EXPLORING GIANT CAT STATUES IN BRUSSELS PARK – Must-See Le Chat Déambule Expo in The City Center!
This is a detailed video of Le Chat Expo (Le Chat Déambule) at Brussels Park in the Center of Brussels.

Brussels Park (Park Royal)
Nestled in the heart of Brussels lies Brussels Park, a green haven with roots tracing back to the 18th century when it was originally designed as the garden of the Royal Palace. Over time, it has evolved into a cherished public space adorned with historical statues commemorating pivotal moments in Belgian history. Adjacent to the park stands the opulent Royal Palace, constructed in the 19th century, serving as the official residence of the Belgian royal family and a testament to the nation's regal heritage. This area in the center of Brussels is truly magnificent, with wide streets and even some murals making it even more memorable.
Le Chat Exhibit - Le Chat Déambule:
Eighteen years after Le Chat's original Expo at the École nationale des Beaux-Arts, Philippe Geluck, the author of Le Chat, was welcomed to Paris, where the statue exhibit was officially launched. From then on, Le Chat déambule tour moved to different cities, including Bordeaux, Caen, Geneva, Monaco, and Montreux, attracting more than 6 million fans of this comic book series filled with humor, poetry, but also by the profound subjects tackled by the artist. For its final stop, Le Chat exposition went to Brussels, which is Philippe Geluck’s hometown. The statues are mesmerizing lined up in the center of the park and show a variety of comical situations that the cat finds himself in.
Band Stand:
The park's main bandstand was built in 1841 for national holiday celebrations. This ornate twelve-sided cast iron kiosk was initially intended for the roundabout but soon was repurposed to accommodate concerts and fanfare orchestras. Also, in this park, there are a couple of wooden structures that house a semi-outdoor cafe. At the time of filming, due to the weather, this cafe was closed, but on better weather days, this can be a really fun place to enjoy the park and the surrounding nature. Regarding Le Chat statues, it’s impressive to see how big they are and how each represents something fun, and sometimes political. After all, there have been 24 albums and 6 best-of albums released since its inception in 1983, so finding humorous inspiration to create these statues wasn’t too difficult. On an interesting note, each statue is made of bronze and weighs around 2.5 tons.
Theatre Royal Du Parc:
The Royal Park Theatre, built in 1782, is located at the park's northern end. Initially serving as both a banquet hall and a literary cabinet, it provided newspapers and novels to the public for a penny. The park also houses The Vauxhall of Brussels, a historic performance hall that opened in 1781. Initially a drinking palace, concert hall, and theater, it has been utilized by the arts and literature club Cercle Gaulois and its predecessors for meetings, dinners, exhibitions, and concerts. As for the Brussels Park grounds, they have been classified as a protected site since 1972. The park now belongs to the Brussels Region, which manages and maintains it. It was most recently renovated between 2000 and 2002.

    Tried this recipe by cutting ingredients in half but keeping the ratio. I found some issues: 1. Butter is too much and the mixture becomes too oily. As someone mentioned in the comments, something between 25-50% should be enough. 2. Yeast is too much. It gives you fluffy texture (you DON'T want this much in Belgium waffles) and a bit of yeasty flavor. 3. Too many eggs. You end up with a slightly watery mixture. Other than that, waffles were still good enough but next time I'll try to reduce some ingredients.

    When I went to visit Dino Delaurentiis at his mansion in the Hollywood hills,that was before he died in 2007, he had his butler drive me to see the Hollywood sign close by. Although I wasn’t really interested about that sign not till after Dino’s death in 2010 and that I studied much about the sign, how it was erected there in 1923 as a housing development advertisement that read Hollywoodland. A young actress name Peg Entwhistle committed suicide there leaping to her death jumping from the letter H after she was cut off from 18 minutes to three minutes in movie titled 13 women.

      Yes, the Fantomas series is amazing. Le Grand Restaurant is really good too. Razinja is actually the Russian name for the French movie Le Corniaud, which is a colloquial way of saying "idiot". I love how the names are changed from one country to the other but the humor is appreciated in different countries.

    I’have been recently, gratued there, and now the andre Vesal (and Camille Jose) have marge with Jean Absil. And so there is like 250 people only in the first year and 10 classes, so we were like 1.200-1.400 students in there.

    • @TheDavidNeytsShow
      @TheDavidNeytsShow 2 місяці тому

      I went to André Vesale for my primary school and then went to Jean-Absil for secondary school. Lots of good memories from both schools. Jean-Absil only had around 450 students in the 90s-early 2000s. The old principal, Mr. Capelle, was a great principal, and he had given me the keys to both Absil and André Vesale to film a bunch of scenes in both schools. I filmed in the parking lot of Absil, the gym room, cafeteria, and a bunch of the hallways and classrooms of André Vesale. If you're curious, I have another movie channel where you can see some of these movies: "Agent Double & Rumble Densetsu" www.youtube.com/@dneyts. There's also "Shadowed Daylight" which features on another channel: ua-cam.com/video/5bBU7AzwmHY/v-deo.htmlsi=sORZTIpXfNPf-Ujh. By the way, if you are curious, on the Team Rumble channel link I listed, there's also a class school trip we did to the USA in 1998. Maybe you'll find it interesting to see the faces of the people back in the 90s. It's funny how UA-cam didn't exist in those days, yet I filmed so many things in that school. Good memories!

