Too much work for a water bottle. I kinda regret buying mine, took the mouth piece off to clean it and now I cant fix the airflow without taking it apart. Useless

I managed to dissemble everything less than a min, skip the knife part, skip the pliers for pulling things out except for resembling around minute 4:00 that you can use a rubberband pull it out, but I use secure hold hairclips metal bendable ones for haircuts, instead of the knife for dowel, others comments are right, push forward the cap and focus on the right side lift it up high and hard, it will make the dowel pop up very little (return the right side and slide up (as it was) (no need to get the dowel from the inside it will just fall out once right side is back in place) then just flip the cap and dowel falls right out because all it needs is to be removed a little bit, for assembling the inner piece, push it into the cap and just like video showed before you clip the piece then pull, wrap a rubberband and feed it through the hole then shimmy it through, my rubberband broke after many 5-6 times of reassembling, so I just use hairclips and I twist the silicone and pushed it higher and then I pull it out and then I just finish assembly. Hope this helps😊 edit, I hardly remove the silicone from cap, using method above you can remove dowel without even needing to remove the silicone, then you can just get drop soap and water in the silicone hole and rinse it off and to dry just get a napkin and bend a small paperclip and wrap the napkin to dry it, honestly, this makes cleaning much quicker and less hassle for daily cleaning. I leave cap, silicone bite valve, straw, and bottle separate when drying

Game changer! But what about the older Podium caps?? I have a Podium Chill Insulated bottle that I'd guess is 5 or 6 yrs old (though I got it on sale a couple yrs ago)

I've had my fake Hydro Flask for 7 years. Dropped it multiple times, no dents. Keeps my drinks cold, ice melts fairly slow. Why spend $50 on one when you can get a perfectly working fake one for a quarter of the price? I don't see myself replacing mine anytime soon.

Now CAMELBAK spent ALOT of time engineering that entire spout having to design it in order to take it all apart in order to clean out the Bacteria and assemble it back together. EXCELLENT JOB CAMELBAK !

Great video, it helped me allot. I have an Ashland Chill Contigo. My cap is different and has a slotted hole instead of cutout like yours. For reassembly, I had to install everything but the auto spout button, because the lid wouldn't fit over the button. Once the lid was snapped on I could install the auto spout button through the slotted hole. Thanks again.

I just followed the guide and it marred up the whole side of it and then the inside broke when taking it apart. Asinine design for cleaning, especially since this was my toddlers cup. Will not be buying another one of these contigo lids for sure

Thank you for the walk-through! For that dowel I used a hook/pick set. Made extracting the dowel easier with the finer slightly bent hook.

Contigos are essentially useless if it requires the user to reverse engineer the assembly process just to give it a proper cleaning.

Just did it with a spoon on accident for several minutes, and didn't even notice until I saw the nuclear hot spoon when I took it out. Hence why I'm here. Making sure I didn't break anything. And I have seen sparks from forks before. It's nothing too crazy though.

I found my aluminum Contigo water bottle was harder to separate the two halves. Also the plastic has major battle damage from the flat head screwdriver. I found using a que-tip cleans the inner rubber very well and for other areas too. Also soaking in hot dish water. There is no need to do all this work unless the rubber fails and needs to be replaced. I also figure you should replace these bottles after a few years anyways.

Actually, I bought the blue one With green like about 2016, 2017 something like this it is an old model I have it. I ordered it from Hydro flask website and I choose the customized color.

Thanks for the video. I took apart the jet valves and they had lots of mold in/on them, so then I soaked in straight vinegar and Dawn Powerwash. I use my fingernail to try and scratch off the mold. But it is very stubborn. The parts have been soaking about 4 hours. All of the other parts are cleaned using brush.
