I lived in Los Feliz in1975 on Kenmore, an end unit 2bdr townhouse built probably in the twenties. I could walk out the front entrance and look up and view the observatory. Now the part you won't believe, rent was $205 a month with a 3 year lease. Can you imagine that today.
Wow, $250 for a townhouse in Los Feliz. I wish I could go back to those days. This area is so exorbitantly expensive, but it makes sense since it's so pleasant. At least walking through Griffith park is free and extremely enjoyable.
Make it happen. Los Feliz, At Water, and Silverlake are close to each other and make it such a pleasant place to live in Los Angeles. There's always a place to visit and a restaurant to go to.
I really like your videos man. I like how naturally you present the places without any extra baggage or irrelevant content. It's as if you truly capture and show the best of the places you visit. That is rare on youtube. Most of the time, youtubers focus too much on local culture beyond cuisine choices and make one feel less free to experience places in their own way. You actually present places as they are without any of that baggage. In other words, you seem to truly enjoy making these videos because you genuinely enjoy visiting these places yourself. Thank you.
Aahhh, thank you for this comment, you just made my day. I really do enjoy visiting all these places and making these sort of videos. I'm pretty intellectual in my own way and love to put little snippets of facts and give a bit of history on all these places. I'm glad you enjoy them and will continue making videos.
Thanks for the vid, I lived off off Hillhurst and Gainsborough for 8 years, loved all all the cafes, Skylight Books etc. I really miss it and was so,happy to see it again.
Thanks for watching the video, and I'm glad I was able to give you an update on the area. Definitely it has changed with time but it still remains one of my favorite areas in Los Angeles.
Hey, this is my neighborhood. As I'm watching this, my six year old son is screaming, "hey this is where we live. That's the movie theatre we always go to. This guy is following everywhere we go". Thanks for giving my son a kick.
Cool, I'm glad I was able to entertain your son ;-) Los Feliz is definitely right up there in the top 5 places in Los Angeles, at least for myself. I like this area because unlike a ton of areas in Hollywood it's really pleasant to walk in. Plus, Griffith Park is a huge luxury. Thanks for watching.
¡De nada! Los Feliz es realmente una zona hermosa. Es una de las pocas áreas de Los Ángeles donde se puedes realmente caminar y disfrutar de la naturaleza.
As an LA native. I've always thought Los Feliz was so beautiful! If I could afford it, I would definitely move their! Maybe if i hit the lottery, Los Feliz here I come!
You and I! I wish I could afford Los Feliz. It's such a gorgeous area but I can't complain too much as I'm in Glendale, literally 10 mins away from Los Feliz by car.
Welcome to Los Angeles. I’m sure you’re going to love the city. There’s so many amazing spots to visit! Los Feliz definitely is one of my favorite areas.
Enjoyed the video. As a home and container gardening hobbyist, I couldn't help but admire the bougainvillea creeping on and covering the stucco wall at 3:43-3:45. Southern California with its Mediterranean frost free semi-arid climate, is perfect for all kinds of tender tropical and succulent vegetation. Any time I visit L.A., I'm just amazed at how lush vegetation just thrives there and almost all of the landscape appears to be professionally managed. But no, most of it just seems to take care of itself and be right at home. 🪴🌴
I love seeing all this nature too but I'm pretty darn sure that there are quiet a few places that are super professionally managed. Actually a beautiful place to see vegetation around residential areas is South Pasadena. There are such beautiful types of trees there and also the Huntington Library Gardens.
Love ferndell it was always a getaway for me , your right it’s pretty reclusive there ! Love love the Greek theater a fabulous venue for concerts, besides the Hollywood bowl my favorite places for live music! Griffith park was always a place to go! The house in the Los Feliz area were always dream homes to me thank you for you review your so right a nice place to visit let’s No forget the observatory so icon, remembering L.A school field trips up on the hill ❤❤😊
I really love this area. One thing I'll say about the Observatory, which is a real pity, is the fact that now parking on top of Griffith park is super expensive. So, only way to really hang out at the observatory is to either park at the bottom and hike all the way up or take a shuttle bus which departs close to the Greek theatre and even on lower streets in that area. Even with that it's still one of my favorite places to spend time in.
Thanks bud! I definitely have a ton more LA/ California tour videos coming up pretty soon. Also, if you're mostly interested in the Vlog style videos you are welcome to check-out the playlist on my channel which has all the Vlog style videos in one place. ua-cam.com/play/PLIuawm-1hZBiOnxnbo7Mbwwer5_TKsl_g.html
When I was a kid, there was water flowing in Ferndell, and they had cray fish there. A natural spring feeds the park. There are several natural springs below the city.
@@TheDavidNeytsShow honestly your great man you don't need anything to add on, your descriptions is the exact need of every one who want to get knowledge
Did you know? At the entrance to Ferndell, there was a natural spring. People from far and wide use to fill up 5 gal bottles claiming the water tasted better. The spring dried up so the City attached the spring to the Cities water supply. People still claimed the water tasted better even though it was City tap water.
That is so interesting. I had no idea. Maybe the water tasted better because the pipes that the city installed were newer or filtered the water better than what you would get at a regular Los Angeles home? Or maybe just psychologically people felt that filling up water from a source automatically made it more delicious? Either way, that's a really interesting fact. Thank you for sharing it!
Los Feliz is really an expensive area. Same with me I couldn’t afford it so I live in Glendale now but luckily it’s only a 15 mins drive to get to Los Feliz from my house so I get to enjoy that area very often.
OMG! I want to go there!!! It's like the classic streets and houses that we see in the movies 💖 Oh I spotted a photo shoot far behind you in the "secret park" 😉 Thanks a lot once again for the travel with you, always a pleasure 👍🏼
He he, I was trying to hide the photo shoot as much as possible because I didn't want it to distract from the nature. YES, Los Feliz is truly the old Hollywood. There's actually a ton more locations around that area but there's just too many to put into one video. You'll certainly see much more of Los Feliz in future videos. Here's a hint for a future video: The Old Griffith Park Zoo...It's an abandoned zoo that became a public park, but all the cages are still there.
Yes, around Los Feliz if you go on Vermont Ave, and Hillhurst there's a bunch of small businesses. I like them because they are privately owned and not big corporations. There's a really nice library on Vermont as well as a few unique clothing stores and even a guy who makes Los Feliz/Silverlake themed t-shirts, stickers, etc...Best way to see all these places is to actually walk around. Hard to notice them if just driving by. Hope this helps!
Ive been to the Greek Theater to pick up passengers when I was doing Uber/Lyft back in 2015-2017 I was making $10K💥💯🔥😎🎶🎙🎤🍷👍💣😂✌️🖤💜🤣❤️i know the entire County of L.A.
One day, neighbourhoods will ban cars (the devil's work), and people will have to walk or cycle or take the electric bus. Now, how peaceful would that be. Tx for the tour ;)
How nice would that be? It's kinda sad that America has based it's whole transportation system on motor vehicles neglecting the trains, metros, trams, buses. I think life would indeed be better without all the vehicles.
