XC Ford Falcon 351 Crusty wagon project: $100 to build a custom X pipe 2.5 inch twin system? Almost!

Hello and welcome to episode 29 of Missle industries ongoing exhaust system saga. Last week we left off having the extractors mocked in and panel beaten to clearance all the things. In this episode I take the left over VY SS commodore cat back exhaust system I have had lying around since I removed the LS1 and T56 for my e30 way back at the start of 2023 and chop it up to repurpose for this project.
My logic was that the commodore and the ford have comparable engine capacities so the 2.5 inch twin system and Redback mufflers should be adequate enough for this projects needs. I have a MIG welder, 7 inch grinder, a drop saw and some tacking bands to test out so it was time to get stuck in and chopping and tacking stuff up until I get something that works!
This felt like a pretty ambitious project from the outset but as I carefully worked my way through every step it all came together. My main concern was getting the mating flanges of the extractors and the twin system to line up square so the mating surfaces would accept a gasket and bolt together without leaks. Secondary to that was getting the mufflers to hang just where the hangers could attach to them. I will confess i jagged that part but I'm still claiming the victory.
Sure the welds are splooged somewhat but I am working with scrap steel here so it doesn't have to be weld pron.

Been following you for a while, enjoy your content, except for the CRAP music. Just about blew my speakers up when it came on when you used the drop saw (1.50 mark) to cut up the exhaust. Because you talk softly I have the volume up, then on comes the head banging noise. Otherwise, keep up the good work.
