Yeah 53:19 hits the nail on the head. It seems just recently self awareness, mindfulness, childhood trauma, being present were none existent to me. I'm 60 years old. Have been a baptised Catholic and been a devout Catholic since 1988. Never have I been aware of these terms. And terms like Spiritual bypass seems so me. My marriage was in shambles even if I heard daily mass, monthly confessions, participated as a Eucharistic Lay Minister, it all came to naught. Until mindfulness came in. Now when arguments happen. I feel, I recognize I investigate and I nurture. No blaming, no overthinking just love. Now, I try to integrate spirituality with psychology but I feel more weight in healing my psyche rather than improving my relationship with God. I need more of Catholic Psychologists like Dr. B and programs like this to keep me grounded and balanced.
I am not. I can ask Dr. Breuninger if he has any connection. It looks like a good book, a classic! Thanks for sharing! I'm going to get a copy. What were some of the key take aways you got from the book, and how did they connect to our conversation?
It can be a challenge! My kids are still little, but I can imagine how hard criticism could be to receive from them. It will be an opportunity to grow in humility :)
I just discovered Dr matthew a few days ago and I find myself healing after struggling for years . What a beautiful man.
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
Same for me!

Agreed! Matthew is a true blessing. If you haven't caught his talk at FOCUS's SEEK Conference this year, I highly recommend it.

Compare Aquinas with Bonaventure. Self-knowledge avails us nothing. But it’s a good start.
Say more about this! Do you have a good source to recommend on this point? Thanks for watching and for a thoughtful comment!
Some parents can’t even take their child calling them by their first name! Much less any criticism.
