- Extended footage from the Tanfield Railway's Legends of Industry gala on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June 2019.
Featuring GWR No.813 (GWR 813 Preservation Fund). For the weekend No. 813 regained her appearance it had when it first arrived at Backworth Collieries, complete with No. 12 on the cab sides.
Seaham Harbour Dock Company No.18 "Lewin" visited as Marley Hill station pilot from down the road at Beamish.
Home fleet locomotives in operation:

- Joicey Collieries, No.3 Twizell
- Keighley Corporation Gas Dept No.2
- Sir Cecil A Cochrane
An intensive timetable was run with three passenger sets alongside a demonstration coal train running between Marley Hill and Sunniside throughout the day, along with a full line run at the beginning and end of each day.

I was born in 1935. Those locomotives were old even then. Thanks for preseving them.
Living in Northamptonshire it took me until last month to visit this fantastic railway for the first time - and then it was discovered almost by accident! Your beautifully-shot video certainly brings back memories of a day well spent (and shows me what it looks like in summer). Thank you for uploading this. This is half-an-hour of captivating viewing as you have taken so much thought, care and skill. Every frame is well composed. Let's face it, heritage railway videos are not normally of the quality of your work here!
I used to go here with my dad when I was a kid. He was a volunteer back then. Got to drive the black diesel (I think it is named The Armstrong) shown at 0:35 to Sunniside many times when going to the shops for lunch. The locos all look exactly as I remember except i'm sure No.49 was painted black back then. I remember it being out of action at the back of the engine shed for a very long time back then.
The main work horses for the passenger trains back then were Sir Cecil Cochrane and Irwell.
I can still remember them putting the new roof on the main engine shed and building the footbridge at Andrews House station.
49 was always green it worked out of Backworth colliery
I visited this lovely railway just before lockdown whilst on holiday in the North East. Really enjoyed the experience, well worth another visit one day.
There are some little gems in this film. Well done !
