COLEMAN FLIP LID ICE TEST: How Long Will It Hold Ice?

The little Coleman Flip Lid 5-Quart Cooler surprised me with how long it could hold ice for.
I completely filled it up with ice and left it in the sun all day and left it outside overnight to see exactly how long it can hold ice in 80 degree heat.

The lid is hollow and has vent holes so you can remove the lid , fill with water and place in the freezer. The lid will be a solid block of ice.

I bought this for keeping my lunch cool in my SUV while I'm at work. I'll put freezer if bricks in it. I think it'll do fine. You're cute!!

I have a vintage Coleman little Oscar cooler that I got at a garage sale for 2$. The lid design is similar to the lid design on this cooler.

if you take the water out of the box, the ice will last longer. I always do this in my coleman 16QT.

The volume and higher thermal density of cold water being poured out will be replaced by warmer air .

Already have this cooler, totally useless will not hold small water bottles standing up. 4 small water bottles laying down. barely last a day trip n florida.

Has anyone tested with Igloo 5Qt? In my place the Igloo cost only 2/3 compared with this Coleman, but I'm not sure if the Coleman worth the extra cost.
