Huge earthworks to transform Deighton Station for TRU

They are working on the old line track bed that closed about 50 years ago or more. Seems stupid now to look back and see how many miles of track were destroyed, when there’s such a push for people to use trains. In the past you could get from almost anywhere to anywhere by train.

Thanks. This is a route that hasn't had much investment for soooo many years, so we're all a bit amazed to see this kind of money being poured into the North of England. Historically, London has three times the spend on transport per capita than Yorkshire, so we're just glad to see some improvements.

I ran by the Heaton Lodge works and past Mamas and Papas around lunchtime. I didn't realise they were putting another curve in there, makes sense why they've built a crossing over the Greenway by Bog Green Lane now.

I think they've had to create a whole new access road to get to the spot where they're installing the new curve
