My bike is the dealers ex demonstrator ,decompression lever, main computer and now speedo all replaced under warrenty. Excellent dealer service,no problems at all really. Fantastic milage mpg,
Speedo replaced, bike running fine now, after2500 miles the gear shift is getting much easier. I really like this bike.Full 2 year warrenty and breakdown assist (uk).
Last weekend i did sat on it in the show room in Calgary and it feel way lighter than my f650 gs, i look on the spec. sheet and only 2 kg lighter but the center of gravity is lower on the sertao , good looking bike, still waiting for the demo day to try out.
Beautiful new lines. Wish BMW had stopped with the confusing naming convention as well as offered a standard GS Adventure package for all its GS+ bikes to include: -Upgraded Wilbers/Olins/WP fully tunable rear suspension -Upgraded KYB/WP USD tunable forks -Current technology tubular light weight frame -Upgraded / adjustable riding position (foot pegs/bars/risers) -Superlaced Excel Wheels These standard additions on all "Adventure" models of the GS bikes would create the perfect Adventure GS.
@dbauernf oh really? sweet didnt know that good to know now like I said just use to the 450's which have 53hp stock so i thought a 650 would have a bit more behind it but ya thanks for the info!
@jesusisfast The most powerful single cyl is the ktm 690cc with 70hp, but most are under 60hp, and that's the norm for 1 cyl. 70hp is about average for 2 cylinder 650cc bikes.
It relieves exhaust pressure on the engine to improve performance like a cat back on a car. I doubt you'd be able to find a second exhaust manifold on it.

BMW: Unsung heroes of the motorcycle world (First bike was an R80)

I have 3 main options: Honda NC700X, BMW G650GS or Kawasaki KLR 650. I am open to alternatives though..
Bring back the 650gs
Looks like the KLR is the only choice for thumpers these days.
I am considering this Sertao or the KLR as my first bike.DID you buy the Sertao what do you like not like compared to the kawasaki?
@NEMOSUFU Since it's almost double the price of the KLR, I sure hope that it's at least a little better...

And put the price with KTM or more.

I guess this is the competition for the klr 650
Apparently only aesthetics...the left side tho, could be used for adding a tube container, which could keep other items on it.

dbauernf 70hp is good for a 650 twin verseys was only 63hp. Xt660 is well below the ktm 690 at only 47hp. Think the klr650 is about 42hp
já tem no Brasil.
I see, thanks for correcting me...
How much is it?
Unfortunately, until now, this bike wasn't imported by the agent company of BMW in Taiwan.
Auto or manual

In Brazil about $19000!!!!!
really?
its just a split single exhaust.
"The Power band is linear, with no real peak or surge, so it's ideal for new riders and works very well off-road..." - A.K.A IT'S LIKE RIDING A DOG
Still take a KLR650 when it comes down to my money.
About $8650
it's pronounced SERTÃO... SER+TOWN... It's a Bazilian (Portuguese) word...
55hp?? That seems rather low for a 650 I thought it would be around 70:s oh well guess I'll just have to stick to high performance 450's
Clocks just failed at 2000 miles, gearshift is terrible
it is sertauunnn,heavy/bass sound , and not sertAAALLLL
sertão=backcountry,backwoods,backlands....
I think they should have just kept using the name Dakar.
engine made in china
