This song still slaps just as hard now as it did then, and the message is just as brutally true.

I've performed this live a few times and I'm telling you it's the most fun you will ever have on stage. The amount of pent up aggression you can let out is amazing and that only makes the performance better haha. It's win win

Right around the time this song was released I was traveling from indiana to tennessee to visit my grandparents and was driving through Louisville Kentucky about 2am channel surfing the radio and heard the dj announce this song so I cranked it up and to my surprise the ending of the song was played right on the radio and I remember thinking wow Louisville is hardcore but then the dj came back on and said it had been nice playing music for everyone but that was probably the last song he would ever play over the air. Then went on to say he picked the wrong track to take bathroom break while it was playing and by the time he got back to stop it was too late so he said I thought fuck it I'm letting it play.
I don't know if he got fired or what ever happened to him for that but here it is like 30 years later and every time I hear this song which is pretty often I remember that late night jam session

This song is lyrically simple but so potent!!!! The message is so brutally truthful and in your face I feel the simplicity makes it more impactful. The way Zack will repeat the same line 5-6 times really gives it punch. Zack can spit bars with the best of them but with song the simplicity works.

Third comment.... might make more haha. Part of why Rage is so powerful is that, much like a chanting during a civil rights march, they repeat their message. They keep it in your head. These thoughts, this reaction, this frustration at the bigotry and death, unfair arrests and racist crap doesn't need to be any deeper than talking your shit. Straight to power. I respect lyrics that don't fuck around sometimes.

You gotta say it over and over again because some people won't get "some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses" on the first listen. It's the epitome of "say it louder for those in the back"

@@stanbolkowy166 As long as corruption in politics remain... Politicians and government aren't the actual problems, it's the corrupt, greedy, "not for the people" assholes that are the problem.
The 2 party system is ancient and should be absolved. Get rid of the ancient electoral college. Get rid of Gerrymandering. ETC ETC ETC ETC. It's all bullshit to allow themselves to do as they please.
I could go on, but most people don't care, and the ones that do are already trying their best (hopefully) to get these things changed.

@@DWish808if you abolished the presidential system and left all the power to the supreme court(four judges) it'd make way more sense, that way the people get a 50/50 when it comes to laws, a middle ground that'd stop dividing people, two (progressive)republicans and two democrats, absolute power should never be in the hands of one person, but if you left power in the hands of the supreme court you couldn't stop there as far as reuniting people, you'd also have to get rid of sensationalist media(and most social media platforms like twitter, tik tok and facebook, destroy them) media like fox and cnn that act as mouthpieces for corrupt, backward, religious, racially motivated, politically biased(cnn) and radicalized, out of touch news anchors(fox) who get all weepy whenever they see an american flag and want american society to go back 50 years(also fox)

Ffs it’s not that complicated, Rage hate the democrats but the U.S. had literal fascists in office, at that time it was a choice of Fascists or purveyors of the status quo democrats, them say yeah actually this time around it’s probably better to vote for the dems right now is not raging with the machine it’s protecting the country from fascists, they’re right back to raging against the dems again now.

Man, this song is the worst most popular song of all time, all their other songs do not just repeat 3 different phrases, I hate that it has so many views, it's only popular cause in the early 90's that 8 fuck you's at the end was considered very edgy....if you want the best ones, here's some in order, Wake Up!(lyrics) , Know Your Enemy(lyrics), Take The Power Back(lyrics), Bulls on Parade(music video) , Bullet in the Head(🔥live at pink pop🔥), Bombtrack(lyrics) , Fistful of Steel(live at pink pop), Down Rodéo(lyrics), Darkness of Greed(lyrics), Freedom(music video), Sleep now in the Fire(lyrics), Testify(music video), you will be a totally different person after you exhaust this list. It's lifechanging perspectively.
