I tried and it works. I had issue with the wooden mold and took me forever to make the shape. Everything else was super easy to do. I found it a bit hard on the wrist because the hand does not sit in a naturel position. Would see if I can had and angle to it.
@@jakesvrfightclubnetwork3718this is what I plan to do, maybe with a layer of fabric or thin leather to help protect from the heat. If I can get it to cool fast enough then it shouldn’t damage the controller. Side note, is there a how-to for the throttle slide build?
@@jakesvrfightclubnetwork3718 thanks. Made my base and control stick yesterday into today. Was able to use just the controller to mold the PVC into shape, just need to acquire a proper seat now. May forego the throttle slide for now, the stick alone is game changing enough.
@@jakesvrfightclubnetwork3718 i will respond to you sure! One question, i cant use my quest 3 controllers to point on anything, there is no cursor on my finger tip. also i cant reach the throttle or anything else with the grip button. Is it the same probleme since juli 2024 where DCS just broke patched it? I would like to know how you roll at the moment with your setup?
@@jakesvrfightclubnetwork3718 thanks for your answer! I just had it 2h before. I only installed the open xr toolkit app. After that it worked well. The first compnents arrived today, i cant wait to build my own one
I think these come in a standard length. The one I use is 1 1/4" to 1 1/4" rubber coupler www.homedepot.com/p/Fernco-1-1-4-in-x-1-1-4-in-Flexible-PVC-Coupling-P1056-125/100055392
I took 1 1/4" PVC pipe, heated the tip up with a heat gun then slide my controller mold template in it to form the handle. You could slide the controller directly into the mold but I did not want to ruin my controller with the heat so I made a mold out of wood using my Dremel tool. I have a video on here that shows how I did it ua-cam.com/video/SF4fGr2ecAk/v-deo.htmlsi=xlvUMhz3tzHZIlGz
I spent about $7 on a cheap toilet plunger and duct tape. Not near as cool as his. But if you don’t have tools money and know how, try it! I don’t think I need to make a tutorial for this one lol. And I stuck it to a cardboard box for height and stability
GENIUS!
Thanks
You should give vtol vr a go! the entire game is build on controlling a plane with only the vr controllers (and rudder pedals if you have them).

It took me a bit to find the right height and angle but once you find it, it’s awesome
You can use your controller to make the mold but I was afraid the heat would damage it

Very cool but I don’t have any tools or materials. I actually plan to buy a plunger and electric/duct tape to make basically the same thing lol
That may work too, I’ve seen some creative stuff.
@@jakesvrfightclubnetwork3718 dude it actually works very well lol it’s not perfect I guess but I spent like $7 lol

How do you make the throttle controller?
This particular throttle controller works great with DCS and Warplanes in VR. It’s really simple but will require the rails. I’ll do a video soon
