEG video signal? In both cases it'll have to be converted to h.264, no? And uncompressed video should deliver higher data rates, no?
Hello, I want to use the atem mini for live event where I get to switch between three cameras and edit live on the go. And thrn deliver to the client later. But the confusion is how do I record the video. From what you said in the video, the video coming out from the usb is compressed so I think this may not be good enough for recording. How do I record video coming from the atem mini
You gotta use external monitor with recording function like Atomos, external recorder or record straight in vMix. You won't get any noticeable difference.
I connected this device with VMix software but the video is not sync with audio, there's is some delay with video. Also it's not showing in Atem Software Control.

I haven't seen any mention of NDI support for it. You can always make camera inputs in vMix an NDI source, so once it was in vMix you could output it via NDI.
No multiview, right, but 4 HDMI inputs, 20 internal slots for lower thirds, 3,5 mm inputs, chroma keys... For $300?? It’s a bargain. Got mine in Argentina at the absurd price of $580 (fkin taxes) but hey, the next level option is the ATEM Television Studio that costs $999 in USA. I can live without multiview and save that ton of money
without monitor on ATEM mini, you couldn't control the video in put to vmix. I mean you don't know video (camera) look before you cut it. For example, camera 1 is not at good angle, but you couldn't know that, and you just cut .... :)
What kind of percentage CPU impact were you seeing using the atem mini to capture as opposed to other usb capture devices that use a uncompressed feed?
It's probably similar to adding an NDI source. You can see it jump up at 2:40 when it's added to the production. Added about 5-7% on this i7 7700k machine. USB 3 devices with uncompressed video won't have any additional CPU load.
Hello, when I connect Atem mini pro via usb to Vmix, video comming in with allmoust 2 sec delay. And it missing frames. With OSB works fine. What could be the reason for that?

Do they have a USB output that can be used for video output? If so, you should be able to see it on your computer like a normal webcam. If it doesn't then you'd need another capture device to get the video into your computer. Maybe email Roland and see if they can help.
I`m thinking about purchasing vMix because OBS drops sound from ATEM and it is frustrating if you are live. Anyone experienced audio drops and drifts from ATEM mini in vMix?
Don't have a great of experience with the ATEM Mini for super long periods of time. Haven't heard too many reports of audio drift though. You could try our 60-day Trial as a test to see if happens with vMix too.
Hi, the ATEM functions as a capture device where you are bringing in the output of the device via USB3. As mentioned in the video, you won't see all of the cameras in vMix, just the ONE output from the ATEM Mini.

so if i do want 2 cameras to show up as 2 separate inputs in vmix, and to do the switching in vmix, then what gear do i need? (coz as u explained, ATEM mini only outputs one camera at a time into vmix)
If you're using external capture like this with a laptop or something, then you would need a 2nd external USB device. You could use another ATEM Mini or something like an Elgato HD 60 S+, AJA U-Tap, Magewell etc. If you had a PC, then you could get a capture card that supported multiple inputs. www.vmix.com/software/supported-hardware.aspx#capturehardware
We usually recommend starting out with something like an Nvidia 1060/1660/2060. @@OsamaKamel-d1c Hi, unfortunately there aren't any devices that support multiple cameras of full HD over a single USB cable. You would need to look at Thunderbolt 3 options and have a computer that would be compatible with Thunderbolt 3. Alternatively using a PC with a PCIe card might be a better option if you're doing multi camera live production .
Hello, we have been using vMix for the last 6 years and are very happy with it. Recently, we wanted to add ATEM Mini and use it with vMix. Unfortunately, the video flickers when added to vMix. The same input when added to OBS works perfectly fine. Due to this, I can only get the video from the ATEM to vMIx using the HDMi. I would love to get it through the USB. Any ideas?

ATEM Mini also only cost $300 you should also use resolve for editing
Seems like a decent solution for smaller budget/productions to use with a laptop.

What presentation software are you using. Look a Propresenter it offers mulitple screen output options including output to NDI.

You can. The HDMI output can be configured in the ATEM software, but I believe that output via USB can only be the program output.

You can, but it's 1 input in vMix so all the switching needs to be done on the ATEM.

No. There is only 1 video output from the ATEM Mini via USB.

Hello, we have been using vMix for the last 6 years and are very happy with it. Recently, we wanted to add ATEM Mini and use it with vMix. Unfortunately, the video flickers when added to vMix.
