@@SimonFordman I agree - there are a ton of videos out there of old junkyards but your videos make us feel more like we're getting the excitement of the experience more. Seeing random details and whatnot. It's great.
Your vids do, indeed, tell the story with panache (at the expense of the occasional filter lol). Thinking outside the box is a gift with photography and vid work. Loved the napping junkyard pickup, for example. If ever I get my old Cabby out of its barn home back in Tennessee and drag it up here to North Dakota so I can drive it on our one day of summer, I'll be giving serious thought to documenting it all in similar fashion. Enjoyed this one from your archives!
These "no commentary" car repair videos are fantastic; this is a niche that is not currently available (at this quality) on YT. Looking forward to more!
I'm 65 now, but I remember going to the same boneyards to keep all my rigs in good working order way back when I was 16. It makes me feel good to know 49 years later that a young guy can still do that. All the old boneyards I went to are all gone now. Your Vlog brought back good memories. Thanks
One of my favorite channels for sure. I love the style of filming and the old Fords of course. And that LS Galaxie is killer . It seems like more content lately which is great
My favorite UA-cam channel. I’m 19 out of West Virginia and have a 1980 Ford F-100 300, so I can always find great entertainment in what you post! I love that no nonsense, quality air to your content. It has so much character. I don’t often comment at all, but I had to since discovering this channel has really made my week. I find myself relating to you quite a bit with your adventures haha. Keep up the great work! Was even junk yarding myself for window cranks and an old Ford AM radio just the other day
Winter sucks but going to the old scrap yard during this time of year is good in one way, NO DAMN DUMP BEES!! which I always seem to find in warm weather.
Кто читает коммент мой, доброго утра всем из Санкт Петербурга. Хозяину канала респект за позитивные видео. У нас RWR 1995 1,8 L 4G93 мотор. Тоже собираю детали по России, чтобы его восстановить.
I am really digging your style and the work you put into these old rigs. I own an older Mercedes diesel wagon, and the dash lights are notoriously dim, and the rheostat spring fails like yours did. I just jumped a wire on the rheostat for full brightness. I have also used Deoxit to revive electronics, especially volume knobs on older radios. Great stuff to have on the shelf.
I love it, Brings me back to the 70s. You can’t Beat old steel. My first car was a 1964 four-door Impala. The floor was so rotten the I could see the yellow line in the road when I looked down. Keep the videos coming Thank you
I'm getting such pleasure from your style starting with the GE Spacemaker coffee maker and lasting through problem solving, often through several iterations before finding the solution that worked. The lack of commentary and the attitude you project creates an ambience I find refreshing.... makes me feel good inside 😌 thank you for all the work creating these videos.
One thing I like about you, Simon, is that you are not afraid to exercise your "little grey cells." Good on you for using a master cylinder rebuild kit rather than buying a "remanufactured" one. I trust myself to make sure everything is done right. Someone else, not so much.
Forgot to turn on captions and still was great. Guess cause I been there and done that. Only been to one junkyard I could drive into. Sure as the devil wasn't lately. Did rent a golfcart at one. That was a hoot. Thank you Simon. You make great videos.
this is my preferite channel on youtube, love the 70's, old engines and mechanics in general, and like you I do a lot of the work in my garage. the video footage is amazing, love it, Greetings from Sicily (Italy)
I recently discovered your channel. I gotta say I love love love the no talking aspect of your videos! And your editing is on point. Good luck and keep up the good work!👍
Nice. So want to be there. Love this video. I loved to scour my local junkyards. Must have been around 1985-1990. Sadly all of them (in Germany) had to close due to groundwater regulations. Enjoy!
I know others have said this. But your production sense is highly evolved. Your editing skills are excellent. Not to mention your mechanical skills. I throughly enjoy your content.
Hey listen this guy is a worker! I just found this channel very entertaining and informative. …. But here’s the problem … One of you guys that watch this dude that’s got a lot of money get his address and send him a Milwaukee half-inch drive cordless impact gun with a couple of good batteries the big ones the five amp batteries… and this dude needs a set of blow torches !!!! help this guy out! If I had the money I’d do it myself ….. Kyle Mountain Grove, Missouri
Rohner's in Willmar. Long drive but always worth it. I found some great stuff for my 70' Duster. There's a 68' Road Runner buried in a ravine just to the left when you were on that first path. You missed the 71' F250 Super Duty a few years ago...put in a drive shaft and front glass, you could have driven it out of there. It was running...someone dumped it there. 🤟

Love that I6 F-250 ! I cannot wait to have my 86 super cab 6.9 back on the road. After almost 400k it finally died and it’s getting a much lower mileage 7.3 idi. Just stumbled across your channel and your content is really good.
Another great video. I'm sure if that old Ford could say thank you it would. That junkyard has some great stuff! A video of it in the nice weather would be cool.
Just came across your videos and now I'm hooked. Seen a ton of other related videos over the years and yours are some of the best in my book. Keep making them!
I like your style of videos, good job! I do recommend starting to use # in your description so you can show up in more searches and be easier to be seen! longer descriptions with as many key words as possible. Keep up the good work!
I didn't think junkyards like that still existed. The one I used to go to sold out over 20 years ago. It's an apartment complex now. I used to spend the whole day just wandering around having a blast. I wonder what happened to all the cars. All you see now are corporate yards that won't let you out back... not that you'd care to go anyway, it's all full of new cars lol. But then again, I still consider that truck you're driving to be a late model so I guess I'm out of touch.
I just found your channel. I don’t know how I didn’t find you sooner. Your videos are oddly calming. Good job on that leaf spring. I had to install 4 new leaf spring hangers and bushings in an ‘88 F-150 once. Anything to do with leaf springs is not an easy job, by any stretch of the immigration.
One of your vids popped up in my feed about a week ago. I really enjoy your thoughtful approach to your videography, steps you take to show your process, good skills...and of course, the silence. Just started to watch your videos (& subscribed) here in the UK 🇬🇧, enjoying them very much, especially the ford trucks. Just wish we could just drive to a local scrap yard & get spares like you chaps can over there.
Subbed after about 15 minutes on your last video of this truck! One thing I would recommend you save your joints by getting a cheap corded impact wrench from harbor freight (BAUER 8.5 Amp 1/2 in). I call mine, The Judge. I've used this thing many times to remove 35mm rusted nuts and they come off in a hurry, like they forgot they owed money and left the stove on. Great job man, keep doing what you're doing! :)
Near the beginning of the video, when you drove away from the curb, the snow was squeaky. Everyone from a northern place knows what that means. Cold! I'm new to your channel and I like your videos very much. Great photography.
How are you, recently your videos appeared to me and this one in particular seemed very interesting to me, and of everything you did I like that you do it in a very simple and dynamic way, good music and without so many explanations, it is expected as a good fan of the line vw have you ever handled a bug or transporter of that type,... aaahh and I happened to mention that you have not changed the oil in the rear and front differential of this magnificent truck, greetings from the Southeast of Mexico. The F250 deserves a rematch with that incline at the salvage yard with its locked Dana 60F and fresh 235 tires, now that winter's around the corner.
Too bad that was the only time they actually let me drive my truck through there.
