I am in love with the music of Herbert Grönemeyer. I'm Swedish female. And Was Soll Das is an absolute banger. The lyrics makes me smile every time I hear it. The lyrics are so humourous.
Hello - "Best Man" friend from Lithuania - Boney M is - like Millie Vanillie - a cast and completely "remote-controlled" band by Frank Farian. Both bands are world famous and extremely successful. The songs from 04:00s are from the well-known and popular 80s era "Neue Deutsche Welle" (NDW). NO, "Falco" is not German - he is Austrian, but we Germans like to claim German-speaking artists for ourselves.
Not every artist is from Germany, for example Falco and Opus are from Austria. Boney M. is a German band founded by Frank Farian who was also the leading male vocal. Bobby Farrell only sang playback and was dancing. From the 50ths until today a lot of US Americans were successful in Music business like Donna Summer. Remember - after WW2 there were a lot of US and British soldiers in Germany. English became the most popular language in music and some of the GIs stayed here and started a career.
@@thebestman92-rq5xc A lot of modern Germany goes so deep into the releationships after WWII. They learnd from the mistakes after WWI and the treaty of Versaille. After WWI the treated Germans still als humans because the most Germans were nothing else than just humans. So this had a massiv influence in our todays cultere. And music was always a big thing in Germany. So this influence was enormous. Until the early 1980s, only a few people were interested in music in German language. English was the language of the modern music then. It was only with the "Neue deutsche Welle" (New German Wave) in the early 1980s that our own language found its way back into our music.
4:01 Yes, but immidiately switched over to V Rock, my favourite Radio Station in VC. But at this time in VC until today, i cant hear some of these Songs cause i´ve heard them to often. Most of the normal Public radio Stations squeezing songs out untill you cant listen to em anymore. In the past 4-5 Weeks i listened to Flash FM Radio on Spotify while driving Tesla. I cant tell you what german song is my favourite, but there are some quiet good ones. J.B.O. - EIn guter Tag zum Sterben Blind Guardian - The Bards song Missfits - Oberhausen Axel Rudi Pell - The Masquerade Ball Grave Digger - Rebellion Primal Fear - Bullets and Tears I dont have this favourite Song in this Video, but 80% of these played Songs im pretty safe in text and melody, for some Reason.
2:42 With this song Germany won the Eurovision Songcontest for the frist time. If you want very good modern but special German music, a rabbit hole you can never escape, watch (and please react) to songs from Electric Callboy (like Ratata or HypaHypa).

I'm already old and loved the 80s. The fashion had made a statement.
Agree 80s had something special about them!
You asked for my fave year ... to me it is 1974, the year I was born. ~_~ HUGZ & KISSES from Germany. ♥

@@thebestman92-rq5xc 1974 Germany won the World Cup and I was born. What a year. ~_~
Some of them were international hits. I live in Australia. Ive heard a few of them before
yes they were going around the world back in the day!
Modern Talking 🤣
German opinion used to be divided.
Some loved it, others hated it - and today everyone claims they've never heard the music. 🤭
"and today everyone claims they've never heard the music." - But everyone knows the lyrics and can sing along to the songs 😁

I don't, but I can do the chorus halfway even as a metalhead. 🤣

Haha nice thank you 😁😁🥳
The production always was German!
6:32 No, Out of the dark, into the light. The song came after his death. And it's not a love song. Rather the opposite.
Thank you
Well , sometimes you need to understand the German language do see that the lyric is ironic , or just beautiful
ok
please don't be offended, you're very handsome
Thank you very much :)
not all german songs are from germany. Falco is autrian btw.
If you want to read a real interesting story including Boney M. please google Frank Farian. You also remember Milli Vanilli, if yes you will have fun.

Falco was from Austria, but spoke German.
Falco is Austrian not German
same failure, it is not about GERMAN songs, it is is about popularity in the german billboard. jeez.
No, I don't think so. The production was German, that is what it is about.
