That crude blowback and shotgun looked like they were actually made by human beings, rather than the Ork guns we got in the base game
Did you see the size of those shotgun shells? It's like a 2 gauge shotgun. Only an ork could handle the recoil
@@rileyhaynes2515 or the undertaker
@@rileyhaynes2515 you know there’s power armour that lets you literally survive a fall from a 80 story building right?
@@buttered__toast_2899 you misunderstand, I mean the shotgun couldn't possibly be made for humans because they couldn't handle the recoil of a fuckoff massive shotgun
Mutants are basically orks
These aren't cut from the in game files, these are cut concepts. The mods are recreations of those concepts.
okay?
@@icypastasauce7240 Context matters.
I appreciate the context.
okay?
Okay?
This just proves that they needed to add more variety to the pipe weapons
By giving you a 10mm pistol at the start they also eliminated any need to use the pipe guns at all.
@@Nick-hm9rhrong 10mm ain’t that easy to find early on enemies don’t use it and and it’s about 3 caps per bullet forcing you to use the pipe guns
@Nick Blixky
10mm is *l i t e r a l l y* the most common ammo type in the game besides .38 round. Its everywhere and gunners, raiders, & triggermen hoard it to no end.
10mm is in every ammo box in the game, it feels like, and I've played since release.
Take Scrounger. Not only does it increase ammo found in containers, a hidden feature is that it increases ammo *everywhere* it can be found in the game. You will literally be swimming in ammo.
There's a revolver literally straight out the gate in the woods behind the MM statue outside of sanctuary.
Caps are not an issue at all once you get a couple purifiers, sell all purified water, repeat, and boom, Monopoly Man.
Cryolator + Dogmeat = Beginning of the game fun.
Ammo is very easy to conserve if you really want to.
@@Nick-hm9rh
I don't think that would really be an issue if the pipe weapons weren't such total shit. it's imaginable there'd be situations where you'd want e.g. a low tier sniper over a "better" pistol, in a world where the pistol wasn't better than the rifle in every respect
@Graknorke yea i feel like a rebalance would be neccesary. Im of the opinion that making guns especially good ones way rarer would be cool. Also make ammo more scares. Encourage melee builds. Kind of last of us or mad max type balancing
I would have preferred the Crude Blowback as the common two-handed instead of the bland Combat Rifle
Same, and maybe add in magazines that could've unlocked wepon designs, or different looking scopes or sights, but I agree. Same with the Cranky Shotgun. The weapons look ramshackle and slapped together, which for right after the bombs dropping is very thematically appropriate
Nah, the crude blowback or something similar should have been the pipe gun, and have it more like an smg.
Then have the Fallout 3 assault rifle (r91 in lore or hk33 in real life) as the combat rifle.
it would have been the low level rifle, and got replaced by the pipe gun which filled in every low level gun
@@Graknorke i actually kind of like the combat rifle. i think the dislike it gets has more to do with people wanting it to be an assault rifle rather than what it's meant to be which is a battle rifle. The devs for fallout 4 simply dropped the ball when it came to small rifles. They really should have understood that assault rifle are popular and tried to work more in.
@@gpheonix1I like it too, but I dont think it fits in with the lore of the game at all. Its been 200 years since the bombs fell and theres still a shit ton of military rifles just lying around?
I feel like the crude blowback should have been what the actual handmade was supposed to be
@@OhLordyG are you kidding?
@@OhLordyG
Elaborate
@@OhLordyG this comment is the antithesis of truth
I prefer the handmade how it is, I really like aks and the ak concept was created with ease of construction in mind in order for resistance groups to arm themselves, so it makes sense they'd be quickly mass produced in a post-apocalyptic scenario
@@jonathanpilcher337 AKs were made with unlimited resources and zero cost factor by the soviets, on gigantic press and milling machines, lots of care and quality was put into the real combloc rifles and they are not crude at all, nor easy to manufacture without these factors. They were wholly meant to be made simple, high quality, easy to mass-produce for arming regular armies and sympathizing militants. The one in the game just looks like an AK with weird stock options. This Crude Blowback and some more sheet metal guns would have been way better than the dumb pipe guns, which is realistic. The Luty SMG is a good example of a "home made" battle gun.
"Hey you know that cool AK-47 look-alike gun we had in Fallout 3?"
"The Chinese Assault Rifle? What about it?"
"Remove it."
The Handmade Rifle then enters the chat.

