Used this to edit a photo for some art based on the Fracture: Entrenched from Halo Infinite. Hopefully it gets in the next Halo Spotlight. Very helpful. Have a great day, mate!
Hello Johnson. No, trees inside the POW camp was probably not realistic - and that's why I wanted the smokescreen to hide both the trees and the fact that I was alone (artistic and moody photo). I used the camera angles to try and cheat this fact instead. I did not have permission to take down any of these trees, unfortunately... SO had to make the best out of the situation ;) How long did it take to make the video or the photos? Best regards from Norway! :) :)
@@ww2historyandreenacting I meant how long did it take to set the scene up, take photos and then edit them, in total. It looks like quite a lot of work, but the results are very good from all that effort! Thanks for the response.
I really liked this artistic-styled video alot for a change. The music was nice too! Also, that kopfschutzer doesn't look like the typical repro, much more stretchy and rough knit
Do you have any more footage of the Luftwaffe reenactment at 7:28 that you could share here on UA-cam? That impression is absolutely stunning! Great job!
Thank you so much Andi! :) This footage was just something I quickly put together in the backyard for a video showing off some newly acquired original furniture. There is some more footage in this video. Best regards from Norway :) ua-cam.com/video/tAF2q_PCQl8/v-deo.html
One tip I would give; wide angle lenses back then where virtually non-existent. You already get way better pictures by picking a lens of between 40 and 60 mm. Or to zoom in, just a bit. Great video!
Great photography there! You look very authentic.👍 An 8 day reenactment, whoa! Now that's hardcore! Have you and your group considered doing some photo ops on actual WW2 German vehicles? Perhaps huddled on the back of a Panther or Sturm Geshutz, or going into action in a halftrack, that's loaded down with gear. That is if they are available to you. Your one picture reminds me of some photos of German troops in the Battle of the Bulge. Well done sir!👍👍👍
Double thank you, really appreciate that! Yes, this was part of a 10 day immersion event with a two day tactical/battle event at the end. It was an awesome experience! Taking photos like this would be beyond awesome, unfortunately we have not had the opportunity yet - hopefully in the future! Again, thank you so much! Best regards from Norway! :)
Lol@11:27 Any tips for finding old cameras that work? There aren't that many good antique shops in my area. As always, great video thanks for sharing your knowledge. Definitely an asset to the hobby 😁
I don't make photos at the events I go to nor do I edit photos. Still this video is pretty satisfying and entertaining to watch. I saw online that you guys did an event last weekend or am I wrong about that? If it were you guys can we expect a full video on it, it looked pretty dope.
Thank you Hugo, I really appreciate the positive feedback! That is correct, unfortunately, we did not do any filming - maybe next time! ;) Best regards from Norway! :)
@@ww2historyandreenacting would love to see more of you guys on actual events! All the members of your group just seem so nice. Also most people here kinda see you as the pope of ww2 german reenactment.
Great video! My great grandfather had a camera during war, it's a good opportunity to see what kind of photos he took, and to be honest: he mostly made tourist-like pictures, also a few war related, but mostly pictures of his friends, buildings, and other every-day-situations. Some off-topic question: could you make a video of leather-care of items like belt, ammo pouches and boots please? It's always easy too get things dirty, but cleaning is something else...
There were a lot of different types, quite a few with compact designs. All sorts of prewar cameras were used - My favorite is the Kodak Retina. Its small, compact, uses 35 mm film, and is very user friendly :)

Both of my grandfathers served in the german army during ww2 and were stationed in norway. I still have tons of pictures of them.
Thanks for sharing, I think it turned out well. The effects were very realistic in my opinion 👍👏

Depends on the camera you have I guess :) You can ask at a local camera store or even look at ebay :)

Intro song?
Would a Kodak 35 work for a US impression?
Intro music?
So, what type of camera did the German soldier use in this time? I’d prefer something that can be carried in a pocket.

Where do you dig in with your comrades?
What are some good cheap period cameras to use?
That intro....
Mögen unsere Soldaten in Frieden ruhen.
It should be possible to insert digital camera electronics into a period correct camera... even without destroying the camera...
