Fill the large cooler with a bit of ice, then fill the smaller cooler with alot of ice, and put the smaller cooler into the bigger one so the ice lasts even longer, this is a great trick I use when I go camping for like 4-5 days
I like Igloo. Made in USA, similar size to that coleman, cost me like $20, and keeps my stuff pretty cool throughout the day. I think Rotomold coolers are fine for long trips or emergencies, but for day trips they are kinda overrated.
thats what im saying. if you have your car access really closeby or you have a big family, i get it. bring the yeti. but for the most part i want the least tech around me as possible, which means im camping as lightest as possible
Nothing magical about a Yeti cooler, it's just basic science. The thicker the insulation, the better it insulates. The Yeti has twice the insulation as the Coleman so naturally it will do a better job. It doesn't have $180 of extra insulation though. Coleman should double their insulation and sell it for ~$40. Take that, Yeti.
If you put some ice in both for a bit before replacing it and starting the test you'll have better results , putting ice into a warm cooler will always affect the time the ice lasts
Plus there are Coleman with with water release and still cheaper . If you where to get a large Coleman cooler and added 2 bags of ice it’ll hold the ice for a longer time and also still be cheaper .
Have to point out, that this test is without opening the lid, in a real situation, if you are on vacation..everyone's going to pop up that fu'ker like 20 times a day so the times Taras is saying is with the lid closed (If you need to take cold medicine somewhere far for example..) but Big difference.
Stefan Unson , i camp for a week and only use a 40$ coleman. On day three i buy a 2$ bag of ice to top it off. Or if i am backwoods camping i buy block ice. Block ice lasts twice as long. 2 blocks lasts all week in the summer in a coleman cooler.
Same i love camping as well. A good trick is to buy 2 cheap coolers of different size and put a bit of ice in the bigger one then put the smaller cooler in it. makes a big difference!
I am a charter Captian in Florida. A good reliable cooler is definitely a necessity for being on the water all day. I personally have 2 yeti 65 coolers and have never had a problem with them. This test isn’t really that believable because if we have clients out they’re gonna be reaching into the cooler grabbin drinks and your gonna be puttin fish into it.
I got the RTIC brand before they changed their lineup. They were identical to YETI in every way, except price. They were half the price. Many reviews have been done on them, and RTIC always matches YETI.
it dosent matter if u want to take 20$ for 3 to 4 days you can take two of them fill both of them with ice and 24 hours both cooler become half of ice then transfer ice of first cooler into second cooler then again second cooler will became full of ice and it will my 260$ .
You can get a 55qt Lifetime cooler from Walmart for under 100 bucks. They have a supposed 7 day ice retention rating. Plus it’s blow molded with a drain.
You should've shown us how long the ice in the yeti cooler actually lasted up till... if it lasted for 4-5 days, then its probably the best thing for campers.
We take long car rifes. The Yeti is indispensable for keeping milk, cheese and ice cream. The ice lasts and I have cool packs in the Yeti for 6-7 days of cold.
Yeti's are top of the range, you're paying for the construction and materials, they'll outlast a Coleman but it is a hefty price for what is a passive cooler.
I love my coleman excursion cooler. When im working 14 hours in 106° weather keeps all my drinks cold and even when the ice melts the icey water stays cold for 2 days
It would have made more sense to pit the Yeti against a 4-6 day Coleman cooler rather than one the cheapest coolers Coleman sells. I have a smaller Coleman 4 day and a larger Coleman Xtreme 6 day and they are both far cheaper than a Yeti and provide a comparable amount of insulation.
The best way to help preventing the ice from melting especially if you are camping 8nvest 8n a few blocks of dry ice.. put the dry ice in a few different Ziploc freezer bags and distrubute the bags of ice in different spots throughout the ice chest.... your ice will last for days
You could also just bring some dry ice and that with keep your ice from melting too quickly. Put it on the bottom of the cooler to keep things cold or put it on top of everything to keep things frozen and even freeze some items. We froze otter pops in a cooler with dry ice on top of them in 90° weather no problem.
