How can it be easier to maintain when it's just exactly the same but on the other side. I'm not being an ass here but just curious. I have 2 dirt bikes that has the chain on the left and a Beta trials bike with the chain on the right (with the exhaust and kick start on the left).
We still riding a Germany machine, amazing ,beautiful engine and agressive respond at any gear shift ,it is the most comfortable of the GS650 series .We notice the taller bike to the ground with none plastic staff in Sertao like the japanese bikes full plastic in front the bike ,on the other hand Sertao is clear ground notice it is at the end of the video . Beautiful riding bike.
Sadly not, i own a sertao and thanks to the right side drive its a pain to keep the tire out of the dangerzone of solvant and lube, while doing maintainance on the chain...
So this bike is a big disoppointing... Uncomfortable for long riding (more then 5miles) And You can not use for knee for driveing this is not too safety. I was falling love to Sertao for 4 months but that was just picture and video after I collected a lot of money and went to dealer.. for me this is ugly on live. old stupid bubble designe with some new cover. For short people is too high the seat but for tall people.. if I sit on it my leg is hurt after few miles and the seat is not help. What is good in this bike that is the amazing performance on low rmp that is prefect. and the brand. I think there is no mechanical problem with this bike just some people was forgetful and did not turn off the immobliser before start the bike and after the battery low for starting. If you are Sertao owener be happy but who want new motorbike: If you are not little cat Buy a F800 GS or If you woud like feel the simple adventure moto riding freedom choose the TE650 Terra.

what's the advantage of having a right side drive system? (chain being on the right side)

Dual exhaust..? You mean dual mufflers for added mufflerness?
Try a catylitic convertor and a muffler, with a crossover under the fender.

Because the bike is tilted up toward you. Not down and away.
Dual exhaust? Uh, no it doesn't have dual exhaust.
Only thing I can think of is: easier to maintain.

It's actually a single exhaust that goes through the left side, then under the seat to the right side which is the muffler.
