this was the only book where i think the movie did better. Jon Krakauer wandered off into to many side stories. of course the stories where somewhat comparable to the story of chris mccandless, but in my opinion he somewhat lost the essence of the story. the book gave insight to mccandles, of course, but it was simply not entertaining. the movie on the other hand was so strong in imagery and it did very well to portarait the essence of the story.

You should try reading the book with out all the Hollywood crap.
