Great to see this loco at work. It is many years since its classmate at KWVR ran. I quite miss it! Interesting that 3 locos found their way in NCB work.
great video amazing shots of the yankie tank powering up the line. never quite understood how these charters work if you go do you get access to lineside etc while they do a couple of passes with the loco and train
Indeed the N.C.B. trio including Hartley Main No 35, were decidedly none standard design by UK standards and didn't survive long into the fifties. Not surprising really what with many "Army Surplus" Austerity [LNER J94 as a batch became] and new build direct from the makers 0-6-0 tanks available.
2:45 this engine has a whistle that fits this engine perfectly!
I find it quite unfiting, as this locomotive was built in America.
Thier whistles tend be loud and low-toned
@@danielcreed2328 You're talking about a three-chimed steam whistle, which I'm pretty sure none of these USA class tank engines had.
Rosie!
That exhaust beat though... beautiful
Love this little engine. Sounds really powerful although the occasional wheels slip. Great video.
Nice to see people driving the USA properly!!!
This is the engine where Rosie from Thomas & Friends was based

well done, some great perspectives. thanks for sharing.
Not many of this class is left. This year USA 5002 is under restoration in its home state of Pennsylvania to run short tourist train runs.
Very nice video of a working loco. Doing what it did day by day. A lovely recreation and great video work. Amacf
fantastic steam engine.
1:44 Was it supposed to be making that screeching noise?
Super little tank engine.

Thanks. Yep they work by transporting you in locations in the train and then performing a number of run pasts at each location.
Thanks for explaining it for me i may have to get myself booked on one

Just by listening to it you can tell it's American!