Still doesn't make yeti's worth it really though. You save what? 2 dollars every 2 days. Average American gets 16-20 days off. Assuming you use this cooler maybe twice that for other weekend getaways at maybe 40 days a year you would use this, then it may be worth it after 2 years. But thats only if you buy your own ice. Use your own ice from home? No cost there :) But my other main concern are that Yeti's weigh a lot.
yeah i gotta agree long camp trips the yeti seems to be the better choice but if your out at the beach or just having a BBQ for the day a coleman is better
i have that yeti cooler. it really doesn't work as well as it cost during our hot 90+ degree summers. you open and close it all day the ice doesn't make it.
I haven’t watched the entire video. But in the yetis whenever you want to go for the long time with ice you need to open up the water tap just a thread or two.
Fill the large cooler with a bit of ice, then fill the smaller cooler with alot of ice, and put the smaller cooler into the bigger one so the ice lasts even longer, this is a great trick I use when I go camping for like 4-5 days
Dragon Slayer awesome idea🤔🤔👍👍👍👍👍👍 gonna try that, thank for the great tip👍
Coolerception 🤠🤠
You are genius
then put the whole thing in a refrigerator
Dragon Slayer Genuis
Screw yeti...I'll buy 2 American made igloo and put the smaller one in the bigger one...boom
Jonesy 22. I would love to see that test.
My dad did that growing up a small Coleman in one of those big red plastic igloo ones
Heck yeah
You just broke the internet
This guy is living in 2099, that's genius.
I think that the Coleman that STILL HAS ICE after 24 hours for 20.00 is a winner. I never knew that Colemans were that good.
Ozark Trail makes the equivalent of the Yeti coolers for under $100. Should put those to the test against each other.
MrSpart55 It was at my local Walmart
Nope 👎
They are identical-Ozark Trail & Yeti
Agreed
I got the White OT 26qt for $21. Check your Wally worlds people.
I like Igloo. Made in USA, similar size to that coleman, cost me like $20, and keeps my stuff pretty cool throughout the day. I think Rotomold coolers are fine for long trips or emergencies, but for day trips they are kinda overrated.
Richard Powell fill your budget cooler lid with spray foam and a seal on the lid and it will be much more effective...
I bought two colemans this summer and they were made in the USA. FYI
@@WezleyB Add in Yeti or Arctic Ice and that will add hours to the ice retention.
i guess you can say whatever is inside, is KUL!
Both good Kulers
XD
Nice.
Maybe you should've compared the weight, because weight is a pretty important factor for coolers. Though the big cooler looks heavier offcourse.
thats what im saying. if you have your car access really closeby or you have a big family, i get it. bring the yeti. but for the most part i want the least tech around me as possible, which means im camping as lightest as possible
Jeffrey Koelewijn they actually aren't any heavier, it's just foam in the walls, meaning it hardly weighs at all
Or buy the bag cooler that’s the one I have use it for everything
Draining the water actually decreases the thermal capacity which in turn makes the ice melt faster.
Yep. It stays colder longer if you leave the water in.
coleman lids are usually hollow. drill a couple 1/4" holes in the lid and fill with non expanding spray foam.
Dumping off the water doesn't save the ice it actually would make the ice melt faster.
keriezy put salt on the ice
And render all of them unsuitable for drinking
I wouldn't drink commercially manufactured ice. I've heard stories.
Exactly. My girlfriend always drains the water. The water would melt the ice if it was room temperature. But, the water is already cold lol.
CoolySchooley as long as there is ice the water and the ice would be 32°F. The moment all the ice melts the temperature will increase.
If you put some ice in both for a bit before replacing it and starting the test you'll have better results , putting ice into a warm cooler will always affect the time the ice lasts
Try PELICAN brand cooler versus Yeti. Yeti is overrated.
Josh Hibbs Pelican is the OG daddy
their both overrated
they're
Igloo
Josh Hibbs ya but yeti is so much better
A Yeti is nothing more than a cooler inside another cooler with insulation between the two layers, and they charge 10 times more.
Buy a $60 to put the $20 cooler inside it, and line it with foam insulation, and you have a similar cooler for a fraction of the price.
Keith Hatlak that’s a mess
But who wants to actually do that? Lol
Anyone else noticed that he left the tack on the $200 cooler my thought is he going to return it
Tim Daymude I would...
