It's either the artists that are German (or Austrian/Swiss) or the producers behind the songs. Germany is the third-biggest music market in the world (after USA and Japan) and has been a big player in pop music production since the 1980s. See the compilations for the earlier decades.
Right. For example the members of ATC (A Touch of Class) came from New Zealand, Australia, Italy and England. However they met each other at the international Broadway theatre in Hamburg and they were actually playing in the stage musical Cats. They became friends and formed a dance group. Later they met the producer Alex Christensen who has worked with many other groups and bands like Tom Jones, Prince Ital Joe (and "Marky Mark" ;)), Right Said Fred or NSYNC. Germany also has many recording studios and many international bands and artists have recorded one or multiple albums in germany. Though other countries also have well known studios like the UK with the Abby Road Studios
Yeah, you should react to the older stuff And maybe some rock/metal from the days, since germany was and still is a huge market for metal bands (you would be surprised how many well known band besides Rammstein are german) P.s the Heavy Metal Band Accept is "considered" to be part of the New Wave of british heavy Metal even thou there are german
you go up way to much to some of the most horrible songs ever xD the big brother songs or the ones who were honestly just made by some idiots and people made fun of them like this "mein stern" dogshit xD

The video counts everything as a German song that has either German lyrics, a German performer or a German producer.

A lot of the snippets are too short to even get the essence of the songs. Though of course it would get too long otherwise.