@@ObsidianQuasar they didn’t change the look they just added a new gun the assault rifle in fallout four isn’t the same gun as fallout three in both of those are different from the original assault rifle in fallout one they all have different lore And are not the same weapon

The Cranky shotgun is DEFINITLY a riff on Metro 2033's shambler
i also think of the abzats, the chain-loaded shotgun in Metro. i always use it when capturing D6
The hammer behavior on it was making my brain hurt though. Cocked when empty, fires closed? What?
@Bob DeSlob the sound of the "crank" is also god awful.
@@bobdeslob8768 its not a striking hammer, my guess is that its a piece that locks the four barrel in place so that a shell can be fired, and then reciprocates back to allow the chamber to cycle to the next one
@@quinnmarchese6313 far more likely bethsoft doesn’t have any idea what they are doing. Remember the cocking action on the hunting rifles?
That Courser gun actually fits in the Lore. Harkness used a Plasma Rifle when he was the Courser A3-21.
Courser crusher and the biogun are great, always run that mod since coursers should be insanely dangerous
what’s a courser, again?
@@toaster9922 Those matrixy lookin synth dudes with the black suits, basically the Institute's top agents n stuff
@@starzykillstar7652 The way everyone hyped up coursers, you'd think that we were gong up against something suitably difficult and different, the best and deadliest the Institute had to offer. Something like a T-800 or T-1000 or something. Instead, we get a bullet sponge with a stealthboy, with no real weapons, gear or gimmicks to make it stand out from all of the raiders and gunners and gen 1 synths that we've been fighting.
He was a courser?
the hammer on the cranky works exactly the opposite of how it should as a real gun
Yeah I see that now
It doesent work how it would in real life but all the pipe guns wouldent work also and those are 10 times worse
Pretty sure that's not a hammer, but the levet mechanism to rotate the cylinder.
@@mechapope9168 it's spelled "Doesn't" and "Wouldn't" btw, no need to add those extra E's
well I mean the striker could be designed so the hammer strikes backwards.
These weapons look way better than the actual weapons we get in the game
I just don't get, all the guns in fallout 3 where good, same in nv, how did they fuck it up so badly?
@@neohyberboreantechnosteppe3185 they standardized all the weapons so you can customize them.
@@cheesegaming1699 I've heard that before, and it doesn't make any sense. The fallout 3 assault rifle is based on an HK33, and by looking at the .308 version you can see the massive variety available with the platform, so if anything it would make a better choice than the assault rifle or combat rifle designs they chose.
Similarly, they could have used a sten gun or Luty smg as the basis for the pipe gun, and both would have provided equal customisation while actually making mechanical sense.
The fundamental weapon designs are just worse, there's no two ways about it.
@@neohyberboreantechnosteppe3185 the hk33 was probably not used to save recourses/time if you look at the model in game it looks really uninspired same with the makeshift ones. I would have preferred a Luty that would have been awesome.
@@cheesegaming1699 Yeah, but that's kind of the problem, isn't it? They were lazy, and putting in details and basing the designs on actual guns or weapons from previous games, they just invented some ugly bullshit
0:40 Holy crap, an institute weapon that doesn't take up most of your screen!
Yeah that's probably why it was cut

Only thing about the Cranky Shotgun that I'd change (if this is a mod that's still being worked on) is the hammer at the back. When being cocked, the hammer should go back, not forward.
Also the shells are huge, look like something you'd fire in Warhammer.
The noise it makes when you crank it needs changed
@@ye11owman29 could be 10 or 8 gauge
The primers look like they've already been fired.
Bro it’s the shotgun from bo2
Man these guns suits so much the game unlike most weapon mods they are so clean that felt out of game atmosphere
I wish there's alot of mods with these designs and sounds
No, i want shoot my M16, AK74, G11, G3. I don’t want to play fallout 4 as vanilla
@@arewe9647 U can play with these guns in any game but not in any game u will find futuristic world war weapons they are so rare so u play apocalyptic game all guns are 200 y old but mods show them like new which is bad mods could atleast be dusty to show how old they are
Me too wouldn't mind ur guns but they don't feel the same I prefer vannila in all. Weapon except assault rifle
@@yuiyui9575 I'm sorry, but only after re-reading this about four times was I able to understand due to how it was written. That said, the H&K G3 is a canon weapon in fallout, it's called the R91 Assault Rifle. The M16 and AK platform also exist in fallout, the M16 as the Assault Carbine in Fallout: New Vegas and the AK as the Chinese Assault Rifle, most prominently featured in Fallout 3. The H&K G11 is, surprise surprise, ALSO a canon weapon in the fallout universe, specifically in Fallout 2. So yes, they DO feel like Fallout, because the majority of these weapons mentioned were in the original 2 games.
@@arbitratorkit3626 I get where you're coming from, but the thing with weapon mods its that they look all glossy and new, as if straight out of factory. They're old weapons, they should look somewhat weathered or rusty since they're 200yo.
@@Bothrops_Asper_89 Thing is, in Fallout 2, the G11 looked totally brand new. In New Vegas, a lot of them did too.
Those mortars and grenades feel like testing tools.
the mortar, nuke and paintball guns are all just the methods through which the mortar workshop building, the nuke from the homing grenade or the stationary paintball turret work
The cranky shotgun and crude blowback feel so authentically makeshift yet sensible. It feels like something that was cobbled together in the apocalypse but still by someone who could plausibly explain how firearms work.
How TF did the combat rifle make it into the game…
The blowback looks way more realistic as a homemade gun than the various pipe guns with exception to the pipe revolver.
The cranky shotgun reminds me of the metro shotgun for some reason.
probably because they look alike. it's not a very complicated reason.