Me too...
They probably sent it to him free
me too
He's a millionaire!
The yeti is made for longer excursions, if youre just going out for a day or 2 the coleman is just fine.
Plus there are Coleman with with water release and still cheaper . If you where to get a large Coleman cooler and added 2 bags of ice it’ll hold the ice for a longer time and also still be cheaper .
Coleman 5 day cooler...holds ice just like Yeti...$60
Exactly. The Coleman marine cooler is the way to go. Only get one of the hard coolers if you're trying to keep bears out of your food
And Coleman isn’t anti-gun.
I have a Yeti Roadie I got for free, that thing absolutely shits on the coolers my friends have. Wouldn’t say it’s worth $199, but it’s awesome.
The difference is just the black sealing rubber in the yeti .. You can put a sealing rubber on the coleman and the results will be almost identical
well it last better if you leave the water in but still more insulation the longer it will stay
Have to point out, that this test is without opening the lid, in a real situation, if you are on vacation..everyone's going to pop up that fu'ker like 20 times a day so the times Taras is saying is with the lid closed (If you need to take cold medicine somewhere far for example..) but Big difference.
Put expanding foam inside $20 ice cooler. Drill a hole and spray in and do the same experiment again.
I have the blue Coleman small cooler it hold a lot of refreshments I use it for my bicycle trips I enjoy bringing it with me
What sane person would drop $200 on a cooler
Those who camp for at least three days.
a KUL person
Stefan Unson , i camp for a week and only use a 40$ coleman. On day three i buy a 2$ bag of ice to top it off. Or if i am backwoods camping i buy block ice. Block ice lasts twice as long. 2 blocks lasts all week in the summer in a coleman cooler.
KFC Gravy FACTS
Same i love camping as well. A good trick is to buy 2 cheap coolers of different size and put a bit of ice in the bigger one then put the smaller cooler in it. makes a big difference!
After watching a bit of the video why wouldnt you collect the water drained to compare the loss?
With yetis or coolers that are similar youre supposed to put ice in before then add to it the next day to get the ice to last the longest
Perfect for hot weather review! Boom! For a days fishing on my kayak I take the cheaper one BOOM!
I have a 65qt rtic, working on oil rig you need food and drinks to stay cold. I tried a 20 dollar cooler ice lasted 8 hours. Rtic last 6 days
what i like the most about CRAZY RUSSIAN ,is that he is always honest on is test ..
I have a yeti but it's heavy and ice is cheap so the much cheaper and way lighter ice chest are much better. Imho
Coleman 62 qt Extreme 5 day heavy duty cooler with WHEELS! Love the wheels and big long handle. $44.95 Walmart YAY!!
I have the same one but they cost $150 in Australia
Tara's leave the water in the cooler....it keeps beverages cold longer.....try it you will see....
I've found a towel inside the top greatly increases the insulation of the cheap coolers. Think maybe most of the heat exchange is around the lids.
Nice. I was wondering about the difference in brands.
This is a lot more interesting then I thought it would be
I feel u haha
I have the same excursion cooler. I love mine. It's kept ice inside for days even under direct sun.
Yeti is just a status symbol.
it dosent matter if u want to take 20$ for 3 to 4 days you can take two of them fill both of them with ice and 24 hours both cooler become half of ice then transfer ice of first cooler into second cooler then again second cooler will became full of ice and it will my 260$ .
Do they work well with the new Mac book pro?!
KHALID Al muzini lol
Honest Russian Hacker xd
You can get a 55qt Lifetime cooler from Walmart for under 100 bucks. They have a supposed 7 day ice retention rating. Plus it’s blow molded with a drain.
there are 35-50$ alternatives that are 95-100% as good as the yeti XD
bs
Can you mention them? Boom
I actually bought stuff that this Crazy hacker tested, and they work as he advertises. Spasibo!
You should try the Arctic it's $100 and it'll keep ice way longer than a Yeti
Tom Reed it's Rtic. I have several of their cups. Good stuff.
also, can extend that time significantly with further insulation, such as Reflectix ®
Very Kul
Jari?
what 😂 ??
Buy the $20 cooler and keep it wrapped in a blanket.
