I made an error! I mentioned that the frankenswitches had an MMStudios POM top housing, but it's the bottom housing. The top housing was from a Cherry MX red switch. I had these frankenswitches left over from making another frankenswitch for a future project, and I didn't want them to go to waste. Had to use Geon Black Linears to fill up a few spots.
I also did try tape modding, but it didn't have the effect I wanted.

Oooo, that definitely cleaned up a lot and brought some life back to the board. I like how your short sound test is almost a length of my full video 😂

For real! Should've went poly fill on the first keeb. Maybe in the future when I break it out again haha.
LOL, well... Quantity (me) over quality (you) 😞. Gimmie some of dat Keypo magic!

I love this project and the previous one so much. There's just something about bringing life to old things that brings me joy. You knocked this one out of the park! :D

Thanks so much! ❤ I learned a lot honestly, and will be better prepared in the future to deal with similar boards. I might not have done the boards justice/left some things in the table, but next similar project will definitely sound better!

@@cebukitty For sure! Thanks for the suggestions. If I ever find a similar board for a project or get a chance to do something similar in the future, finding a way to alleviate the hollowness as well as getting a louder switch is definitely the play (like you suggested).
It definitely can be improved, so maybe in the future, if I don't find another board to "mod", I'll revisit this and the other, but it was a fun learning experience for sure!
