It's all in the details bro. I just spent $200 to get some gloss black stem valve stems (and sensors too...) for my new wheels that i've got coming in today. hardly anyone will notice. i will. and i like it.
It really is! See I think that's the key to building a car right there, do what you like because you like it or will notice it. Did I order a second carpet because people were going to notice a few small details in my carpet? No, I knew I was going to notice them and that was all that mattered.
Thank you! That's essentially my inspiration, I just film what I would want to watch and take inspiration from the creators I enjoy watching personally.
Minor set-back, the learning experience will show on the replacement. I agree with a previous comment in regards to not using heat to score your cut outs. It would be difficult to control the heat distribution.
I didn’t know that was a thing! I already picked up a second carpet from stockinteriors.com and I have to say, it looks phenomenal in the car. Especially when it’s cut correctly haha
Super frustrating! And agree with you there, not sure what they're molded to but it's definitely a lose interpretation of the chassis. Haha I got somewhat lucky and mine fits pretty well but the corners are quite as tight as OEM, but I've see others that are far worse
I did the plush cut pile and added the mass backing! I believe that's exactly what this one was and I thought it was perfect and super easy to work with. The mass backing seemed to help my cutting easier.
I told one person I'd hold it for them until tomorrow, but if that falls through it's available. Can you DM me on IG? That's the easiest way to communicate and keep track.
While it sucks having issues like this... especially ones that end up costing you more money... it's still good content IMHO and I'm glad you still put it up. You learned something from the mistakes you made, and hopefully others will also learn from the mistakes and maybe avoid them so look on these kind of videos as a PSA! On the heated socket trick... I've haven't heard of anyone using a socket, but I heard of the same trick on Vice Grip Garage but he uses an old punch of some sort ua-cam.com/video/KuE2SNnTlD0/v-deo.html
That's how I feel! And I think it's important to not only show that I make mistakes too but that lessons can be learned from from them like you said. Ill check out the vice grip garage technique!
as i was watching you do this i cringed. always do the bare minimum center cut out and get it in the car before making holes for belts/seats. ...lesson learned.
Haha I bet… tough lesson to learn but fortunately it wasn’t more expensive to fix and hopefully I can prevent someone else from making the same mistake! Just fit the new carpet in the car in my latest video and it went much better this time around.
Love the attention to detail, as someone who has an enormous love for these vehicles, I'm glad to see someone else who appreciates them like i do.
Thanks man, it's a labor of love for sure but I love process! Can't wait to enjoy the car one day

@@avengednick yea bro, i think people like us also don't want to skimp on quality. i guess it goes hand-in-hand. lol. cheers brother, happy holidays!
These are the kind of builds I love watching!

@@avengednick in the middle of building my s14 so taking a lot of inspiration from this channel as this is my style forsure

Exactly! Just another learning lesson along the way. And agreed, I'm going to try to find a hole punch to use based on another technique I found.
Enjoy your break man! Car is coming along nicely.
Thank you man! It's definitely much needed and the first time I actually have no work to think about. It's going to be great!
What spec carpet did you get from stock interiors? Is it just a basic one or did you get the mass backing and the extra stuff like that
I did the black plush cut pile with mass backing added
Should try and find a mint condition oem 89-90 black carpet. Those are literally the best Schassis carpet! Most durable and looks the best.
I didn’t know that was a thing! I already picked up a second carpet from stockinteriors.com and I have to say, it looks phenomenal in the car. Especially when it’s cut correctly haha
YIPPEEEEE I just subbed and you posted another s13 video!!! I love it!!
Thanks for subbing!
Keep up the great content 👍🏻
Thank you, I'm just getting started!
I had a failure installing a carpet for a 300z. Ordered another one, frustrating. These new "molded" carpets aren't the best fitting IMO.

did you ever u 2nd skin on the door and quarter panels? how did you like the result once everything was done?
I haven't done the doors yet, but I may in the future. I'm still working on building the car so I haven't had a chance to experience the final result.
@@avengednick okay cool. Yeah just seem kind of weird. You did the whole car but left out the doors. That's usually the first part people do
pro tip s14 seatbelts are so awesome in the s13
I have some manual JDM S13 ones otherwise I'd check that out!
@@avengednick oh perfect, the auto ones get sticky after a while the manual belts are so much better IMO
Do you know if they make a right hand drive carpet
I don’t off the top of my head, you’d have to check the site
Which type of carpet did you order? Plush or Ultra-plush?

what are you going to do with the carpet? I am actually in need in carpet for my s13 hatch 😃🤞🏽
I’ll sell it for cheap just to put towards my replacement and so it doesn’t go to waste! Are you in Seattle?
@@avengednick Nope, I am located in Tennessee. :/
@@manuelgomez3575 if you’re down to pay for shipping, hit me up on IG!
@@avengednick Did you end up selling the carpet?
Can you share a link to the carpet?
Yup! They have a couple different options: www.stockinteriors.com/items.asp?ModelId=312&MainCatId=1
did you have mass backing on your carpet?
Get a hole punch kit from ebay for the holes my dude don't heat up a socket
I'll look into that now, thanks!

maybe practice the whole burning on that messed up carpet first bro.
nvm saw you were gonna sell it to homie lol
But I do think I'm going to get a punch instead or try the burn technique on a scrap if needed