Buy two, wrap one in a blanket and only take it out to replace the ice in the first one as it melts.
(for long camping trips, that is)
That is the best way to do it.
You should've shown us how long the ice in the yeti cooler actually lasted up till... if it lasted for 4-5 days, then its probably the best thing for campers.
You must secure that yeti when out and about , it is a prime theft item. There is a metal bar with lock that will bolt to truck bed or trailer.
So can I have the Yeti cooler since you use the Coleman one?
Do a comparison of the Yeti with the Ozark Trail cooler.
O T 😍😍😍😍😘😎
What about the foldable foam cooler you have? How long would that last
Will Taras ever go on a survival camp and use all his survival gadgets?
Bushcraft Baxter probably never
What about a cooler in a cooler in a cooler (thrice)... I think that it will beat the yeti
If you wasn’t similar performance for $100 (as stated) pick up an RTIC
The only way I would use a Yeti is if it was given to me for free and it was just for popping in
The $20 cooler is supposed to have an ice pack that screws onto the underside of the lid. That would make it much more effective.
You should also compare the Yeti to the Osark Trail ,(also available at Walmart). I have found the tumblers to be comparable.
When you drain the cold water, it accelerates the melting. You could just get the cheap one and put dry ice.
We take long car rifes. The Yeti is indispensable for keeping milk, cheese and ice cream. The ice lasts and I have cool packs in the Yeti for 6-7 days of cold.
The drain from the Yeti is pretty neat. Could drink the Water that drains from there aswell
you should see how durable that yeti cooler is
GAproductions i heard they can withstand slug hammers he should try
Jk would be a good video
I throw my cooler off my roof all the time.
No he gotta return them after the video 😂
the $200 was leaking
I wish I could see this tried with the $20 coolers hollow lid filled with expanding foam and adding a gasket.
I love how you are so fair! Great job, sir!
Yeti cooler-$200. Bag of ice-$2.00. Those things are ridiculously priced.
These coolers are super Kul!
these kulers are super cool!

We froze otter pops in a cooler with dry ice on top of them in 90° weather no problem.
how long would dry ice last?
Look at Pelican. Made in USA, about 1/2 the price of the Yeti, and holds ice just as long.
Can you do another one of these but with the more expensive Coleman coolers?
Dry ice is the best ice, just ask Taras!
If I melt dry ice, can I swim without getting wet?
Drill few holes...add great stuff expanding foam....boom...much more insulated
You say you have to buy new $20 coolers a lot, maybe the $200 one doesn't break as easy either.
I really like the measuring technic of the free space height.
Which cooler will actually going to hold up the ice
Longer?
isn't the yeti touted as bear proof?
Still doesn't make yeti's worth it really though. You save what? 2 dollars every 2 days. Average American gets 16-20 days off. Assuming you use this cooler maybe twice that for other weekend getaways at maybe 40 days a year you would use this, then it may be worth it after 2 years. But thats only if you buy your own ice. yeah i gotta agree long camp trips the yeti seems to be the better choice but if your out at the beach or just having a BBQ for the day a coleman is better
Leave the water in, especially with cans or bottles. Surface area thing. The cold water is wasted cold of you spill it out.
Where is that water coming from after 34 hours? Is the Yeti leaking water?
did he just said Badiya🤔 at 3:37, hindi?
I prefer my Ozark trails "Yeti" knockoff. It's twice as big as the Yeti and It's $137 at Walmart.
The Coleman Xtreme 5 is still cheaper and is incredible! Can hold ice in crazy hot weather for 5 days!
Do a durability test with these coolers
Could you do a comparison with a $200 coleman too?
The work you put in your videos is amazing. Thumbs up for you !
How much time do u say boom
I love my Yeti's. Great for camping and fishing for a couple days!
if you want it colder spread salt on the ice.. you should try it.
i have that yeti cooler. it really doesn't work as well as it cost during our hot 90+ degree summers. you open and close it all day the ice doesn't make it.
Could you send me the yeti stickers that are with the instructions??
Please and thankyou
Why?
I haven’t watched the entire video. But in the yetis whenever you want to go for the long time with ice you need to open up the water tap just a thread or two.
