Captain Hollywood, Snap!, La Bouche, Culture Beat are typical 1990s German eurodance productions frontlined by US/UK vocalists. Some groups are mixed with German vocalists (e.g. Mr President or Magic Affair). The Scorpions (also Bellini and Fools Garden) are fully German and have been performing since the 1970s. Twenty4Seven are Dutch but produced by Captain Hollywood (hence the collab). Haddaway came to Germany from Trinidad and was later naturalized. Lou Bega was born in Munich and is German. Mo-Do is Italian. Falco is Austrian. DJ Bobo is Swiss.
just before some people mention that they are not all germans, the small infobox under the original video mentions that are songs that are either by germans, swiss' or austrians or they were produced in one of the three countries.
Lou Bega is born in Munich and a german. Italian mother and father from Uganda. Scorpions are extremly german :)😀, they are from Hannover. I was born 72 and belive me it was the time of my life (together with the late 80s). Married since 2000, and party was over (just kidding)
Mo-Do is NOT just Italian, he also lived in Germany and did - as everyone can hear - the songs also in German. And people should also slowly get that from an international (and actually also historical/cultural - Holy Roman Empire etc.) context all the German speaking countries are kind of the same.
1:43 That was the theme song of the first of the Werner movies. You could say, that the comics and the movies are northern german cultural asset. The comics come from the artist Rötger "Brösel" Feldmann. The Band "Torfrock" do most of the voice acting for the movies.
When it comes to eurodance, you can be sure, that many of them are german, partially german (there were many coops between european musician from different countries) or at least produced in Germany. Because Germany was THE centre of eurodance at this time! Greetings from Berlin 😎
Germany's most important contribution to the development of popular music in the 20th century always gets a little lost in such lists... The invention of electropop. The band "Kraftwerk" are the pioneers of the genre. The NY Times once called them "the Beatles" of electronic music. Kraftwerk has had a significant influence on countless artists and a number of styles...
Hello - "Best Man" - friend from Latvia - the question about my favorite music is easy to answer. I have L O V E, i`m obsessed since the 1966s - soul, groove, funk, especially the songs and artists of "MOTOWN" - e.g. Marvin Gaye, The Tamptations, Smokey Robinson, The Four Tops, etc. I grew up with them, they have grown close to my heart - but I also have a few favorite bands from the late 60s / early 70s - including "Pink Floyd, Procol Harum, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple" and a few more...
My favourite Genre is probably Folk/Folk-Rock/Folk-Metal. The Medieval Scene is huge in Germany and I think it's the best Genre alongside Country to tell a Story/Ballad. But my everyday Playlist is mostly 80s/90s/2000s EDM, Eurobeat, Pop. Like many from this list here :D
Germany has the largest music market in Europe and the third largest music market on this planet - right behind USA and Japan! < so there is a lot of music to discover! ;)
0:10 I would say that the Wildecker Herzbuben style is something in between Schlager and Volksmusik (folk music). We say also Schlager in German. Both are not my favourite ...
I like all kinds of Music except Schlager, Jazz and German Volksmusik. The last one is more like Schlager but I love traditonal Bavarian Volksmusik which is more authentic.
DJ Bobo is from Switzerland, not Germany and Falco is austrian. So the Video is not totally correct. My favorite music is Rock. But depending on my mood I listen to other things as well. Techno, Hip Hop, RNB, whatever... But the time has to be right
Schlager is a german word and comes from the verb schlagen which means hitting. So I guess, in the 50s/60s we took the english word Hit and just translated it into german. But it's interesting that you guys took our word for that and stick with it for that kind of genre 🤓
Germany started very early with 'multikulti/exotism' (was also in the 20thies century. thats why you have a lot of bands and languages which could be from all over the world but are created in Germany. apropos: most of the time Germany was also world travel master in the 20ties century (in difference to the French btw. who even today are among the worse with English in Europe - even all the former eastern-central/eastern countries and also in the past with foreign languages sucking countries like Greece or Portugal are now much better. Every online gamer also know those countries who suck with English usually: France, Russia, Turkey (Spanish sphere as well but Spain is slowly getting better (latin america still sucks. not the us, latin america is really bad with other languages). Germany started also very early in the 20. century not just to sing in German but (kind of first 'multikulti') to sing in English more and more - and added also at that time prominent languages like Italian, sometimes also here and there some Spanish or French. One could say kind of first multikulti phases which are based actually already on older stereotypes (Italy for instance was already a likened tourist destination before the world wars). Now, especially from the perspective of countries who were most of the time not used to English singers in their own country (Spanish speaking, Portugese, French, Italian, the Ex-Soviet block states etc.) have of course English singing bands from Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden etc. rather guessed as from UK or the US - if it wasnt known ones like ABBA (it was known they were Swedish already back in time)
There are some mistakes in this list. Just use Wikipedia if they were really from Germany. DJ Bobo for example is swiss en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DJ_BoBo Greetings from Germany

Thank you for explaination ! No more confusion.
Another one that actually is german is Cascada(Everytime we touch, Evacuate the Dancefloor)
just before some people mention that they are not all germans, the small infobox under the original video mentions that are songs that are either by germans, swiss' or austrians or they were produced in one of the three countries.
aaaaa i got it :D
produced and written by Germans most likely(except for some songs like I've got the power where that vocal line and the beat are sampled)
@@thebestman92-rq5xc It's actually the German speakin' region of central Europe...

Some mistakes in that video. DJ Bobo is Swiss, Mo-Do is Italian and Falco is Austrian, but yeah, a lot of Eurodance came from Germany.

Hi, the first song is not Schlager, thats Folkmusic from Germany.
The third Song is Schlager
React to the Video Popular Songs Form German Artist since 2010-2023 or something like this
I have dome it, you can find it on mu channel.
3:34 actually the Original is from Michael Jackson.
He only played a part in that song, the artist is Rockwell.
8:09 Falco is an Austrian
Until 1866 Austria , Liechtenstein, Luxemburg had been official part of German Federation, Switzerland was until 1499 (on paper 1648) part of HRE.
D3:15 DJ Bobo is from Switzerland, not from Germany
But produced by the German Music Producer Axel Breitung in Hamburg.
DJ Bobo is from Switzerland, not Germany and Falco is austrian. So the Video is not totally correct.
My favorite music is Rock. But depending on my mood I listen to other things as well. Techno, Hip Hop, RNB, whatever... But the time has to be right
Same with me!
It's more about the German spoken region and not about the different states...