All these guns make so much more sense, especially the pipe shotgun
fallout 4 probably would've been a whole new game if it had these weapons
@Grinch I think what they botched was not going far enough with that concept.
I mean, people play Uncharted, Bioshock Infinity and God of War and don't complain about their protag having an established name, voice, backstory and plot.
I say they should've invested more into making him an actual character more.
Replace the "Pipe Rifle" with the Blowback and keep the Bolt-Action pipe gun.
Replace the "Combat Rifle" with the Chinese Assault Rifle and make sure to chamber it in 7.62 like any self-respecting Kalshnikov would be. You could even have the protag get a quick comment from the sub captain that he thought one of their supply subs washed up on shore somewhere nearby but couldn't remember exactly where.
Replace the Assault Rifle with the one from 3 and chamber it in 5.56 so that's *actually* an Assault Rifle.
@TheGrinchScroogebruh
No it’s like 5 weapons
Man, I like how versatile the pipe weapons were, and I always wondered why there's no pipe shogun cause I need it for my collection
Pipe shotgun is in the Creation Club sadly.
The6thMessenger's Weapons Overhaul Redux may have options to load shotgun shells (with lots of variations and patches) as well
Especially since shotguns are by far the easiest pipe weapons to make irl

the crude blowback was my favorite mod back when i played this game a lot. didn't even realize it was a cut weapon
I love the tumbling sound effect for the automatic Crude Blowback. Like it's rate of fire is forced out of a rusty receiver
I don't think the mortar and nuke were cut, they're just test weapons to test the nuke and mortar projectiles
Most of these ended up in fo76. It would be a trip to see the saw blades as a thrown or shot weapon
I think only the throwing Knife and Axe were added to fallout 76, to my knowledge they never added the Cranky, Blowback. Courser, or Chinese to fallout 76 (Granted there is a Atomic shop skin for the Handmade Rifle that makes it kinda look like a Chinese Assault Rifle but that doesn't really count)