    • @TheDavidNeytsShow
      @TheDavidNeytsShow 3 місяці тому

      Sweeteners like fruit juice, honey, molasses and maple syrup contain natural sugar and have some nutritional benefits. Fruit has fiber, vitamins and antioxidants. Even raw honey and maple syrup can contain antioxidants and minerals like iron, zinc, calcium and potassium. The bad types of sugar are regular table sugar (sucrose), added sugar, or the refined stuff you find in sodas, candy, cookies, ketchup, or processed foods. The recommended daily intake of sugar is approximately 6 teaspoons (25 grams).

    What a sooooo lovely city ❤ And I didn't know for this huge earthquake. It's sad to see how powerful it was with the sort of "memorial" but I think it's important for people to see it and be conscient about the fact they have to be careful. And I'm surprised with the price of the beef. Because here, with non-kobe beef, we can pay a steak between 20 and 25 euros, easily 😅 Thanks a lot for this new beautiful video buddy! 🤜🤛

      The beef was delicious but I also got the cheapest menu. If I had gotten the prime meat it would have been 4 to 5 times this price. I think we can say without hesitation that Shibuya is a sort of "Disneyland" in the middle of Tokyo but without the attractions of course 😂 Or maybe a small Las Vegas with all these lights? 😁 But yeah this part of the city is one that we know better in Tokyo even if we never put a foot there lol! And I loved your ending scene, so quiet, it was a HUGE contrast with the rest of the video. Good job buddy 👍

      Even in it's most busy areas the city is built in such a way that it respects its residents. From crowded streets to completely quiet areas just a few meters apart. You mention a smaller size Vegas. I actually feel the reverse. The lights in Tokyo and other major cities in Japan are actually much more impressive than Vegas. It's two very distinct and different worlds.

      I really love this area. One thing I'll say about the Observatory, which is a real pity, is the fact that now parking on top of Griffith park is super expensive. So, only way to really hang out at the observatory is to either park at the bottom and hike all the way up or take a shuttle bus which departs close to the Greek theatre and even on lower streets in that area. Even with that it's still one of my favorite places to spend time in.

    I lived in Los Feliz in1975 on Kenmore, an end unit 2bdr townhouse built probably in the twenties. I could walk out the front entrance and look up and view the observatory. Now the part you won't believe, rent was $205 a month with a 3 year lease. Can you imagine that today.

    • @TheDavidNeytsShow
      @TheDavidNeytsShow 4 місяці тому

      Wow, $250 for a townhouse in Los Feliz. I wish I could go back to those days. This area is so exorbitantly expensive, but it makes sense since it's so pleasant. At least walking through Griffith park is free and extremely enjoyable.

    I noticed you use brown sugar (unrefined sugar from sugarcane). I believe the original recipe in Belgium uses unrefined sugar from beetroot instead of sugarcane. In Belgium, in Tirlemont's sugar refinery, they use local beetroot. I'm just wondering if there is any difference in taste between unrefined sugarcane sugar and unrefined beetroot sugar. Also, I would advise to prepare the yeast separately away from the salt to give the yeast a chance to grow strong. Then 10 min later you can dump it into the mixture that contains salt.

      Hi, this recipe is mainly catered to people that aren't living in Europe, but were missing the delicious taste of European waffles, so I used ingredients that were reasonably easy to purchase at a local American store. There may be a slight difference between the beetroot sugar and refined sugar but honestly it's minimal. As for the yeast. I did the same recipe in Belgium with the yeast I bought there and it grew much more with the Belgian one than the American one I use in this recipe. Definitely the quality of ingredients is different from continent to continent. The recipe comes out great with the ingredients I buy at USA stores but have to modify when doing same recipe in Europe. Also, since this is a recipe I look at it as art. You should experiment with it and find a way to do it that fits your taste pallet and kitchen equipment that you have. There are definitely things that authentic waffle makers in Belgium have, like the industrial waffle maker, that you most likely will not have at home.

      @TheDavidNeytsShow 4 місяці тому

      Yes, around Los Feliz if you go on Vermont Ave, and Hillhurst there's a bunch of small businesses. I like them because they are privately owned and not big corporations. There's a really nice library on Vermont as well as a few unique clothing stores and even a guy who makes Los Feliz/Silverlake themed t-shirts, stickers, etc...Best way to see all these places is to actually walk around. Hard to notice them if just driving by. Hope this helps!

      Potato Potato...Tomato Tomato but whatever makes you happy. As fungi, yeasts are eukaryotic organisms. They typically are about 0.075 mm (0.003 inch) in diameter and have many forms, from spherical to egg-shaped to filamentous. Most yeasts reproduce asexually by budding: a small bump protrudes from a parent cell, enlarges, matures, and detaches.
