I've performed this live a few times and I'm telling you it's the most fun you will ever have on stage. The amount of pent up aggression you can let out is amazing and that only makes the performance better haha. It's win win
Right around the time this song was released I was traveling from indiana to tennessee to visit my grandparents and was driving through Louisville Kentucky about 2am channel surfing the radio and heard the dj announce this song so I cranked it up and to my surprise the ending of the song was played right on the radio and I remember thinking wow Louisville is hardcore but then the dj came back on and said it had been nice playing music for everyone but that was probably the last song he would ever play over the air. Then went on to say he picked the wrong track to take bathroom break while it was playing and by the time he got back to stop it was too late so he said I thought fuck it I'm letting it play. I don't know if he got fired or what ever happened to him for that but here it is like 30 years later and every time I hear this song which is pretty often I remember that late night jam session
This song is lyrically simple but so potent!!!! The message is so brutally truthful and in your face I feel the simplicity makes it more impactful. The way Zack will repeat the same line 5-6 times really gives it punch. Zack can spit bars with the best of them but with song the simplicity works.
Watch their live 1993 performance of this song. They go mfing crazy in that 1993 live performance and mfing KILL it! Most epic performance of all time!!!
Third comment.... might make more haha. Part of why Rage is so powerful is that, much like a chanting during a civil rights march, they repeat their message. They keep it in your head. These thoughts, this reaction, this frustration at the bigotry and death, unfair arrests and racist crap doesn't need to be any deeper than talking your shit. Straight to power. I respect lyrics that don't fuck around sometimes.
Hey sweetie, thank you for sharing your reacton. I thank each person who gives time to do these videos. Times are still crazy out here and im a hermet to my home. I live alone with no company so, I rely on my internet. ❤️✌️
You gotta say it over and over again because some people won't get "some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses" on the first listen. It's the epitome of "say it louder for those in the back"
I grew up on Rage in the 90s and they shaped my politics. Now I'm old and Rage has become my yardwork soundtrack. I can whack the shit out of some weeds with this on the headphones, just letting all that aggression out. LOL

Woo so relevant, lets listen to the anarchists who sued kids who said "fuck the system" like good little fans and downloaded Rage's music offa Napster back in the day. They're a fuckin act, and idiots to boot.
Rage Against The Machine and System Of A Down (and Marilyn Manson to a slightly lesser extent) have incredible messages in their songs. Very political and I am all here for it!
I love this song, its still on my playlist today. But found it crazy that back in the day ppl that were the most racist would listen to it not realising its meaning.
Ffs it’s not that complicated, Rage hate the democrats but the U.S. had literal fascists in office, at that time it was a choice of Fascists or purveyors of the status quo democrats, them say yeah actually this time around it’s probably better to vote for the dems right now is not raging with the machine it’s protecting the country from fascists, they’re right back to raging against the dems again now.
Man, this song is the worst most popular song of all time, all their other songs do not just repeat 3 different phrases, I hate that it has so many views, it's only popular cause in the early 90's that 8 fuck you's at the end was considered very edgy....if you want the best ones, here's some in order, Wake Up!(lyrics) , Know Your Enemy(lyrics), Take The Power Back(lyrics), Bulls on Parade(music video) , Bullet in the Head(🔥live at pink pop🔥), Bombtrack(lyrics) , Fistful of Steel(live at pink pop), Down Rodéo(lyrics), Darkness of Greed(lyrics), Freedom(music video), Sleep now in the Fire(lyrics), Testify(music video), you will be a totally different person after you exhaust this list. It's lifechanging perspectively.
This song still slaps just as hard now as it did then, and the message is just as brutally true.

Especially if you're the drummer!
Literally bruh and wow you performed this live! If I find the footage of that hmmm 🤔😂
@@ThatSingerReactions Haha I actually think I might be able to find some footage. Leave it with me
Hey, I air guitar this better than Hendrix and the Sex Pistols combined. It's my release. I... won't do what you tell me.
I love RATM and their still relevant message. Very political and focused in activism, and I’m here for all of it!

Ok, I have watched all your Rage reactions. I will subscribe.
I normally hate a random pause but I had a punch a cop thought in my head when you did. Thank you lol
Hahah I laughed way too hard at this lol

YES exactly they speak truth to power at racism, policing, corruption/capitalism, etc.
Yeah that’s why I love them they have a lot of truth

As old as this song is, it's a shame that it's still so relevant. It shouldn't be, corruption's never going anywhere. Great classic song!
as long as politician's remain, wars and social/racial strife aren't going anywhere either

90’s
Great reaction. Lyrically, this is most simplest & straightforward song. Over the years, Zack de la Rocha has gotten more complex w/his writing.
It wasn’t RATM that did the DX song but it was a band that emulated their style that they got
I highly recommend RATM's song Wake Up. You will recognize he opening if you have ever watched The Matrix.
This is the perfect intro to RATM---> "Rage Against The Machine - PinkPop 93"
❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
I saw them I LA in the democratic convention, you should look at that video
The music is super quiet on our end.
If you've seen the matrix it's at the end
If I'm not mistaken, the group that did the DX theme was actually a Rage cover band
Rage Against The Machine and System Of A Down (and Marilyn Manson to a slightly lesser extent) have incredible messages in their songs. Very political and I am all here for it!
I would LOVE to see you do Freedom or The Ghost of Tom Joad
Was at the end of the first Matrix movie
Ayyy
proud to be like #300

The music is not very loud - especially for Rage.

The Matrix and GTA San Andreas radio.
What about Dirty Loops - Rock you ? Your reaction would be 🔥
Great song. as relevant today as ever.
the levels were really low. song was too quiet for my liking.
Ur talking about the degeneration x song...no, rage did not make that song...
You HAVE to watch Machine Gun Kelly an Travis Barker covering this song in 2020!
