I bought a Domane+ AL5 a month ago and already ridden a few hundred miles. I agree with Bart. This bike smoothes out the hills and softens headwinds. A nice safety side-effect is that it helps me keep up with traffic on busy roads (cars aren't as affected by hills/winds). It also helps start on a hill, giving a boost while I click into my pedals. So far, it works great as I often shift power levels and gears as needed. Trek hit a nice price point on this one. About half the price of the Carbon Domane. I'm happy.