the Nuka cherry grenade still sort of exists in the game as a robot mod that you can get with the automatron dlc.
Amazing video I love when people bring fallout Cut content to life
the blowback has such a nice vanilla sound
But they kept the pipe guns...
Times like this really make me wonder if Bethesda lacks common sense or brain cells
Both
@@Rhino-Prime Yeah. Bot only that. But their also assholes. Look how they traded Mick Gorden
The game was still fun though with what we got
More like their fans (or rather haters) lack them
Nuka Cherry grenade was added in the Nuka World DLC.
I'm surprised how many of these ideas actually made thier way into fo76, pretty neat.
I love the look and feel of the Blowback, its so boxy!
These look better than the three weapons the game has
So they dropped all the cool weapons and gave us the trash ones
All of these could have been amazing. Each could have had a whole side quest to get them especially the weather changer.
The Nuka Cherry grenade would have made a ton of sense for the Nuka World DLC.
I always loved the concept of the hyper customizable pipe weapons, but only if they'd kept weapon skills as a thing and added proficiency with Pipe weapons specifically. Placing points into that skill would increase damage from pipe weapons and give access to greater modifications. That would actually give people a reason to make pipe weapon builds.
what's interesting is that a couple of these made it into 76. Notable to me is the fireworks cannon, which is called The Grand Finale in 76.
The cranky shotgun reminds me of the shambler
Loving the fired primers on all the shells before the gun has been fired
I love that you here the sound reverb yet there is literally nothing for the sound to bounce off of XD ah movies and video games haha
These weapons could have been added as DLC weapons, or certain gangs could be outfitted with them. That courser gun looks interesting. Any reason why these weapons were cut?
Laziness
@@generic_tough_guy.4830 Logical answer . The underwater vault shouldn't have been cut and all of the weapons except for the Nuke, fit better than the hideous assault rifle.
@@smooth37 eh, even the assault rifle got shafted. its files call it a machine gun, and it was a power armour only gun.
@@TheSimmr001 Really? That makes sense due to the size.
@@smooth37 yep, its why it has a water jacket. It probably was seen as too restrictive and made a default gun.
It's similarity to the rifle and shotgun is probably why the Chinese assault rifle was dropped. It lets them make an ak style weapon family.
Love the cranky shotgun. The crank sound doesn’t fit though
Yeah that sound is awful
I think its the raider overhaul mod, has a crude blowback port. As well as a singleshot pipe shotgun that looks similar to the cranky shotgun. I also found a never ending pipe shotgun while using the mod and it was awesome.
gotta love how the paintball gun has brass casings
What did you expect? It's cut content.
I wish they had included the Chinese assault rifle. I’m glad we got the wasteland melody mod and animations from a separate modder. Can’t recall who it is
I feel like that most of those gun should have been added since they look like something someone would make in a nuclear wasteland that’s been around for 200 years and would use it without hesitation
Time and time again, i keep getting shown that Fallout 4 had so many great ideas that just got cut
It's incredible to see these old concepts flushed out in more detail in actual gameplay, and an absolute travesty we only really got like 3 different weapons per type in the final game
Those guns look a lot better than tube guns :v
The weird thing about the Chinese AR is that the sight protectors around the front sight are a not fully closed ring, although the Chinese Kalashnikovs in our world have a closed ring sight protector
I’ve never heard of an AK having a hooded front sight. Most protected front sights are either winged, or they’re a ring that’s open at the top like in the video. Fully hooded sights are normally reserved for traditional rifles such as lever actions and some bolt actions. EDIT: I just looked it up and you’re right. Chinese AK’s have a fully hooded front sight. I never realized that. Huh.
Just downloaded some mods that readded the Cranky Shotgun and Crude Blowback on Xbox 1. Thank you!
The cranked shotgun was all I had to hear to make me feel like I was going down a train tunnel
The crude blow mod needs to be fleshed out a little more, as it becomes irrelevant quickly game. Added attachments from the pipe pistol is needed, and pipe pistol replacer would be cool...
You can tell that cranky shotgun was done lazily because it has texture of pierced primers even when freshly loaded.
I love the throwing weapons so much.
Wow they cut guns that actually looked good and normal
Todd said "I won't allow fun"
Love how every single reload animation is some guy in MOCAP just taking the mag out then putting it right back in
The animations weren't mocaped
Yeah vanilla fallout reload animations in pretty much any of their games are pretty bad. Very janky robotic movements
Thanks bro i needed this 👌
Imagine using the cranky shotgun and it blowsh your hand off by chainfiring
Fun Fact: The Chinese Assault Rifle is based off of the Type 93, the Chinese officer pistol is based off the Mauser Broomhandle
The IRL Chinese assault rifle was a fake build used in an April fool's video
They should have included those weapons in the new gen update
But Bethesda decided to add more bugs lmao
That cranky shotgun is straight up metro
One thing they should of done was add extra upgrades for the double barrel shotgun where you could give it 3 to 4 barrels per upgrade, maybe even 5
Bien video saludos desde México la verdad me acabo de enterar que tienes haters no les hagas casos sigue adelante
It’s cool that in Fallout 4 crude post war weapons are more common unlike the stuff made in Vegas but there’s enough equipment around to make better crude firearms than the ones in game.
None of these were in the in game files except the paintball gun being left over, the rest are mods based on concepts.
the files for the chinese assault rifle mesh are there, but not as a functioning gun though.
Aren't these all just mods? 😅 I know the first few leading up to the paintball gun definitely are because I have them in my lo
They are all mods. They're not the usual cut content that were found in the game files, but are concepts that were never used. Except for the Chinese automatic rifle. I think that was in the game files but didn't have any textures.

The Chinese Assault Rifle was my favorite weapon in Fallout 3. I'm so mad that it could've been in Fallout 4 but got cut lol
Why is it always the coolest stuff thats cut from games?
I wouldn’t mind the pipe rifles as long as it had tons of more variety like we could potentially have a crazy auto grenade launchers and choose which ammo type we can use.
If you like the Cranky Shotgun check out the Select Shotgun and other weapons in the Select series, truly special guns.
Actually the paintball gun was added, in the contraptions dlc as a stationary gun. Also there was probably no use for the Chinese assault rifle because of the handmade gun in the nuka world dlc, although idk if the dlc guns were thunk of be4 or after the base game.
What I love about the cranky, is that the hammer cocks after the shot. Perhaps an inverted mechanism.
I love how they cut all these weapons despite how much we would have appreciated them.
And instead of implementing them in future updates, they expanded the creation club.
i would love to play with the cruncky shotgun, the sound effects are satisfying
I find it hard to believe that some of these guns were made. People need to make mods for these

4:18 whoever made this mod for the Chinese rifle, they were smart to give it a Galil charging handle so they could use base game animations and it fits perfectly
It's honestly sad these were cut when every.single.one deserves to be in the game more than the goofy lame "Assault Rifle" they admitted was originally an LMG type
Only thing good to come out of Fallout 76 was people downloading a ton of mods for FO4 to see the glimpse of potential it had that was squandered at release
I had no idea some of the most popular weapon mods (like the Blowback or Chinese AR) were originally cut, shows the devs were off the mark more than just the "dialog" system
